This is a small but genuine thing that causes a lot of people so much pain and self-doubt. Yet I'm glad you were able to pull yourself out of this and present this to us. I've been in a similar situation but instead, it's with people constantly reminding me how incompetent and idiotic I am. This cycle of feeling stupid which leads to me making more mistakes due to hesitation. which in turn leads me to feel like I'm even more stupid than before. add that to the constant scolding and mockery from my EX-friends, and it causes some serious long-term damage that even 3 years later. I'm still badly suffering from it. Haminations, this might be a small goofy moment you had in your past. yet, this could also inform people of what I consider the deprecating cycle.
Sorry to go a little deep but this video puts into perspective this cycle really well in my books.

I remember my class had connect 4 tournaments and we could have commentators talking behind with certain names for certain moves. Some moves where even named after certain people because they used them so much 😂
it was an art form.
I felt kinda silly when someone just put a vertical connect 4 in front of my face 3 times in a row. Also then that was named after him because everyone was watching 😂
The trick (well, more like tip) to winning at Connect 4 is to think defensively _and_ offensively. While you’re figuring out where to go next, also worry what your opponent is doing. Make sure they don’t have anything on you and if they do, try to block it if you can. Don’t think _too_ defensively or offensively though, because you might miss a winning move (on your side _or_ the opponent’s) just because you were too focused on blocking something else or making sure _you_ don’t get blocked. If you’re smart (or lucky) enough, you can play your pieces so well that you’ll win no matter _what_ your opponent does. But you have to calculate and make your moves _SLOWLY._ This might not help you win every time, but it comes from someone who does win almost every time. (I have beaten my entire close family in Connect 4 at least twice)
