    I just love your laughing! It’s incredible how much some parents are completely delusional. As you say, the parent’s job is to show their kids life AS IT IS, not as they would like it to be. What really scares me is the fact that these children will grow up thinking they are the center of the world…

    This reminds me of a childcare center once where one of the parents asked us if we could MOVE OUR GYM so her child could take a nap, since the child was being kept awake from the kids playing in the gym. WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?? Remodel the whole building ?

    As a lefty.. I feel seen and heard, finally. My 4th grade teacher sent me to the occupational therapist to learn how to "cut correctly because something was wrong with me." I'm still traumatized 30 years later and you're damn right I have left handed scissors now. Suck it, 4th grade teacher.

    We had a parent bring her child to preschool wrapped in only a towel. In the middle of winter. Happened again in summer. Mom dropped off the kid and bolted before anyone could do anything. Had to call her to come get her naked kid

    True story: kindergarten showed up to school in pajamas and slippers every day because he argued with mom about getting dressed. I guess the teacher complained…So, mom started sending him in his pajamas still, but with a complete change of clothes! Then they transferred him to MY class!!!!! Whhhhyyyyyy???? What did I have to do with any of it?????

    That left handed thing...in the 70's teachers actually tried to do this to me! Soooo i am ambidextrous. Because I am left handed!

    My daughter and her friends buy so much stuff for her children’s teachers, I’m talking about amazing things, everything from lamps to rugs and all the supplies you’ll need, there’s even wine, chocolates and snacks for her/him. They say if these people teacher can put up with my children every day of the then they deserve to be showered with thank you gifts. lol I agree too.
    You’re wonderful. ❤

    Teachers are contract employees, paid for the days school is in session, not paid for breaks, holidays, weekends, or summer time. The government figured out they could spread out our pay through the year. When I started in 1975 I had the choice to be paid during the nine months I worked or spread out over the summer.

  • @denyshadials5702
    @denyshadials5702 13 днів тому +29

    Y’all gotta stop talking about our pay checks as if we owe you back child support or something…it’s YOUR child. You’re legally responsible for them. You not having paid time off is a conversation between you and your employer. You haven’t noticed all these teachers out here fighting for what they believe in? Get your coworkers together and hop to it.

    I had a parent email asking me how to get her child out of bed for school.The “ child” was 17 years old. I didn’t respond.

    • @krystal5z
      @krystal5z 8 днів тому

      If the child is this age, the parent has to be at least double that number... so about 34 years old or older. It concerns me that someone in their 30s and up wouldn't know these sorts of questions/ troubles would be best directed to a family therapist, or to a teacher of a parenting class or someone in similar occupations. Parents certainly sound like they get too personal with teachers. If you need more attention/ extra support, perhaps paying a mentor for guidance... or a tutor for more individualized academic support.

    • @hcrobin
      @hcrobin 11 днів тому

      Conference days are on the calendar at the start of the year. That should give you plenty of time to notify your employer. Now if your employer is threatening to fire you if you take a few hours off for a school conference there that is whole different conversation.

    Parents seriously need to stop abdicating their authority to their kids! The authority shouldn't be left to the person in the family that has recently eaten using the chichi Train,or was only Potty Trained recently... Because, when they get older they get too big to be controlled... Then try to exert authority will not go well! Teach them how to behave in a socially acceptable way...they will have less problems and more abilities to deal with all the crap life drops on people never all know that from time to.time Life Is NOT Fair! So, give them the ability to adapt and overcome... That isn't accomplished by asking Teacher to treat your kids like the world revolves around them and the things you think they need above and beyond teaching the curriculum.

A couple weeks ago I got a lettetr of reprimand for (A) not giving a child the same grade as her group, (B) not telling the parents that she was a B****, (C) not answering her "how do I pass without doing anything? question with anything constructive, (D) not handcuffing her to tutoring when she came in, and (E) not upgrading homework on test days. They are terminating my contract now after spending upwards of $10K on PD for me and all the other high school math teachers.

      Then why are you even watching in the first place? As a daughter of a 45 year teacher and having worked as a special ed teacher and associate professor of law, I find these stories, which are TRUE, to be an important viewpoint to be shared from an educator’s perspective. And as an educator, I’m going to be petty and remind you that you don’t capitalize every word in a sentence, just the first one (and proper nouns)🙄🤦🏾‍♀️

      There's no denying that their *EDUCATION* is vital. This video isn't about their education. It's showcasing the ridiculousness of parents. For example, I knew of a mom getting upset that her very young daughter's jacket is missing, but when it came to her child getting services her teacher highly recommended, she wasn't concerned. This mother didn't show concern for her daughter's education, but a lot of concern over a missing jacket or two. Dealing with several little children is NOT easy. Even when they help clean up toys or art materials etc., they do not do a very effective job. There's a lot of energy required during the school day. It's not realistic to belive staff can follow your child's every move and make sure they don't misplace items they bring with them to school.
      The video mentions sleeping, a personal toilet, and cutting teacher pay, among other things. . . how exactly are the requests mentioned touching on a child's education?
