@@CALIFORNIAsGAMER a lot of things were cooked with oil, and oil adds a lot more calories than you'd expect. You can see the food shining in the end meals, so it's possible they added butter, marg, or some other calorie dense cooking product. The meat itself looks like more than 4oz. You could modify the meal, based off of these if you have a food scale. But I'm just saying it doesn't even appear that these were scaled out. If you're trying to eyeball something, especially off the video, it just would not work.
Niki K calories are calories. 1g of fat contains 9kcal, if you use 10ml of oil every time you cook it adds up! Some dishes require oil ofc, but the food that doesn’t need oil can be cooked in non-stick pans.
Niki K it’s literally science and it is ALL about calories lol. If you maintain a calorie deficit you will lose weight. If you are eating more calories in than you are burning you will gain. It is all about calories and just because you do keto doesn’t mean you can eat 3000 calories a day in bacon and lard and it’ll just pass right through 😂 not saying this is an unhealthy meal because of oil but they claimed 500 calories and that is absolutely incorrect. That chicken breast before the breading looks to be about 8 oz and that alone would be close to 400 calories.
Niki K Don’t speak on subjects you don’t even know about just because u have opinions on it. It IS ALL ABOUT CALORIES. Regarding weight loss and gain, u only lose weight Eating in a caloric defecit And gain weight in a caloric surplus. Regarding muscle gain and fat loss, there’s more to it Such as proportions of macros u eat: % Protein % carb etc. So if u eat in caloric surplus but u eat healthy (high protein, cut out carbs); u weight will increase because we established caloric surplus = weight gain, but your healthy eating will contribute to the weight gained as lean muscle. But calories is what fluctuates ur weight, period. scientifically and mathematically.
Gira Doll no, chicken don’t need more than 20 minutes for one filé...unless you want it dry af. It’s basic cooking and it said 20 minutes so why debate that?
Honestly, there's so many more ways to eat healthy dinners with a low amount of calories. It does'nt always have to be chicken or shrimps with green aspargus. You could make roasted veggies from the oven with some baked potatoes. A simple risotto with veg. A salad. Even pasta could have less or little more than 500 calories if you don't overload it with cheese and milk. Also, it's not necessary to count calories. You should always focus on eating healthy, balanced meals instead of calories. If you only eat a tiny amount of shrimps with aspargus and maybe rice, you won't be full for long. A balanced meal may have a little more than 500 calories, but it will keep you full until the next meal, stopping you from snacking on unhealthy, unnecessary calories.
It is about calories though. Calories in vs calories out. If you consume more calories than you burn you’re going to gain weight. I don’t think you need to count calories for the rest of your life but it’ll help you make better choices about your food.
Put the chicken into the tomatoe sauce. Without fat. Add garlic and onions, one diced carrot, cook until done. Add one teaspoon good olive oil. Season with salt, pepper and serve with a small serving of rice. 400 kcal. Tasty
Some of these chicken dishes need more sauce but I think the chickpea curry looks delicious! Also thank you for showing cutting the stems of the asparagus, cutting it in half, then throwing it in the pan. I always wondered if asparagus needed to be roasted or boiled before putting it in the pan and now I have my answer, no.
ANYTHING is only 500 calories if you only eat 500 calories worth of what you cook, even if that means 1/2 cup of your meal. I don't like this tutorial.
Wonderful post. I was really looking for that. It's hard to create a good diversity of low-calory recipes. You quickly get fed up and at risk of falling off the bandwagon. So this comes in really handy.
I love these receipes but it always makes nervous at the amount of oil they use in them, especially when it says "under 500 calories" but then you see the veggies or meet absolutely litered in cream and oil.
Not too big of a fan of bell peppers so the other day I substituted with poblano peppers with my chicken and enjoyed the flavor. I got the recipes from Chris Heria. Anyway my point is that y'all (the audience) should try different peppers with recipes. My next one to try is shishito peppers 🌶 😋
You can even make meat substitutions like tempeh instead of the steak and tofu instead of the shrimp and chicken! It still makes it high in protein and filling to keep you satiated (:
Can I replace the asparagus with fresh green beans? And can I use avocado oil instead? I'm not doing keto completely, I just can't but I've been saving recipes that are lower in calories.
Thank you for sharing, I will definitely try all your recipes. Personally, I don’t mind how much calories are they. I care about the recipes❤️😂👍🙌😍 new subscriber here
I started diet in the corona period and continuing in Ramadan, now 13 kilo i loose within 6 weeks.. i just taking 500 calories/day, skinned dals, kidney beans are boiling and eating, chicken and fish grilling @ induction cooker, adding salads, no carb last 6 weeks...
For a lot of foods having water in there is bad, as it just doesn't cook properly, and you end up having weird-tasting food because it's accidentally steamed.
These are all between 600 to 800 calories according to me except for the one with the shrimp and asparagus with 4 tbsp of olive oil. Even though the title is super misleading, I need to cut at 1200 calories so I think most of these could work for me, so I think I'll give it a go.
Seafood is high in nutrients, but as far as I know it's not as high in calories as you would expect. A portion of seafood is around 100 calories, with the exeption of the fattier fish like salmon. Those are around 200 calories for one serving. If you look out for the fact of overeating, seafood is fine in my opinion! 😉

you have to weigh the food and see how many servings is 500 cal
@yashma hasan OK so I weigh my food I know 4 ounces of chicken beast is 150 calories and 4 ounces of rice is 200 calories boom under 500 calories

Niki K u can’t really say that because if u have more calories than how much ur meant to in a day then you’ll put on weight instead of losing it
It’s about serving size at the end of the day. No issues in adding that much oil if you don’t plan to eat the whole thing in one sitting.
