Some of these are absolutely wild mate. And not to sound like a killjoy But the ones with the animals and the ones where the person looks like they've clearly gotten some form of trauma are genuinely tragic.
Not really fair to do the slide to the lion. Can’t chain him up and dangle potential prey in front of him. Let’s be honest, it’s a piece of moving meat in front of a predator. It’s teasing and not fair. Let him be wild ffs

@@chefgaming9920 Fun fact: "Fun fact: “Fun fact: “Fun fact: not everyone can be first” is no longer a fun fact.” is no longer a fun fact" is no longer a fun fact.
As a half Japanese person I've seen most of these shows (and episodes) so I'll just give a little context for each of them: 0:20 - ドッキリGP - You can probably tell from watching, but this is a prank designed to scare people by physically throwing the people in the screen out at you (recently, instead of bikers, pro-wrestlers jump out, pretty scary) 0:38 - program? - This is also sort of a jump scare prank but they made it into a competition to see who can jump out the furthest as a big boulder/ball comes rolling at you. 0:53 - program? - Same channel, except this time they've left a trap hole in the elevator. Many Japanese programs do this frequently, but set traps on dirt (Mostly used in a program called London Hearts/ロンドンハーツ) 1:28 - program? - This prank is held in South Africa, where they dressed a human as a lion to see how close they can get to an actual lion (personally I think this is dangerous, kids never try this :X) This is also a competition based prank, to see who can get the closest. 2:19 - ドッキリGP - This prank was thought of by a comedian, where while taking a shower, the Japanese character Sadako from the movie Ring, comes out of the ceiling and scares the person in the shower. The person taking the shower is usually busy washing their hair, so it's a matter of time to see how long it takes them to notice (also apart of the thrill). FYI: The music you hear in the background while Sadako ascends from the ceiling is the music used in the Ring when Sadako emerges from the TV. Also the comedian being scared here is Watari119/ワタリ119, who was formerly a firefighter, and is often targeted for pranks like these. 3:20 - びっくりぃむ (2 hour special) - The comedian being targeted in this prank is Kotoge Eiji/小峠 英二 from a duo called Viking/バイきんぐ. He is told that needs to find another lion within the lion painting. The catch is that there isn't a lion in the painting but instead, as the announcer says, "there is one behind the painting." So, you were probably like "Is it going to jump out?" I though the same to but NO! Instead they have someone push him into the painting to reveal the lion (this is because although it would be possible to get the lion to jump out the painting, it could be potentially dangerous as it can be aggravated, but then again some human dressed up as a lion so-) 4:12 - program? - This prank to me makes me uncomfortable as it takes invading personal space too far. A comedian named Yabe Taro/矢部 太郎 is invaded by a 100 people in a sauna. I've seen other variations of this but this one definitely makes me, the watcher, feel suffocated. The clip right after this one is another variation where 100 people invade someone who is on a smoke break. I also find this to be uncomfortable since it's a 100 people worth of smoke, but welcome to Japanese Entertainment. 5:09 - program? - The lady in this prank has drank some milk, and is all of a sudden being tickled. They want to see whether she'd blow her milk out or not. (FYI: Old Japanese comedy consisted of people drinking milk and watching funny content to see if it would come out of their nose, yea pretty disgusting). 5:53 - program? - Ever done tug-a-war? What about while wearing a stocking- Yea this is basically stocking tug-a-war, where too people wear a stocking to see who's stronger. Part of the comedy is the distortion of the face that happens when not only wearing the stocking, but having it be pulled. 6:10 - program? - Pretty self explanatory, a person wearing a balloon type costume runs to set a record. Many comedy based programs did and still do Olympic inspired pranks, but I believe this one was inspired by the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as it seems pretty recent. 6:32 - program? - This program calls this "breath-sumo". Yea it's pretty nasty, if you lose an insect goes down your throat. Japan also has a tendency to feature under-rated idols in these types of "unsatisfying" and "gross" pranks (not all the time, but it does happen). 6:48 - さんま&くりぃむの芸能界 - Basically, they are measuring how long a person would stare at *you know what*. It starts from a conference room all the way till the elevator closes. Personally, I don't find this type of stuff funny it's pretty disturbing and disgusting- 7:43 - program? - You may have been surprised when the comedian, Himura Yuki/日村 勇紀 bit into a shoe. This is actually a "Is this chocolate or not?" prank. Some of these day to day items are made of chocolate and some are not. Just like how winning athletes at the Olympics bite down on their medals, this program also makes you bite down on the item you think is chocolate to confirm what it is. Recently, these are done with rocks on the show ドッキリGP. Anyways that's pretty much it. I watch these types of shows (not the erotic ones) a lot since my Japanese mother likes to watch them. There are a ton of wholesome pranks that do happen, especially considering that some of these scenerios are pretty outdated and probably wouldn't do well in today's society. It's very fun to watch Japanese commercials/shows out of context since they can seem really just straight up weird, but if you did want some insight on these pranks I hope this helped. I'll try to find out what these older programs are, but for the time being these are the ones I know :) I FORGOT TO ADD- these pranks seem pretty extreme, like the lion one and I'd just like to let you know that comedians do have a say in what they want to participate in. Now the more extreme pranks you participate in, the higher the wage is, but none of them are forced upon their will to do these things. However, comedians who are just starting up, or aren't that well known do take on extreme pranks or scenerios, which usually make me feel bad since it can be just too much (as in not funny, just pityful) but that's the life of a Japanese comedian-
The 6:32 is from the show ‘AKBingo!’ Which is AKB48’s (Japanese girl group) variety show. It’s been on for over 15 years and it used to be called something else( I can’t remember specifically but it was along the lines of ‘12:somthing pm’ as it was the only time slot they could get to broadcast the show. After year or so it was renamed ‘11:__ pm’ because their show was more popular so they were given a time slot in better public viewing hours. And then it was changed after another few years to AKBingo!! I am an AKB enthusiast check them out (They are the biggest member girl group in the world, and have multiple sister groups in other places of Japan aswell and countries like Malaysia or Indonesia)
The worst part of the shower bit is the person was dressed up as a Japanese water ghost/demon and they take ghosts really seriously. So he would of thought it was real for the rest of his life unless someone told him .
