Both of you have met a good teacher in Darul Arqam, last time i saw your video when you recite the shahada, the imam explained to you and your parents with a good reasoning. That you came here without someone forcing you, that you still have to be dutiful to your parents and take care of your sister, that's a nice thing to know to your family, also to learn about Islam with fellow Chinese convert so that you can relate more to each other. Islam forbid compulsion, by the sword, terrorism, bribery etc. were all defeated and crushed. Islam encourages peaceful and meaningful engagements (clever thoughts, truths and reasons) without compulsion and with rightful respect on their standing rights and belief.

I am a born muslim, I like to actively obey the rules and religion as possible. I feel so scared and happy at the same times when I listen to these revert stories. I always wonder if were not born into this religion would I ever have the guts to revert to islam. This is why I respect all reverts so much. I believe they are readily better muslim than I can ever be. I was listening to a lecture from, Yasir Quadhi, where I believe he was saying, we should not judge people who revert to islam to gain something, because we don't know how Allah has planned the journey to islam for him/her. He was telling story that he met many people who reverted to Islam just to marry someone and had no intention of practicing, but in the end it seemed like the reverted person becomes more pious than the born muslim. I also would like to make dua towards Dr. Zakir Nayik, Ma sha Allah his analytical approach to preaching islam has softened so many peoples heart.

As a born malay Muslim, i am privildge to be blessed with Islam from day 1. But to see 2 chinese brothers reverting to muslim is such a good sight esp with the misconception that Islam is only for "malay". However from both your stories, i learned that it is through a muslim lady which led your journey to Islam.
