Fantastic tone so right for this over wrought Franck ! He knows the voices are in both hands . This man lived in another time Busoni Hofmann,Lhevinne,Sirota,Petri ,Godowsky . He heard them all and listen to the end of the Prelude .Wow. I need to hear Cortot in this . A teacher I had over 20 years ago played his teacher Cortot's recording and I had no depth to hear Cortot. Listening is everything in piano playing fingers won't shape melody or color a sound alone !
Horszowski continues to play until the age of ninety-nine, with behind him a career that has lasted ninety years, certainly the longest in the annals of the piano. After a final concert in Philadelphia on October 31, 1991, he died in that city on May 22, 1993 at the age of one hundred years.

That sound. When you hear it, you know the pianist is not young. It's too mature, has too much depth to be anyone young. I love it. It's so personal.
Yes, I know what you mean . Wonderful.
On ne peut l'exprimer mieux que vous le faites.
He was giving concerts until he reached 100! His concert at the Wigmore Hall was amazing! Such a beautiful sound he had. It was a living miracle.
A reviewer commented at the time that he was actually older than the hall!
both the composer and the musician were geniuses. the rest of us are dust compared to them.
Splendid! Too many pianists beat the daylights out of the keyboard trying to make great (melo)drama. This is beautiful music. It touches the soul.
He played in this way when he was 94 years old. 94 years old! Incredible!
Sir Sciff András könyvében írt erről a nagyszerű művészről, köszönet érte. M.Horszowski tényleg csodákra képes.

How many times has this extraordinary work been mistreated...
This interpretation is unique, alongside Magda Tagliaferro, Bolet and very few others.

If a 94-year-old man with tiny hands can play Franck, then anything is possible.
It seems like it made him even more musical. The deliberate tempo works to serve the profundity of this piece.
@@marcmitchel25 the slower tempo is deeply stirring.... more passionate
@@marlenegregory9805 Yes, and only musicality pulls that off! Otherwise it's just self-indulgent (a lot of that out there).
94 year old pianist? That was incredible!
