From Hero to Zero: Imran Khan and the Power Struggle
We made Imran Khan. We created Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. But when we faced disrespect, we vowed to turn the hero into zero.
During the deadlock over the appointment of DG ISI, tensions soared. Imran Khan clashed with General Bajwa, who felt undermined by his former ally.
In a candid moment, I witnessed General Bajwa's frustration. He lamented, "We made Imran Khan, but now he shows us disrespect. We'll make him zero from hero."
But I cautioned against this approach. Pakistani politics is complex and independent. The establishment and armed forces have their own agendas and support.
After March 2022, I initiated discussions without naming names. I warned of the damage this power struggle could inflict on Pakistan's stability.
Now, after 27-28 months, it's clear that the establishment is suffering. General Bajwa's change operation has caused turmoil.
Despite my insights, Interpol has labeled me a terrorist. But I remain committed to resolving issues and bringing stability back to Pakistan.
