Wow, the stem stitch is my favorite, but I never thought to go back through it with another thread. That sends it over the top. Just have to try it, now that you've shown what it looks like. Have a blessed day 🌈💛🙏💛🌈

So good to see the 'master' at work. It seems easy until I try.

The stem stich was the only stich I knew till watching your videos. I had no idea it could be this interesting. Your piece is beautiful. Thanks.

I actually really like stem stitch, find it useful, almost default too much to it! However I loved your free approach, never thought to vary stitch length in one line, but why not?? Thank you once again!

Seeing how to make that first stitch, and observing where the thread goes in relation to the needle was a fun lesson. Meandering the stitch was cool. Thank you.

Hi I think you are right an under valued stitch. I have to say I have only used it for straight lines and stems etc in the past. But you have for me hooked on the house of embroidery threads and between your videos and an expanding interest in different threads I definitely think my embroidery is becoming more interesting. Thank you for you inspiration

For my iPad your fabric always looked olive green. When you finished the stem stitch and showed us the design I first saw a T-Rex with the tiny forelegs. Then I saw the pink and painter’s thread legs and saw a flamingo and almost peacock tail in the shapes. After you did your seed stitch and French knots and showed how large the piece was I could see a crow/raven wings diving with its head and at least one if not two eyes. Can you tell I love seeing and creating images a la Rorschach Ink Blot tests!

Sandi H. Haha! I too saw a creature in the beginning. Now he’s been over taken with stitching. ❤️

Thank you for another great video. You gave me new insight to the stem stitch. In addition, making it easier for me to do the stitch. I'll be using it more. Love the cable look. You're a amazing teacher and I enjoy learning from you. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Well this opens up a whole new world in stitching. I have a piece of linen with all the shading and so going to give this a try! Then I can practice other stitches in between and still hopefully end up with a piece I can use. In the past I have done redwork using only the stem stitch as I was lousy at back stitch! LOL But it did get boring!

    • @ArianeZurcher212

Bobbi Delsing - the Backstitch can be fun to use too, especially if it’s organic looking (ie. not even and uniform!)

Ariane Zurcher - On the Other Hand I finally mastered the back stitch since discovering Sue Spargo. But now I will experiment with that too. Having Sue and You in my life has sure taught me a lot...plus...keeping me sane these past 6 months. What a blessing you two have been! So generous with your time and talents!
