Hi Rafael. The length of the wood strips of this scaled model is equal to the planar grid lines. The longest I believe is approx 90 cm. For another full scale model prototype I have made, full length elements are made of several elements of max board size.
Hi, I'm an architecture student who's working with gridshell. My question is the same as Botelho, what kind of wood was used if you don't mind me asking? Thank you, great work btw!
Levina Siswanto Hi. As you might be able to see on the right hand side of the video in the beginning, it is some small paper clip things, with a head and to legs that are bend, once they are inserted through a connection :)
Thanks for sharing your video and the model looks great!
how thick is the masonite strips? and I was wondering if you could lasercut them?
what kinda of wood did you use?
Hi Rafael. Its a kind wood fiber plate. But you can easily use other materials.

I found in your thesis a part where the wood strips has 13,5 cm (wood strip 27) and you told me the max is 90 cm.
Got it!
Thank you
Which wood did you use?Masonite is a brand and in Brazil it does not find. What wood do you indicate to me with these same properties?

Hi Levina. For this test model I used a simple masonite plate cut into strips. Very flexible, so great for early design physical testing :)
Rasmus Holst Hi Rasmus, thank you so much for the answer!!
Rasmus Holst If you don't mind me asking one more question, what did you use to join the strips? thanks beforehand :)

Thank you for the reply :)
hey, what type of fixation is that?
Hi.
If you mean between strips - as you can see in a previous answer - it is quite simple paperclips :)
+Rasmus Holst brass fasteners??
Yes exactly.
