    Okay, what happened to the Show Frontmatter option?

    • @lotsa2000
      @lotsa2000 8 місяців тому

      When I typed --- at the very top of the document, it popped up a Properties panel that I could use. When I typed it elsewhere, it treated "tags: Evergreen_notes" as a header 1 instead of as YAML.

    I dont have "Show Fontmatter" anymore :(

    • @Fredricon
      @Fredricon 8 місяців тому +9

      Apparently it has been moved. You now have to set "Properties in document" to "Source" if you want to see the YAML code. This setting is in the same section that "Show Fontmatter" was. Also know that you can't have any lines after the title before you write the YAML. The YAML has to come right after the title. Hope this helps.

  • @KipIngram

    There is no "show frontmatter" option in my settings/Editor. It looks like this is done in my version by checking "source mode" in the ... menu of a document when in edit mode.

    I saw a different method with double colon :: to give values to parameters what can be used in dataview.
    The advantage is that don't need to be at the top of the note as I saw in the video at Nicole.

    I am confused about the yaml format for tags you are suggesting. You did it right with the square brackets and the comma. But when you changed by adding new lines, you aren't using any commonly known syntax. You should prefix each line with "-" to indicate it's an item of a list. I am not sure if it's a strange list-style or it is actually interpreting it as a dictionary with your tags as keys and null for values.

    Hi, so whenever I type three dashes markdown automatically converts this to a line. How can I stop that from happening?

    • @FromSergio
      @FromSergio  Рік тому

      That's by design. Since you're commenting on the yaml video, I'm assuming you meant to type backticks? (`). If not then I don't think there's a way to stop it

    • @jharris3637
      @jharris3637 Рік тому

      @@FromSergio Thanks. It was the dashes - to create the frontmatter/metadata. I think possibly it was one of two things. Either instead of typing "---" I had added a space or something small like that and markdown was picking it up. Or I had some text before the metadata section (which you already mention in the video).

    • @FromSergio
      @FromSergio  2 роки тому +2

      Hi, i'm afraid not as that wouldn't make sense to put in a yaml header, it won't tell you the header is invalid but obsidian will not recognize the link. You'll have to put your links outside the yaml header

    when adding a new book note it is duplicating the book in the reading list. I f I change the staus say from "to Read" to reading, it moves the title to the appropriate list but leaves the duplicate in the original list. Thoughts?

    I have a list of tickers and dates, its quite long. I need to have the time stamp for the high and the low of the day in csv.
    By knowing which which came first I can effectively test and adjust a trading system.
    Basically if you could enter a list of tickers and dates and retrieve high and low timestamps you could do an absolute back test on a method.
