Ok everyone! Vanessa here putting in my two cents! Alexandra totally gets me and understood what I needed for functionality for the office. I never sit for hours on end so no need for a traditional office chair... not to mention it wouldn't have gone with the aesthetics of the space or our brand. The table in the middle of the room allows me to look outside at the green space (lucky me!) and I find the functionality of a large work space in the middle of the room great for packaging, planning, designing and reviewing our brand with my business partner Sandra. I absolutely adore it 💗 and haven't changed a thing, maybe I could work on keeping it tidy 🙋🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Ok as long as you happy it is great but please please take the modem out of the box find a basket preferably metal with lots of wholes and just turn the basket on the modem if really bothers you to see it. Fire hazard hot modem hot cords etc. Enjoy your work place. Good luck with your business.
I totally get the table in her office, it reminds me of a communal workspace. She is a mother of 3 young kids, this space has enough room for all of them if need be; I imagine her working, her children drawing, playing, endless possibilities! Way to go Alexandra.
This makeover was one that had a lot of organizational elements, along with nautral and neutral tones. I really loved that along with the shelves (the new ones and the ones already there), as well as the organizational floor storage. Kudos!
As a professional organizer, I highly approve of this office! 💗 It is gorgeous and functional. The computer chords other people have mentioned are not really an issue these days because most people use laptops, and charging it only requires one chord when it is needed. As for the printer, I run a business as well and my printer is stored in a cabinet because it is used pretty infrequently in these days of digital files. When I do need to use my printer, I pull it out and plug it in and use it and replace it when done. It is not heavy or a big deal, and it leaves my space feeling so much more peaceful without it being visible all the time. I know that not everyone's business or lifestyle will work with that but it certainly does work for a lot of people. 💗 And gorgeous job with the labeled boxes!! 😁👍
Thank you for this. I recently just got done redoing my own office and if it weren’t minimal and aesthetically pleasing, I wouldn’t use it. It wouldn’t inspire me and I wouldn’t go in there to work. For most people, a printer is only used occasionally and I personally don’t need supplies at the ready, almost everything I do is virtual. I also like all of the seating at the desk, would make it easy to have meetings if anyone ever came over. The point is that an office needs to work for the individual - maybe this office wouldn’t work for many of the commenters, but it would work for me and many others. We all have to cater to our individual needs!
Whoever did your makeup for the sit-down in front of your book shelf did an amazing job!! Your skin is looking glowing, the eyelids have a nice sheen, and the lip pairs great with your complexion!
I don't know how Vanessa works or what her daily works habits entail, but aesthetically speaking it's really on brand. I looked at the fique + clay instagram page and the clean, muted pastel aesthetic is really complimentary to their ethos and I am assuming that it's really different from the rest of the house so when Vanessa walks in that room it really feels like fique + clay. As for people complaining about how much the light cost, Alexandra had a budget and used it as she saw fit. I am sure that after Alexandra leaves most people add there own touches into the room to customise it to their own personal liking by adding, moving or taking something away. I'm really glad that Vanessa liked the makeover - it's really pretty.
Yeah same! I got super confused. All I could think about is if was Vanessa I wouldn’t be completely happy with the makeover cause it is an office after all
Yes! I cant imagine myself work for hours on that bench or that chair, even having my client sitting on the bench feel unprofessional for me. The bench create too much intimacy for a work space
I was thinking that too. And there’s not really any easy access to plugs for her to charge her phone or computer. It might not be the most functional but it is pretty. Maybe it’ll work for Vanessa’s purposes if she’s spending most of her time drawing or something, but I don’t think it’d last that way for me. I need pens and postits and plugs and all that stuff for my work.
Me tooo i was sooo confused like give the poor women a proper chair n professional space tht can host clients at n be proud not a dining table n a bench
I love minimalism but if it's an office, one HAS to cater to chords! A printer tucked away is not always handy, and a laptop or pc wud have chords, esp if one is working for a few hours together... so where does she plug in to work? Plus, with small kids in the house who may run in, proper chord management becomes that much more important. Also, a laptop screen with the window behind may not be ideal (assuming she sits on the chair to work). I wud prefer the screen to be at an angle or keep the window in front of the workspace, so that there is no reflection and the person can look up for awhile and have a nice view to rest the eyes. For these reasons, would love to see a follow-up for designed spaces - to see how the client actually ends up using the space in real life, for future reference n learning ☺
The client has replied to her Instagram post in a very positive manner. Apparently she has been using this office for 6 months now and is very happy with it.
For me this makeover is great. I work from home and I have 2 laptops and a monitor. Such a desk is a must. Mine is actually an ikea dining table. Oh, and I sometimes do eat in front of computers, so need that extra space. And funny enough I have the same style chairs, they are very comfortable and you can stretch your back by tipping over. As for hiding the printer. Guys, it’s an option! It’s nice to be able to hide it! It’s a pain when you have to always have everything on display. Great job, Alexandra!
I disagree with a lot people here this room is beautiful she can pull things out that she needs to use then set it back into the right organized order when finished. Function & Fancy together ... what a perfect mix. God knows when you are working from home you need both. Good job!
I LOVE this makeover!! I have been using a dining table as a desk for years because I huge cutting mat that I use for sewing and crafting and regular desks don't quite work. And while I don't have kiddos (aside from our kitties haha), I can totally see hers camping out on that bench while mom gets her work done! ❤
I am confused by the kitchen table as many others. Would have liked to hear a bit more about the why. Is the mom of three maybe joined by her kids during work? For instance, the kids do their homework or just draw something while she is working? (youngest just startet school, right?). Does she also need a place to meet with customers/partners that is off from the rest of the family home? Or a good place to stage her clay products? Like, a table is more versatile than a desk, and I personally have worked at one before too.
This is amazing!! People are so harsh the comments. I see their points, but they also don´t have the same office needs as your client obviously has. Neither do they know everything your clients say they want before the actual makeover. So, I absolutely love this makeover because it makes me think out of the box, and I find the dinner table idea really inspiring. Thank you for all your great videoes, Alexandra! Big hug from Norway!
Yes, I enjoy her channel and she is very creative, funny, and sweet. I really like her and she is talented. In this makeover, I don't know what she could have done to really change the functionality that much, I mean, it's an office. But, I would have loved to have seen some other accessories other than the same type she often includes from other shows (hanging basket light, the faux fur, and same light colors). I loved the long brown desk too. She's been using the same decorating ideas and products for a while now and it isn't very original.
I'm glad someone said it. The table could have been closer to the shelves and have a nice seating area with comfy chairs. I'm tired of the same looking light fixtures in every makeover she does.
I love everything about this makeover. It looks like one of those fancy, fresh stores in Yorkville. Organized, calm, beautiful and inviting. Also, Alexandra's looking extra gorge!
hii alexandra i'm going to be a stickler for a sec... on shelves like that those succulents are just going to die. they need to be in a window sill. i am sorry to be annoying but as a plant person it really makes me sad to think about how those plants are just going to die a slow death. could you incorporate trailing plants like pothos or vining heart-leaf philodendron into your next makeover instead? the green vines would also look very nice contrasted against all of the white, and, it is an easy plant for non-plant people to care for
I love the color palette and the baskets. The space seems to work well for the client. I’m probably missing something but maybe this room isn’t an office and more of a collaborative work space? In that case it’s perfect. But again, there’s no personal office chair or anything
Or maybe she is doing different things every day, like meetings, shipping, photography, email. I think the client is taller than I am but a dining table would be too high for me to work on a computer, so maybe some adjustable leveling feet would be helpful on that table.
I love the vibe of this place. It feels like a showroom for the brand so I guess it would be inspirational space to work in. I have used dining tables as desks and really like having the space. I have also been in a home office that had the desk/dining table in the middle of the room. I liked the versatility, being able to choose which side to sit on, depending on how I felt, or what I wanted to look at. I also like having a bench.
I love it! Every bit of it! She obviously loves it! You have such a great way of making rooms look like that’s the way they always should have! Thank goodness for people like you, we would all do what we always have done!
Loved this makeover - much more inspiring space that didn't feel like a typical stress-filled 'home office'. The mix of colour, texture, layout and placement was really thoughtfull and represented the client's brand without over thinking it. The dining table was genius! Well done!
I love the pale mint green paint, the table, chairs, bench and light fixture. To add a punch of color to the wall with shelving that is bland, I'd regroup just four of the colored prints where they are and hang the other two on top of each other on the wall next to the shelves. It'd also be great to add a larger framed piece with color over the desk. This way your room is balanced with neutrals and colors all the way around to create a better flow. Also, you might want to consider using a Cricut machine for your labeling. It makes a more professional statement, and there are so many fonts to choose from.
You have gotten so good at this. You look really pretty and professional. This is your style and anyone who likes it should get your help and hire you.
I loved the idea of using a gorgeous dining room table as a desk. But I have to ask - how was that table suppose to be actually used as a desk for her company? The two chairs and bench threw me off.
We’re does the computer cord go? And I can say, from experience, tucking the printer away , in such a small space, doesn’t work. Also, the trash can needs to be by the desk.
You did such amazing work! You really incorporated the stylings of the her brand into a clean and welcoming space. Way to boost the appeal of her products! You've gotta be what emoty rooms dream of, lol. Great job!
Just liked the books on those cool shelves. It gave the room some interest and didn’t look so sterile. Lined up white boxes doesn’t do it for me, but I realize it’s subjective.
This was a stunning space!!! My practice soul would personally put the printer on the desk because I use it so much 😂. I have a dream that in a few years when I move back into my own space again, I can afford to hire you and your team bring my own vision to life, but I wasn’t sure if you did that (I can visualize what I want but need the experts to take it off my mind page) or if you only do surprise makeovers?? I love your work and wish you much success!! As for the white fluff baby at the end 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🏽
Looks great. I'm a bit older, so I'd need a real office chair ... but love the amount of space on that dining room table and the soft pink chairs for for visitors/clients. And yes, that cat has a doctorate in cute!!
Wow, this one is really pro. Your style normally particularly speaks to young people/teenagers, but here you showed that this is not your only target public :) great job!
It’s beautiful! I get the point of practicality in the comments... I guess it would be helpful to understand how the office space works? Maybe not everyone sits at the desk for hours, maybe it’s a space where people need to meet and discuss, etc. It wouldn’t work for me but it doesn’t mean it can’t work for someone else. Loving the blush and gold chairs!
This looks nice and may fit the aesthetic of Fique + Clay, but I agree with mostly everyone else, it doesn’t seem functional. That trash can so far away from the actually working space, no drawers near the table, those chairs. Also, I feel like Alexandra works in the same design element all the time. A room always feels like her tastes instead of her client. It’s the same pale pink, “sage green”, rattan light fixtures. I’m dying for something different.
Robbie Sue Eichman I just keep hoping one day she’s going to surprise us like “what all that smack y’all was talking”. I get having something you’re known for, but the spaces are for other people. Everyone doesn’t want pink, some abstract wallpaper or print somewhere, Pom Pom and tassels, and especially the variations of rattan light fixtures.
Looks really beautiful! Could you do a makeover for an artist sometime! I make paintings, and other creative things, and I struggle to keep my workspace organized. Could use some example as inspiration. The painting easel is always in the way, when I'm working on a painting, everything looks messy and cluttered. And I struggle to throw things away, like stuff for making bracelets, eventhough I haven't actually made one in 2 years...

I love the makeover, but is no one going to talk about how stunning and radiant and gorgeous Alexandra looks in a red lip and dangly earrings?
@Destiny Alvarez Yeah she got her makeup artist back it seems? pandemic lifting and all there
She does look extra beautiful !
So agree! Love that hairstyle with the earrings and lip color
Totally agree!!!
and with the eyeliner! loved her makeup

I agree it was pretty nice before, and it’s even better now.
Red lipstick, hair style and these earrings look gorg on you 💋
Yes! Looking elegant and sophisticated!
I love the simplicity of the makeover, every piece looks artfully curated. Very nice and I'd love to work in there.
This product decor really is a hit
I thought it was a good idea to use a dining table as a desk, but then she styled it as a dining table and I got confused!

No!!! The modem needs ventilation!!
I was expecting some basket with holes in in it instead of a box
yess I was hoping someone would say thisss
Take the lid off and it is already better
Not only needs ventilation, but also the wifi signal! Why nobody thinks about the wifi signal!?
@@MoonAisPad as a wifi signal will go through concrete walls, it'll manage to go through a carton lid, don't you think?
there are 3 holes in the box.
I really love how this makeover turned out.
I love those pink chairs!!
I LOVE that light and perfect for how big that space is.
I think this is my fave makeover. So much inspo! It is BEAUTIFUL

Vanessa, I visited your website and love your products. Your new office will help you to take your business far. Congratulations!

Love the room! But where did she get that floating shelf and cabinet from before the makeover?! It’s stunning
This is really lovely well done.
Alexandra is the queen of aesthetic but honestly sometimes the functionality of these rooms seem off
same
That beautiful long brown desk that matched more could have been repurposed. And the shelving needed to be rustic brown not black... IMO

Beautiful job and your hair and makeup is amazing
Love the transformation! 😍😍😍
It’s really nice!!
Best make over you have ever done! 👏 well done
Great job
Soooooo cute!!!
Probably my favorite makeover you’ve ever done. It’s so clean & Scandinavian but with some pops of warm tones and color. Just wow. Great job.
First of all stunning Alexandra!!😍 and the make over 🤎
I 👏🏿 love 👏🏿 this 👏🏿 office 👏🏿
Sweet little girl baby gater!
Beautiful!
I love the rest of the decor, but I feel like you should have kept the desk from before. It looks like a closed off dining room now.
I feel like that table makes sense if this is a room for the kids to do homework but not for a business woman with computers
It looks beautiful ! Love that table/desk !!
Another beautifully done room :) Also, you worked that red lip!
Really great job! So pretty! 👍🏻😊♥️
