I would like to see a financial audit of someone who is at the point a lot of these people are trying to strive for. -little to no debt - spending within their means - fully funded emergency fund What to do next…? What freedoms can they allow for themselves now. What do they need to do now to set themselves up for retirement, to buy a house or other financial dreams they may have?
I think also Caleb doesn’t give investing/financial advice like that. And you usually need some type of license or degree to give that type of financial advice.
I am interested in this too. I have no credit debt, 12 month emergency fund, Roth 401k (15%) and Roth IRA (5%) I contribute to each paycheck, no loans, paid off car and house. I wouldn't mind seeing some audits of people closer to my situation. The only downside I see is they might not make for an exciting video, I mean, we probably won't hear Caleb frustratedly yell out "FEES!"
He did make one of those, 7 months ago called "Impossible For Middle Class To Buy A Home With Mortgage Rates". It's one of the shorter audits but the lady on that video had her finances all in order.
I'm there, but unfortunately I'm also in the "must work until I drop" category. Age comes a lot faster than you think it will. But my daughter is hopefully in a better financial place!

Hypothetically speaking, if I wasn’t paying my taxes. The last thing I would do is tell the truth about it on a financial show. As you can easily be turned into the IRS for this for monetary gain by whoever reported you.
You know what, he’s reckless with his spending BUT I’m glad to see he’s actually watching previous episodes and applying what he’s learned. I actually have some hope for him compared to previous guests.
My finances were in the best shape of my life prior to finding this show through a lot of trial and error, and I've still learned there are improvements that can be made. This show also makes me feel way better about my finances, and have learned through this show, just how far of the curb my Wife and I are. You're why we cancelled Amazon Prime and are much more tight over where we allocate funds in our budget. We are mostly debt free sans a car loan that is in it's last year thanks to you. You've inspired us to attack that balance enough to pay it off this year. Thanks dude!!
In California it now takes 8-10 years to pay off solar, depending on your bills. There are no state incentives, only the federal tax credits and you are looking at about $10-20K out of pocket for a system. Also they changed the rules with the utilities so they now pay almost nothing for power, so you will also want a battery for another $10K. He should be very cautious about how easily that business can collapse without the incentives.

Look all I'm saying is that some of those salesmen are savvy. My husband kicks everyone off our lawn, kids, dogs, etc. Somehow, someway , a 19 year old Vivint rep got through our door at 8pm and was here until 10pm and signed us up for a FANTASTIC system 😂 That kid was trained WELL
@John Zheng no I didn't? I only got a camera and security system. It can be resold with the house and it added 4k in value. Also, it lowered my homeowners by about $600/yr
It *is* possible. I spent 12 years as a server/bartender before I went into sales as a door knocker. Two-thirds of people would not answer the door for anyone or anything. 32% of those that open the door just wanted me to leave; it's a challenge to overcome objections, and get in the door. 1% just welcomed me in with open arms, happily provided a social security number, and signed on for a 2 year contract.
I appreciate your show. I don't have any credit card debt so I'm starting to look at my house like a credit card and wanted to aggressively pay it off. Thanks for the motivation.
I’m no stranger to wanting freedom and flexibility in work - even if you hate a standard 9-5 job, the major pro of that monotony is that you can plan, save, pay off debt, THEN be free to pursue what you want…
The 'memory loss' about where the money went is something I've heard often from people with addiction issues. (NOT saying that's his case, just it happens a lot to addicts.)
Love these videos. My financial situation is nowhere near as dire like a lot of the guests. However this made me wake up to really try to get a firm grip over my finances. Put a budget together for the first time and actually know where all money is going. After seeing these horror stories I’m just trying to steer as clear as possible from getting anywhere close to this
Correct me if I am wrong, but filing an extension only moves the filing due date back 6 months. It does not move the payment dates back. If Michael did not pay the estimated amount of tax due by his initial filing deadline, the he will owe both a late filing penalty plus interest on the amount owed.
Yes. Further, the IRS will set up a payment plan with very reasonable interest rates if you find yourself in that position but you MUST set that up by the April deadline.
He won’t get hit with a failure to file penalty which is 5% per MONTH, but will get hit with a failure to pay penalty which is 6% per year (reduced to 3% if on Installment Agreement). Both penalties are capped at 25%. There is interest on top of these which is 3% more than the Federal Reserve Rate (4.75% currently). I believe the interest is rounded down to 7% this quarter. Combined you’re looking at 13% in penalties and interest. Pretty bad, but not as bad as most credit cards.

I bought my house in sept 2020 & it's basically one I bought after it was flipped. It's in a low income neighborhood - in the last week, we have had 4 solar sales people come by. Our bills are fairly low but these sales people seem to target my neighborhood. I spoke to a neighbor with a home that they are planning to fix up (including a roof repair that is fairly extensive & obvious from the road) & they have had even more sales people than I have. I worry that solar places are targeting people to get gov't incentives & lock them into payment arrangements they cannot sustain.
Small taxes can affect investment decisions such as whether to choose tax-free municipal bonds over taxable bonds or do a Roth IRA conversion. I’ve been sitting on over $745K equity from a home sale and I want to invest on the stock market, how do I achieve this without being taxed twice?
There’s more benefit to holding fixed-income assets in tax-deferred retirement accounts as opposed to taxable accounts. If you're not who understands strategies to invest in the market, seek a Financial advisor to guide you.
Having an investment adviser is the best way to go about the stock market right now, especially for near retirees, I've been in touch with a coach for awhile now mostly and I made over $800K within a short time

Hey Caleb! Not sure if you'll read this, but I've got to tell you about how life-changing your content has been for me. As of today, I have paid off all prior debts excluding my student loans; I had a particularly egregious debt of about 2.8k with a 35% APR, which I saved aggressively for 2 1/2 months to finally get rid of. Seems like I just needed the fear of God to set me straight, or in this case, the fear of Caleb screaming expletives from my computer screen!
I just recently found your channel and really love your stuff! I was thinking that it would be nice to see an episode of financial audit with a guest who is actually doing good to hear how they were able to manage their money. It would be interesting
It was a good episode as he had some of the frivolous spending that some of the lower income guests get criticism from Caleb for (If I remember he had Starbucks every day). A good example that you can do that stuff 'when your house is in order.'
Cant get over the amount of people on his shows with NO health insurance..One thing i never didnt have..Im almost 50 and still have barely ever been to the doc in my life.
Just crazy! Especially because if you don’t make much money insurance is cheap even in the US. These people make enough and CHOOSE not to get insurance
Just wanted to throw this out for people who have degrees but find themselves struggling to find a job. The state of Florida lets you begin the process of becoming a teacher on a 3 year temporary certificate just just having a degree. It could be the consistent income (health insurance, retirement, etc.) someone needs to get headed in the right direction. The teacher schedule also allows for a lot of side hustle options.
Love your videos Caleb! And interesting video idea is to have a personal trainer or nutritionist come on and give you a health audit since you always talk about wanting to improve on that.
This story of his keeps changing. He won hundred percent said that he had to pay his parents back and his roommate back before the IRS. And then it changed. I don’t know how Caleb doesn’t have a heart attack dealing with these people.😂 AXS was his concert ticket! $150 charge. This guy is something else! He spending over $200 a month on his energy drinks and taquitos but then he won’t spend $300 a month on health insurance. He needs to understand that one time going to the emergency room cost, and thousands of dollars! He is so scatterbrained he almost needs a personal assistant to keep his life together.
This salesman spends a lot on stimulants for his job. If he was in the high end of sales he would be one of those coked out guys on Wolf of Wall Street
AXS is like concert tickets and stuff! I feel like you need a directory of all the businesses in the US when you do this just to keep people accountable 🤣

I would like to see a financial audit of someone who is at the point a lot of these people are trying to strive for.
-little to no debt
- spending within their means
- fully funded emergency fund
What to do next…?

Heck yes!!!

Since the beginning of the year I started to take a deep dive into my financials. I created tax-free savings accounts for me and my wife, saved up 2 months worth of emergency money.
I also stopped with BS spending, paid off 2 vehicles and 2 credit cards and my wife's student loans. Using everything extra I save now to pay of our house. According to my budget our house will be paid off in 53 months. I can't wait to be debt free.

My aunt had a chihuahua named Taquito. RIP little guy.
Correct me if I am wrong, but filing an extension only moves the filing due date back 6 months. It does not move the payment dates back. If Michael did not pay the estimated amount of tax due by his initial filing deadline, the he will owe both a late filing penalty plus interest on the amount owed.
You are correct !
@@JakoWako Good call, your right about the late filing penalty. That kicks in if he fails to meet the extended deadline.
