Imran Khan is fighting for true democracy in Pakistan. The fight against the corrupt establishment and the corrupt political mafia families of Sharifs and Zardaris. His message resonates with the vast majority of the people of Pakistan. He is fighting politically in the elections and legally in the courts and the local and overseas Pakistanis. His demand is free and fair elections and that is all he is asking for and that is also necessary for a stable economy.

NO, that is a necessary thing but doesn’t solve Pakistan’s problems. As long as elected officials have to report to unelected generals, nothing will change in Pakistan. The executive and parliament need to be 100% accountable in a democracy. The military takes ‘orders’ from executive and parliament.

Unfortunately,he was not able to convict any of the corrupt against whom he based his political narrative on and he also failed to understand the ground realities of the army/political dynamics of the country. Moreover, his own party members proved to be as corrupt as those of his rival parties, and incompetent as well.

Imran khan at the least is an incompetent moron at worst he is a corrupt plutocrat, he literally said if there aren't new elections he will wage a jihad, that the actually word he used, its on video. he will wage a jihad against the government. he just as corrupt as the rest of them.

@@thedoctor.a.s1401 Pakistan is a mess. The mess is because army thinks it knows what is right for Pakistan. As Indians always complain - most countries have an army and the army serves its people and protect them. In the case with Pakistan, Pakistan army has a country at its disposal to serve it. How unfortunate. This setup causes problems for Pakistanis and rest of the world. The generals end up becoming rouge to neighbors and the world over with nukes.
What will change this? Only the world putting heavy pressure and Pakistanis rising up to change it. Change won’t come from PDM because they are all raised by the army. Even IK.
So much for a country whose leaders fought to make a land for Indian Muslims. It is a complete mess. India is paying a huge price for this problem child on its borders.

Pakistan is mired in a serious political and economic crisis. The change of government in April this year, with the removal of Imran Khan from his role as prime minister, has not improved economic confidence. Imran Khan’s ouster was the latest episode in a long saga of intervention by the Pakistani military in the country’s politics. What is novel about the current situation is that the military itself appears to be divided in its attitude toward Khan. This is likely to fuel new cycles of instability in Pakistan.

Pakistan has slid into a dark night of terror and repression . Ever since this regime (a coalition of thugs and benighted Mullas) was brought into power , it has unleashed a reign of terror in the country . The inhuman way that peaceful protesters specially women and children were tear gassed on the night of 25th of July , beaten up , and threatened with pointed guns is without precedence . The man in charge of security is a notorious criminal , who carried out the Model Town massacre , murdering and maiming scores of innocent protestors , in cold blood ,but has evaded justice till now .
The case of brutal torture of Shabaz Gill makes for a blood-chilling reading . He was abducted in open daylight after his car windows were smashed open and was dragged into a waiting car . Hand-cuffed and blind folded he was taken to a building , which was not a police station . For days while his distraught family looked for him , he was subjected to the most horrendous physical and mental torture that mirrored the torture of political prisoners in repressive Middle Eastern regimes . In the mean time the police raided the house of his driver ,who had gone into hiding and arrested his wife and ten months old daughter .
When Imran Khan spoke against these injustices and gross violation of human rights , he was charged under the “Terrorism Act” and also “Contempt of Court”. He had questioned as to why Shabaz Gill , an academic , suffering from asthma and with no criminal record , was again insensitively placed into police custody , after enduring excruciating torture ,for days ,at the hands of”unknown persons”.
To hide its demonic acts of widespread political persecution , repression and gross human violations of Human Rights ,this illegal regime has gone on a rampage of arresting journalists and shutting down TV channels and media outlets that dare to report it’s crimes . Pakistan is in the throes of a “reign of terror”.

I think PM Albanese meant it when he expressed support for Assange but you don't get what you want from "great powers" by shouting at them. We badly damaged our relations with China under the previous government by shouting at them. Hopefully we may have learned that lesson.

A "legal action" might relate either to an arrest warrant or to terrorist suspicions, depending on the foundations of law, not the processes of censorship. If an "American-backed regime change causes reform over the "legal" part, then the causes of action must produce the effects of justice in society, not its existence in the world. Thus the suspicion is the result of the popularity, not the justice in either the regime deposed or the one enforced.
The path from a legal action to a social decision is much more complex, but the foundation of any regime must be the writ of habeas corpus ("show me the body") not some declaration of human rights, as opposed to any concept of "terror" associated with "pathos" opposite "pity" since Aristotle described the mechanics of poetry, the source of eloquence in rhetoric as wisdom is the proposed result of logic in society. Habeas Corpus guarantees that judgement is always associated with review, which is explicitly unlike the applications of sh'ria law historically while terrorism is more associated with "rogue" contexts of political change among individuals, not actual forms of government designed to secure justice under some "War Against Terror" which applied unequally between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Thus any structure of government becomes inherently partisan in nature as the structures of power or control may choose between devices like censorship and arrest or resolve the problems of propaganda dominating social consciousness in either country.
Thus the Taliban are caught in the middle, between resistance to both Soviet and American forms of empire in a process which has branded them "terrorist" in the course of seizing their sovereign assets as the warring, then the dominant force of those regions absent imperial motives.

BUT and a BIG BUT, if you are being true with your judgement you will understand he was only in power for about 1 and a bit years and the military "usually" dictates what happens, so he has not only had a very short window to try and make changes, but OUTSIDE of the office he has infact highlighted that change IS ESSENTIAL and he's become the lightning rod for that change. So to me this is the important part with him.
It's basically like Churchill as an example, he was brilliant at public speaking and was exactly what Britain needed in war time but he was a crappy leader who outside of that war space did nothing good or of note. But he WAS STILL the right person at the right time .
These are very different situations but Khan is the right person at the right time. You can't deny that surely?🤔

@@ronburgandy1475 khan pretended to be the right person at the right time. People of pakistan voted for him only because of his popularity (as a cricketer and a playboy). The sad part is, both imran khan’s party and other parties are equally evil and corrupt. Earlier governments did massive corruption but atleast they tried to control inflation and did some developmental projects for the nation(between the period of late 90s to 2010s). But under khan, that also stopped. A good orator will be of no use if he or his cabinet has no clue how to run a country.
The major fault here is that of pakistani people, they themselves dont care about economy and development. They are infested with this idea of riasat e madina and radical islam. And imran khan propagates that further.
Thats why the public dont have the guts to rage a civil disobedience against the ruling class and make them
to work for nation’s progress and not dirty politics. What pakistan needs is a new mindset by the pakistani people and full fledged civil disobedience until the ruling government and army is compelled to work for the betterment of the nation. Otherwise pakistan’s politics and army will continue to make sure that pakistan remains a 3rd world isolated failed state.

All this happened exactly after spy Chief of ISI was changed back in August (not to mention the Lt Gen who got that coveted spot met US Magistrate d Affaires only a couple weeks before that) and that the spy chief wasn't appointed by Khan as was his prerogative as PM rather the COAS forced that certain someone which created more tension between IK & mly.
And then there's the Cypher from Donald Lu, US secretary for South Asian affairs threatening Establisment to oust Khan, the existence of which has even been accepted by current PM as well as many other politicians on television.
Imagine that this coalition of 20 parties includes leftists, liberals, terrorism apologists, extremist Islamists (who use religion to create unrest),.....they have nothing in common except that IK threatens the hegemony of these dynasties led parties and ofcourse the Mly Establishment's clout is under threat for the first time since the 70s.
Combine these parties common interests with CIA wanting Mly bases in Pakistan and IK's response of "Absolutely Not"; add to it IK's Russia visit to secure Oil, gas and wheat deal since they were giving upto 30% discount to global market price provided Pakistan was willing to deal in Rubles-Ruppees; another major red line for US.
