    YOU MUSL LISTEN TO "ONE OK ROCK - Clock Strikes - [2023 Luxury Disease Japan Tour]"! YOU ARE GOING TO FLIP FROM HIS LONG NOTE! I KNOW I DID AND I EVEN HEARD IT LIVE. STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! AND ONE MORE GREAT LIVE OF THEIRS IS "ONE OK ROCK 3xxxv5 Take me to the top Live"

    • @Fatalistic_Viking
      @Fatalistic_Viking 5 місяців тому +5

      You don't want them to know about that note going into the song, it'll still blow then away but not as much.
      Check out the Nagisaen version of take me to the top. They wrote a unique instrumental for it, and that show is incredible overall.

      @Fatalistic_Viking
      I've listened to clock strikes thousands of times and I was still blown away from that performance, I'm sure they will be as well.
      Thank for the recommendation. It was awesome , OOR can do no wrong.

      @@elinor713 don't get me wrong they will definitely be speechless, but going in blind would've been amazing. There are fan cams with him holding it even longer.
      Not a lot of people seem to know about Nagisaen, even though it's one of, if not their best concert. Mighty Long Fall at it was my favorite, mainly because of the crowd. Then I found the version from the Dead Pop Fest in 2018. They have so many incredible live versions that people don't know about.

    Taka said in an enterview that he writes the songs in English first and then puts the Japanese lyrics in. There are songs that are entirely in Japanese. They are so humble. They definitely love their fans. You should watch some of the fan Cams of their tours in the USA, and you'll see how they give a stadium performance for a small venue, regardless of the stage props. ❤❤❤❤

    Something you guys should consider doing is react to two different live versions of one song and see how different they can be. Taka will sing it somewhat different depending on the song or they'll rearrange it, like they did for their tour with a full orchestra.
    A great example is C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h. The Field of Wonder version is in an empty stadium with Taka singing with a violin and acoustic guitar. It was dedicated to a friend who died. Then the 2016 Nagisaen version starts with Taka playing an acoustic guitar alone, with the band coming in later.

    There's a version of this from the 35xxxv tour where it leads into the song "One by One" that's awesome. Taka goes into the crowd and a girl throws her bra at him.
    If you really want to see them make a mistake watch "Jibun Rock" live at Yokohama arena 2013. Taka actually forgets the lyrics at one point. I think you'll like how it's written, plus you get to really see the drummer go off.
    There is also "Nobody's Home" live at Yokohama arena 2012. This song is incredibly personal too Taka. At one point he stops singing because the emotions got to him. Plus instead of that perfect pitch there are times it's pure raw emotion. He wrote the song for his parents to apologize for everything that led up to him running away and his parents basically disowned him. He was 16.

      they didn't disown him, they just threatened him as he was going wild, started drinking and smoking. He ran away but his dad found him soon after and they made up.

    • @Fatalistic_Viking
      @Fatalistic_Viking 5 місяців тому +2

      @@Xia-hu I know that he talks about it in the documentary but there's a lot to the story. I actually found an old interview he gave where he talked about it in detail. The main reason they told him to leave is because he told them that he was dropping out of school. The tobacco and alcohol was the final straw. Kicking him out was pretty much disowning for the Japanese. He wanted to pursue his career in rock and they didn't. He didn't really talk to his parents for a while. His relationship with his dad was so bad that when his parents divorced he took his mom's name. He was pretty rebellious even back in middle school because of his home life. Being home really wasn't comfortable for him.

    • @Xia-hu
      @Xia-hu 5 місяців тому +1

      @@Fatalistic_Viking he ran away on his own. His mom would have never kicked him out to live on the street. He talks about this in flip a coin. And also in one of the episodes of Takeru 's yt channel where he tells how restaurant work humbled him. In flip a coin he also says his dad found his workplace and they made up. That was before his parents divorce. He took his mom' s name cuz she got custody of him while his brothers stayed with his dad. I'm sure we don't know the full story but these are things he said on camera.

    • @Fatalistic_Viking
      @Fatalistic_Viking 5 місяців тому +1

      @@Xia-hu I've tried leaving a link to the interview but it never works. What he said was that his parents kept telling him to go to school but wouldn't, so after a while they told him to leave, so he did. You're correct about the divorce part, I misinterpreted it since he was talking about how having his dad's name left a lot of bad memories and it was like a new beginning when he got hers.

    J-ROCK and J-POP are heavily influenced by western music, so it is common for the lyrics of choruses to be English words or sentences, and not just by ONE OK ROCK. The more often a band performs abroad, the more English lyrics are used. Another reason is that one aspect of the choice is based on the characteristics of each language in order to fit the lyrics comfortably to the melody and rhythm.
    Thank you for reacting to ONE OK ROCK !

    As a since debut fan of OOR, this is the type of band that always eats their albums alive. The albums are amazing, but every live I've been to has been even better. I own more live concert blurays than I do their albums. lol

    Deeper deeper at Yokohama and Cry Out Ambitions live are a must.
    And you'd realize the difference between live and recorded voice. The recorded has a bit of distortion or filter, Taka goes all out live, clear, even in screamo mode or grit.
    On the English take, as a non english native, I communicate in english on social media, 95% of my close moots are not English speakers. It became an international language. It's not about appealing to american audiences, but non japanese audiences.
    Love from Argentina

    Love your reactions!!^^They are with 2 record labels so they make songs both in English and Japanese. Some are entirely in English or mix of Japanese, early songs have more Japanese. In any case, all songs are so enjoyable, I recommend some favourites of mine here^^

    100% English song? Make It Out Alive composed for the Moster Hunter Now video game is an example, but I prefer his covers of Adele songs like Hello or his duet with Journey's lead singer (Arnel?) of Open Arms.
