I believe your right!, I looked at the original footage and there's turret flying around on the map screen for split second after i died.
Maxes are the only target I'd use the three round burst from the Jackhammer on. Because of the size of their hit boxes and their slow movement speed.
Before the Jackhammer got nerfed I auraxed it with the 3 round burst, but to each there own.
