I don't agree with your underexposing the shots to preserve the highlights. It produces more noise than necessary and if you are after a clean and commercial shot, you should always shoot on the brighter side, but obviously don't clip the highlights either. A good tool is always to look at the histogram. Don't worry about how the photo looks on your display, especially if it is on the brighter side. I always then dial it back in post and create the contrasts and moods that I am after later on, I try to not "pull up" the photo. With that in mind you normally end up with clean looking photos.
There is people out there that still believe that DPReview's reviews are genuine? Years ago I bought the infamous Leica M8, of course for DPReview the camera was fantastic (or fantastic was the money Leica paid for the 'review'). Well, sold the M8 a few months after and, after some time, bought an M9. Now I shot with Sony A7rii, Leica is today, nothing more than a hype.
I dont see you shooting wide open very often, you make every 1.4 lens a kit lens after shooting it at above f5.6, any another reason..? I know it can be personal taste.
That's a good question. Couple reasons. First our sample galleries are used by our viewers and they often benefit from more detail to evaluate the camera. Second wide open is where the lens is at its worst and so I shoot a lot at f2 or f 2.8 to tighten things up a bit. In this video I suppose for street shooting I just wanted a little more DOF.

What genius! A black and white only digital without the stigma of an affordable price. Makes nice jewelry, though.
@@niccollsvideo thanks chris for reply, always love to watch reviews by you guys especially intro..Keep shooting and by the ways i have'nt seen your video whats in your camera bag ? Always curious to see what do you like after using all brands and camera. Thanks cheers.
Increasing B&W contrast on a colour file in post?? No no... You will get weird white lines between the different subjects. This is exactly why you NEED a monochrome camera with filters. 👍🏼✨
Great videography indeed..
Wish Ricoh made a monochrome GR like this
The Fuji video looks nicer than the Leica stills.
Too bad we don't have alternatives from other major suppliers at "reasonable" prices.
