I'm 21 and still I feel like this song speaks to me saying I shouldn't waste time trying to figure out what I meant to do. I should just do anything that seems right now and maybe I'll have time to think if it was the right decision later. I'll go write some music.
That's the attitude!!! Never say to yourself 🤔 "I'm not sure"🤔 Say 😁"Why not!!?”😁 (I wish I had!.... 63) AND listen to this track at least once every year to remind you! Set an alarm on your calender!!
Yeah man, think on what you can do now, I am 26y and I think I lost a lot of stuff on my life by waiting for people tell me what to do, Its very confusing when you like 18-23, at least for me it was.
I listened to my cassette tape until I fell asleep every night of High School…Mostly to the wall or dark SIDe. “The Sun is the same in a relative way, but I’m older. “ Now I fall sleep to Echoes. Good luck with your choices in life, most of us miss the starting gun don’t worry you have plenty of ticks left! U have just start! The rest will come to you but don’t settle until it’s something u enjoy. Inaction is evil in the long run. Try n fail=lessons learned, just don’t “wait around on a piece of ground in your hometown.” Their advice is timeless
Pink Floyd is a separate genre in & of themselves. They stand alone. Always deep thought provoking. ``No one told you when to run you missed the starting gun``...still haunts decades later.`` I love some of the comments in others posts of people in their 80`s mentioning how much this has impacted them.
The tolling of the iron bell is a different alarm clock going off, it's a calling to prayer instead of the 9-5. The happiest part of the song is, "it's good to warm my bones by the fire." Time doesn't exist when you're happy.
I kept coursework as light as possible in High School to make time for my rock band and I was good at Art. This album helped me realize that college needed to happen for me. I blindly picked one and got in, putting my band behind me.
love the info bites my buddy and i spent every summer night of the covid year at our outdoor roller hockey rink jamming out dark side on his floor speakers he would bring out be out there till 1-2 am well after the lights shut off coming up with different lessons to be had from just listening to this album. Hands down best album of all time!! Love the audio quality to just got me some sennheiser headphones im blasting this right now with them.
When I was a teen, on holidays I woke up at 8am, breakfast, lawnmowing, and went to play football until evening... The days were so long. Now, in my 30s (not really old ofc) I just do my chores and it's evening in a few hours... What a pity, we can't appreciate being young until the starting gun. But, we miss that gun...
I don't know if you have to be busier in your youth, I think your sense of time is different. As you get older and less people are trying to teach or guide you, time starts going by faster, the sun racing up behind again, day after day.

What you did of putting the meaning of the lyrics is fucking awesome.
i was in high school of 78..trippin' on Pink Floyd..great band..
In my not so humble opinion, Dark Side of the Moon is THEE best album ever!
Personal preference is to Wish You Were Here, but it’s damn close. This album is a masterpiece.
Almost 50 years on, it becomes more relevant, more focussing, evey year.
Wish You Were Here is more "mid life".
This is "Whole life"
Fr tho. Everyone's always "oh, the wall! The wall!" And I'm just like "but, guys, Darkside..."
It's dark side at 65 had a breif laps in the middle years as life got in the way but always co.e back to the dark side ..
If you are listening to this track right now, you are a Legend 🎖️

No question. This is the BEST album of all time. And, my favorite song is, "Time". But, they all are awesome. 🖤🤎
I'll allways return to this masterpiece... Nothing's better.
Excellent! Background vocal and noises are wonderful on this album. And claire Tory never upsets.
Thank you so much for this amazing song in high quality, and with background info to boot!
An immortal, timeless album that speaks deeply to the human condition. Beauty beyond words
