Can you clean your headlights with wd40 (amzn.to/3jeBf1m) and make them clear again? Only for a short time! WD40 will soon wear off. Many people, and some youtubers, say "it's a miracle fix for headlights." That is a LIE. The truth about WD40 is that it's a temporary solution for a foggy, dirty headlight. As soon as the formula wears off, the headlights go back to poor condition again. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET.

Yes, WD-40 works to clean yellowed headlights. Yes, they will fog up again within 2 weeks. To prevent them from fogging back up, simply apply wax on your headlights. The same wax you would use to wax your car. That will protect them from fogging back up for at least 6 months to 1 year. Simply applying wax to your headlights every 5 months or so will prevent them from ever fogging back up again..

Ive for certain wet sanded headlights with a 280 paper and moved up through various finer paper until i got to 2500 then I had some pads of 3000 and 5000 with diamond grit in them. . . I like to use a bugsprayer with water and just keep it flowing so i dont clog up my sand paper or pads. Ive even used orbital both electric and air powered as well as the palm sanders a normal homeowner may own. Finished up before with charcoal lighter fluid and a rag . I prefer to buff then with a compound for either fine scratches on automotive paint or a buffing compound for clear plastics. Ive buffed with hair conditioner, used jewelers rouge and water, just seriously tried random handlotions...i prefer the stuff for the clear plastics or the fine auto paint scratches. Incidentally on a side note if theres real chrome and its needing brightened up or has some rust on it ,get ya a greeny pad and some good old gasoline and scrub away....it looks like new and dont gotta bother with all the crazy junk out there on the market. Im thinking to apply some suncreen as well. Lol

WD40 acts as temporarily polish on plastic the shine actually gives the illusion that it's clearer and cleaner. This is an old trick to make old items appear newer and it better condition. It also temporarily hides small scratches. Also on the topic of the headlight kit I was out of buffing compound so I used hair conditioner so far a week in the headlights are still as bright as when I finished.

I just restored the headlights on my sister's 2006 Buick with Maguiar's heavy duty kit. It worked really well. But you can use aluminum oxide sand paper in grits from 800 to 3000, wet sand progressively and then buff with a polishing wheel and then seal with a silicon spray. It'll cost about $10-$15, and amounts to the same thing. But you are going to need some elbow grease regardless. It took me about 40 minutes to do properly and was well worth it. I expect it will last for a good while.

Orange (citrus)-based cleaners are a virtually unknown miracle. Wipe it on fogged plastic - looks great for over a year. Duck (or any) tape residue - takes it right off! Almost any type of sticky residue that's hard to get off - takes it right off! This type of cleaner makes nearly ALL store cleaners (Fantastic, 409, etc.) look and act like you're using water! Problem is, they're hard to find!

@@nadamsga : It's a lie if someone claims it's a "fix" forever. If it is not said that this is a permanent repair, then it is not a lie. It is to some extent a fix (problem solving), but with the addition that only for a certain time. That's all. There is no lie in the WD40 effect itself. Only someone can be deceived in the duration of its effect. It solves the problem for 1 week. Just a little WD40 and 1 minute of application. That is enough for many people and they do not have to buy expensive new light.

Or ...if the company had stop producing it may b its time to change the car ... 😂
Why hang on to things thats gonna make u cough out more dough n time replacing n maintaining it when its already time to say goodbye n move on.
Cars are wear n tear item. 10-15 years is the suitable time to hang on to a car.
Then its time to sell it off n get a new n latest one.

Put it this way, is the drivers life and pax, and others on the road not worthy of a crummy little $15 headlamp Repair Kit? In Florida the Law mandates "head lights ON" when driving in rain yet so many vehicles' headlamps are oxidized to the point of being almost useless. That qualifies the car owner for a hefty ticket! $$$
Same goes for vehicles with extreme lamps that blind oncoming traffic, and vehicles with only one functioning headlamp.
    It's not $15 Charlie! It's Lives!

Spraying plastic engine parts with wd -40 will only last about a few days. The heat from the engine takes care of that plus dust and dirt doesn't help either.

Wd40 is perfect for the yearly MOT or when selling.

No it isn't being sold as a headlight fix for ad revenue. No where on the can is it advertised as this use for a fix. If it lasts 2 weeks I am good. My new headlight arrives by then.

Honestly, if all it takes is five minutes of adding WD-40 to my headlights to clear them up for two weeks, I’m down. So every two weeks I just take five minutes of my time wipe it down and I get another two weeks. Not a problem with me! Hell I spend more time than that putting gas in my car! 🤷🏻‍♂️
