How far back do these skills go, ie, Hero Gen. We are on gen 10

if you have gen 13 heroes and high level heroes. don't use heroes lower than gen 13 and you will burn.

Limitless and those Hero built System starts with Hero generation 7

It still works, the hero style counter game play was a thing before gen2 TA were even added to the game

It still works as in the hero skills are meant to “counter” the skills of opposing types, but in practice it tends to still fall flat depending on the heroes.
You would want the Gen 2 TA to actually have a good advantage when countering other hero types.

as the TTH and Digi already explained: Those are Independent from Gen2 TAs; Gen2 TAs just boost it further, but the counter system is in place with Gen17 already, but got even stronger with Gen18 hero builts as there´s no full potential of those availavble and on top with corresponding Resonating heroes, you´ll get an additonal boost

Joker, Wacko, Daryl sind schon lange raus aus dem Spiel was deren Relevanz angeht.
Dylan nur noch für wenige Events interessant, dann aber auch nur, wenn er maxed ist.
Olly - hatte genau eine Sternstunde mit Wolfe und ist seitdem nur mal als Randbemerkung spannend, wenn die Kämpfe unfassbar lange gehen, aber das geht fast keiner außer bei Siedlung-Attacken.
So bleiben nur noch die RE/TMNT-Helden, weil sie anders wirken als die bisherigen REsohelden
