All he did was ask people for money in exchange for protecting them against what he would do to them if they didn't pay the money.

I heard he didn't like those who had "Transgressed the unwritten law."

You need fto do more on the Richardsons, south london crime families are big business, not much gets said about them, its always the krays but yet most say the Richardsons were more powerful

What he meant to say was..."he never got caught robbing banks and security vans, shooting people with shotguns, or blowing them up with bombs" he only got done with his gang for nailing people to the floor, electocuting them, and pulling their teeth and finger nails out with pliers. I dont know what the problem is, seems like a right nice fella, they should have awarded him an OBE, not put him in prison. The justice system is a discrace.

Employing people . Lending money . Those things are very difficult.
Sure. If a nice man. Sees someone suffering . They might think that loaning some money might help . Or giving them a job . But often the folks you are dealing with are Total Scum mate . (1980 ! What am I saying !)
But some how. In being strong . Kind , and helpful . That's what makes you . The Bad Guy .
Employment law is complex. Also. So is Banking. You can be faced with a Beggar and they're begging illegally. You may feel so sorry for that person !
But. Later. They're going to laugh at you ! Because you need to employ a Bailiff to recover the money . They never returned .
They won't respect the business agreement !
I have a big problem with that. But to get around it. Maybe. Very slowly. Here's how to do it.
You need decent insurance. An inventory... Ah whatever .
Some people are very difficult to do business with indeed.
I used to work with The Richardsons in Cornwall and they ran a very good lock up for my goods !
    I miss those folks !

Just finished reading his My Manor book. A good read if you're into true crime books.
