That Morlun rant around the 16-minute mark is amazing. When you have the rogues' gallery that Spider-Man has, you need a reeeeally good reason for a new villain to stand out. Rogol Zaar is DC's equivalent of Morlun for similar reasons.
@@jok86er The PS1 Spider-Man game has a What-If mode, which adds a lot of jokes and visual gags. One of those gags is that Mysterio now has a fish swimming inside his helmet during his boss battle.

JMS's run on Spider-Man is probably my favourite(?) because of all the Mary Jane/Peter relationship stuff in it. Like the Doomed Affairs issue where they're stuck in an airport when shit hits the fan and they reconcile is one of my favourite issues of Spider-Man full stop. Closely followed by Confessions. Though my favourite Spider-Man story of anything is hands down Spider-Man: Blue. It's just the best.
JMS had some really great stories during his run, but also some really terrible ones like _Sins Past_, _The Other_ and _One More Day_ (though to be fair, two of those weren't really his fault).
Masked Guy Yeah, for me, he's a 7/10 writer. Most of the time, he's got some real good stuff. The rest of the time, however, he writes "Strange: Beginnings and Endings" and "The Other". But even then, I did find The Other mildly interesting. But it wasn't done well enough to keep that interest going.
XMenOrangesTangerine That's exactly how I feel. That being said, I still consider _Coming Home_, _The Conversation_, _Doomed Affairs_, _Skin Deep_ and _Back in Black_ to be some of the better Spider-Man stories of the 21st century. Since _Sins Past_ and _One More Day_ were more the fault of editorial interference, _The Other_ is the only really bad Spidey story that JMS has written in my opinion.
@@joshuanelson6795 why does everyone hate on the other? It turned spidey from a science hero to a science plus magic hero. It opened up a ton of avenues for peter to go down in. While this might not be the greatest spidey event, not long before this the sort of precursor brought back my favourite Spidey. Miguel motherf'in O'Hara. Love me some 2099. So glad he kept his own book after Secret Wars.
At 52:00, yeah I agree with Sal about the Spock being the one the get Uncle Ben off his ass is stupid. Cause this story like a lot of Vol.3 of ASM seemed to under mind the end of Superior to say "no Otto was the better Spider-Man/Peter". Cause you had everyone from Aunt May, Anna Maria, Shajani, some of the heroes, ext ext talk about how much better Otto was over him. Peter says he owes the man who tried to kill him and stole his life thanks for giving him back his life, making him a doctor and owning his own company . Then you get to this event and Peter's an useless idiot, while Otto takes charge, comes up with game plans, and inspires Uncle Ben.
Honestly, problems and all, I love Spider-Verse. Like The Inheritors as villains works just fine for me since I hadn't read any of the other books Morlun was in. Also just the different teams of Spider-People just really make it fun for me, cause it makes me want to learn more about their stories.
They even used Hostess fruit pie ad Spider-Man, Six arm, Spectacular Spider-Ham and Newspaper comic Spider-Man. Also Mayday and Spider Uncle Ben show up in the Secret Wars: Spider Island comic as part of a unrelated story.
I know this event is dumb and has a lot of problems, but I really like just for the fan service. We got a Spider-Gwen out of this event. You guys are great as always. Have you thought about doing a Back Issues on the Death of Ultimate Spider-man?
Assassin Spider-Man is probably the strongest Spider-Man, not including Cosmic Spider-Man. Assassin Spider-Man trained his spider sense to the point of sensing danger 30 min before and his training allows him to sense killing intent. Mixed with his way of the spider and training from Wolverine and a master assassin. Black Widow was even a joke to him.
The reason Superior Spider-Man learns Peter Parker 616 is from the future not the past. - When Otto gets to the future, he's given a holographic assistant. He changes this to look like his girlfriend, Anna Maria Marconi. Peter notices and says "You made it look like Anna Maria Marconi?" and Ock is like "yes".... then thinks "Wait, how does Peter know who that is...."
Spider-Gwen was not 15-16, but most likely 18 during the event cause in Edge of Spider-Verse her father says something like "You need to be more responsible now, cause you're no longer in high school"
I would love to see a back issues on an event or series, where you absolutly love the story, even for its flaws but personally you just resonate with it and though hey thats pretty good.
+Austin Welt Yes! Despite rolling my ideas at the idea of her, I found Cindy immediately likeable. (And her solo series really is great.) Favorite Silk moment from this event: her sneering dislike of Spider-Gwen (to paraphrase: "Yeah, *everyone* loves her") in the Spider-Woman tie-in series.

JP Spiderman's mech was the inspiration for Super Sentai, aka what would be used for Power Rangers, to have a Megazord
Super Sentai ran for a few years before Supaidaman, but it did inspire the use of mechs in later seasons.
