@@Benjamillion I meant outside of spinoffs like Mad Dash Racing. His last true playable appearance was in Lara Croft’s Poker Party on mobile phones in 2006. Therefore he hasn’t had a true game since 1999.
Dana Gould, that was one of the funniest sets I've seen in a while! Funnier possibly if you have been married and/or divorced :) also, you were the first stand up I saw back in probably 1994 at the Acme Comedy club in Minneapolis, which was a really cool fun experience, thanks!
Lot of comedy geniuses here on UA-cam. Can't say I'm surprised, everyone who comments here always seem to be experts. Thanks UA-cam for gracing me with the brilliance of your kind users.
Dana Gould was always a genius. He had some great specials in the 90's I remember watching on Comedy Central. He should work with Louis CK and other top tier talent

@2:37, the male fear in a divorce is to die alone! No the biggest fear of men in a divorce is having to watch he ex-wife poison his kids into hating him!
The jokes were good, but I think the delivery was a bit off. I think it would be funnier if he delivered the punchlines straight instead of exaggerating his voice. A dead pan delivery would do better to highlight the absurdities
Alistar Wormwood I disagree. Too many comedians are dead pan, too many shows use dead pan deliveries for the punchlines. It has become way overused and dana has a unique voicing to his comedy, that's what makes him, him. His animations are funny in themselves and make his material even better. Anytime i hear/see this guy i can see why the Simpsons were so good back in the day. He just has that mentality/humor that pokes at my funny bones
Yeah I'm sure successful & well respected comedian Dana Gould needs advice on how to do material he's spent probably a year honing and refining. And he'll definitely want that advice to come from a nobody on a UA-cam comment.
simonjenkin No one said he needed advice, they were just saying they personally would have found a different approach funnier, as I'm sure many people would.
***** One of the whole points of doing anything you're passionate about is to be a little better. People put so much time into these things not only because they enjoy them but because they're always striving to reach the next level.
M.A. Nasir You're certainly entitled to think it was lame, comedy is pretty subjective stuff. I liked it. I thought it was a nice tongue and cheek reference to his set which was about death, divorce, etc. the end of things. Felt appropriate.
I love Dana Gould, but this wasn't his best material, in my opinion anyways. Still very funny. I've seen his stand-up specials, and he definitely had to censor himself for television, even though it's cable. When he doesn't have to worry about censoring himself, he's even funnier than this....what else would you expect from an early Simpsons power hitter!? :)
I clearly do not relate to the comment section under Conan's stand-ups. Every time there is any comic who is actually hilarious, the comment section is misogynistic, conservative, and at times racist and narrow-minded. But whenever the comic is like this, a middle-aged white guy telling Dad jokes that would have been fresh maybe 20+ years ago, the comment section is even friendly and forgiving.
hahaaha " when I get back you can be angry at me cause I didn't realise something you thought" best Line!!! :D
You young'ns. He's actually a well established comedian... the HBO special he did 20+ years ago was legendary.
this guy is brilliant
Dana Gould is AWESOME!!! I'm glad to see him still performing. 😃
Way to turn some really dark situations into hilarious ones! Freaking hilarious!
this guy is a legend for those of you not familiar with him. Look him up!
TheZurul Yeah people in this comment section talking about him as if he wasn't a well established and respected comedian.
He was a Simpsons writer for awhile.
"We got a 2-11 in progress baby~" -Gex
He's a legend
Dana Gould has been hilarious for years!
0:32 “I have no game” tell that to a certain Gecko who hasn’t been in one since 1999...
He was actually in an Xbox game called Mad Dash as an extra character in 2001.
@@Benjamillion I meant outside of spinoffs like Mad Dash Racing. His last true playable appearance was in Lara Croft’s Poker Party on mobile phones in 2006. Therefore he hasn’t had a true game since 1999.
@@Gecko1993HogheadIncOfficial Oof, I never thought I'd see Gex on an ancient mobile game. Then again the Game Boy Color games weren't the best either.

Hey it's Gex from Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko! and Gex 64!
And the first Gex
That last bit killed me. Love Dana's podcast.
SEINFELD'S VAN! SEINFELD'S VAN!
The voice of GEX!!
"Is this, uh, Jerry Seinfeld's van?", "I'm, uh, I'm so stupid."
I remember his Moth in the Ear skit...
THAT was hilarious
The comments here are unexpectedly kind
I think it might be because the comedian seems like a really nice person.
really good material xP
Dana Gould dialed down his freak for a more polished audience. This guy is even more hilarious when he gets loose

It's TAIL time!
Love Dana dudes a beast and he's so underrated
I've loved Dana for years! ♡♡
I haven't seen blasts like these since comedy night at Conan O'Brien's house
The Gex voice.AHAHAHAHHA
No kidding, that's why i know this guy
The crowd wasn't feeling this guy but I liked his odd humor.
Gex got divorced from TV?
Ha yep
Agent Xtra more like...
awesome comic
I've seen him live 3x and he's hysterical.
I did not expect him to be funny, but he was brilliant!!!! Some of the best English comedy u have seen
lol the video description is too funny
This was incredible))
I chuckled on the "drive your mom to Target" line.
love you´r show conan
I didn't know Dana Gould was Patton Oswald.
Actually pretty humerous
Emilio Correa agreed 100%
"Humerus. The humerus is the long bone in the upper arm, located between the elbow joint and the shoulder. At the elbow, it connects primarily to the ulna, as the forearm's radial bone connects to the wrist. At the shoulder, the humerus connects to the body through the scapula."
I really enjoy Dana's podcast, he was pretty good here.
last one was juuuuuust killing
Dana Gould has no game? Then what do you call Gex?
Have always enjoyed Dana but never seen him live. Dare to dream.
Gex! :)
Gecko Chop Baby!! Yeah!!!
hello GEX!
I came here becuase I'm big fan of Gex!! I hope Crystal Dynamics make a triology game for Gex, just like I see for both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.
loved it.
Fragile Frankie Merman just did a cameo on his show Stan Versus Evil, lol
It's Gex!
Hilarious as always.
He wrote for the Simpsons for a looong time
Lots of truth in that comedy
I like the ending joke it's hilarious. I didn't actually laugh but it's one of those jokes you have to experience to get a real good kick out of.
Is the bit he talks about on his podcast?
Good stuff
GEX!
YT his Black Dahlia joke. It's fucking amazing.
Good!
This was freaking funny. I do have a cinical sense of humor
I recognize this guy from a King of Queens episode.
@2:37, the male fear in a divorce is to die alone! No the biggest fear of men in a divorce is having to watch he ex-wife poison his kids into hating him!
Marriage is useless. You can still trust each other and have a party. Also less risk and cheaper.
Gonna make another account to like this guy again
I buried 2 million under the…hahahahahaha
Love this guy--the envelope of human teeth thing is hilarious.
Funny stuff! Gould's podcast is pretty good as well.
\when he feels like updating it.
He was a writer on The Simpsons.
Whoa Did he just deconstruct his deconstruction
Dana rocks.
Guys got game lol

He's a good mix of being animated while doing a lot of dry deadpan stuff. I love this dude.
Wormwood
I think he's just sad, he's a really funny man.
The delivery could be a little better but he's still really funny :) His timing was just a bit off in the beginning.

Best ape in the biz
why the fucking dislikes??
MOOAARR!!!
haha
He has a very Simpsons voice. Googled him, he wrote for them for a few years.
I have always loved Dana's comedy, but that buried the money joke is taken from PJ O'Rourke. I believe it was in the book Modern Manners. Bummer.
Are those laugh tracks or live audience laughs?
Gex :)
Lol
Tom Arnold's brother
gets a solid MEH from me
Started strong but...
my thoughts exactly .. "the end" was pretty lame
M.A. Nasir You're certainly entitled to think it was lame, comedy is pretty subjective stuff. I liked it. I thought it was a nice tongue and cheek reference to his set which was about death, divorce, etc. the end of things. Felt appropriate.
You're not an X factor judge. Get that in your head. Fucking millennials...

StephenAndrew777 we got butt hurt over here ..
hahahahahaahah

Original
when did dana guold lose his edge and become a double for paul tompkins
It makes me cringe when it's an old with material with the quality of an ok guy in his 20s that started a few years ago.
Eh...
😴😴😴😴
It´s rare to see a standup his age being this unfunny..
*****
Well sure, but what does that have to do with this?
Dana seems to hold back a hair on TV, he's still hilarious though. To each his own.
meh
Really? Overused joke much?
this guy is so damn awkward...
funny, but not Conan's best guest..
Stand up is dead
