Everyone in my school, including a few teachers despises Ronnie, and says he is a selfish prick. They ask me why I look up to him. I don't respect him for what he did. I don't respect him for the drugs. I don't respect him for the fact that he went to jail. I respect him for the fact that he hit rock bottom, but he got up, got his shit together, brushed it off, and kept going. He did some shit, but we all make mistakes.

you know me and him are alike tbh some kid didn't like me because the kid who hates me was billing other kids till I made him stop and he said I will pay and he put a false report on me and a few others and I got sent to jail and house arrest for a long time I lost everything and everyone but I'm building up my life and I'm learning from the mistakes I made and I respect him and look up to him people say I'm like him to. that's a compliment in my opinion.

Back in 2015 I used to listen to this song almost daily. I was going through a very rough time mentally and this song reminded me that I can get through it and continue. I looked up to Ronnie like Christians do God and I always told myself "if Ronnie can do it, so can I".

Ronnie is my idol too! His music is so inspiring I’ve learned drums, guitar, and I’m taking vocal lessons all because of this man. Funny thing my friends say I’m basically the high school version of him😂 no words can describe what this amazing human has done for me and I will forever be thankful for what he’s gone through and done to make people struggling smile :)

I think people should stop criticizing him so fucking hard. Yes, he did some stuff, yes, he's not perfect, and also yes, he's into rapping lately. But so what? Don't you understand how hard it was and still is for him? Don't you understand how strong he has to be in order to still move ahead? He's not a fucking heartless dick head, don't you get it? People should support him more.
I think its the stuff he rap's about that has him loosing support, him killing people, constantly singing about his mother leaving him (please don't make this a reason that I hate him, but a reason others loose interest), he refers to women as bitches, he degrades people on minimum wage by saying his life's better, he shows pride that he has women send him nudes, yes it's hard for him, yet your life and your music is completely different. they can respect hes been through a lot and still is why still disliking his music, as I do. *just my opinion*
Him killing people? Well, the fact he had no motherly figure to support him will haunt him all of his life, so I don't see a problem in that. As for the others, well, could be a problem, but I don't think he's degrading all of the people on this planet, he's probably criticizing those who do the same to him, or at least that's how I see it. As for the women part, c'mon, not all the women. I don't think he's referring to his female friends or girlfriend like that, so then again, he might be pointing out some aspects of his life, people that he knows and all. Actually, not. Your music can be about your life or simply commercial. And I'd rather hear him talking about his past then listen to songs that only refer to money, hoes, cars, clubs and so on. And that's also just my opinion c:
Camelia TY I guess, I totally see your point, and obviously not all women, but he goes on saying that women always sends him nudes, and always calls them bitches in his songs. Obviously in songs where he directly addresses his past and women he's been with, that's different, but when he boasts how women send him nudes, and he calls them bitches, that's simply downgrading and horrible. And I can't say hes the only artist that does it, but I don't listen to those artists for that reason, so I wont excuse him just because at one point I looked up to him. Obviously I like it when artists express their past when they write about songs, which is why I don't see him addressing his mother as a bad thing, but he does it on almost every song ( I don't want to seem like I'm criticizing his song for this reason, it's just a minor annoyance, I wouldn't want him to stop doing this). Also, him not having a motherly figure is not an excuse to sing about full out murdering people. A lot of people didn't grow up without one and don't result to such measures. Obviously everyone would respond differently to not having a mother around, but in my eyes that still doesn't make it excusable, it just makes it understandable. People who sing about women being bitches and killing people isn't my cup of tea, which is why I'm not into him anymore.

A normal self respecting girl, that has some sanity in her head would not send a random guy her nudes, doesn't matter if it's for ordinary guy or singer or actor or whatsoever... So in my eyes it's not downgrading, just pointing out truth... :D If you're acting like bitch, you're called one ;)
I love this. There's a lot on the mixtape that upsets me because it's so obvious that people are pushing him way too far. But this... this is him saying that he's almost sort of lucky for him mom doing what she did because it taught him how strong he is - that he could make it.
