I listened to this song what seems to be like thousand times and couldn’t understand why I connect with it so much. After a bad brake up I came up with a theory. The girl in the mv looks like Halsey, but with no make up and camera doesn’t really show her face much. She’s asian, cause they are in Japan, so it doesn’t really matter. The song called ghost and the whisper in the beginning suggested that there were never a girl there. I feel like the girl represents Halsey herself, and how she lost herself in a relationship with someone bad for her. She can’t help herself, she likes it, but she’s also aware. It’s like when we stuck in a loop of wanting someone else, because there is no “I” in this. And she’s wondering where is “she” i.e. her soul, because no guy can really fill that role.
