    Good job on maintainence, only thing I do different is power wash everything really well with a good degreaser sprayed on first .

    Hi Micheal, think I will stick with my Polaris 6by, seems to be less work. You may want to check UA-camrs about the play or talk to 2-3 mechanics and see what the say. Thanks for sharing.

    Good luck beating the analytics of UA-cam with this new channel.

    Good video! Seems a little weird to see slop like that, but who knows without seeing a side by side comparison (total dad joke there). Lol.

    Great video! I have seen play like that in other manufacturers also. It seems weird to me too, but I haven't heard of any issues with defender front-ends. I would check with a different dealer or machine just to be sure.

      Thanks for the info! I'm not sure if when the DPS module is powered the whole thing tightens up?

      The front tires shouldn’t have any play/movement.I would say wheel bearings or bushings in steering rack.I replaced both in my defender and no play now.the dealer could be trying to avoid replacing the steering rack but they should b used to it because most of them go over time.

    Great video
    Is there any problems you could see with these in a muddy farm field environment for a season? Any weekly maintenance other than washing off?

    • @atvutvcamping6738
      @atvutvcamping6738  3 роки тому

      Its a 4 season track so it should work BUT you will see increase wear on the parts with the mud and dirt 👍

    Great video. Appreciate it.
    Question for you, do you absolutely need to take out the CTV air duct? I have a commander 1000, 2017. So mine is under the steering wheel not the back like yours. In the installation instructions on BRP it says to remove the tracks and the track module. Not the air duct. Wondering if you could shed some light on this for me?

    • @atvutvcamping6738
      @atvutvcamping6738  4 роки тому

      It does say in the instructions for my model to remove the CVT air duct - Also as it draws through the cab the noise is much louder! I was glad to get it out of there! 😄 I wouldn't think its absolutely necessary!

    Also, my front tires had some play. Contacted the dealer as well and they said it is also common.

    Do you torque the lugs to a specific number or just go to tight and stop. Good video. Thanks

      I use a torque wrench on them later and tighten them in sequence! 👍

    hi there, i know this is an out of date comment lol, but what kind of lift is that. I always struggle with jacking the machines because they have so much ground clearance already. Love the winter SxS videos!

    My 2011 Polaris sportsman 850 xp and 2013 can am 1000xt both do that as well. I bothered me as well. But haven’t saw any issues with it .

    As always a very interesting video. Do you think you could install the tracks on site (on the field) or do you need the shop's tools and jack to do the job?. Stay safe and your dogs for me.

    I can't see how that's normal play in a steering rack. Looks like loose wheel bearings to me. Do you feel the sloppiness in the steering while driving on hard surfaces?

    • @atvutvcamping6738
      @atvutvcamping6738  4 роки тому

      It's not the wheel bearing as its only in the 9'oclock / 3'oclock position. Defiantly the steering components. I don't feel it whilst driving!

    Hey..a bit late to the party.. before you take those things off.. wondering how much ride height change you experience with tracks installed over the normal ride height of the stock wheels
    Enclosed trailer has an 83-1/2 inch door height.. dealer says it changes by 4 inches.. 79 inches is stock specs.. increased by 4 it will just fit???

      With the roof and tracks, mine looks to be a solid 84”, maybe even 85” - my suspension is second from stiffest

    Looks like start of Dodge death wobble, had to replace the steering gear box, bet you can see play at that point

      Bring a a Jack in the dealer or ask to have them grab the Jack from the shop and pick a brandy New one up. If the play is the same then fine . If not give the guy at the shop a look if wtf and maybe a and smile . Knowing they are blowing smoke up your ass and tell them to fix it .
      👍

      I've personally never seen slop in the steering before - But I have never serviced a DPS unit before so I'm not sure 🤔
