1. Know WHY you're retiring 2. Know your monthly expenses 3. Research health care options 4. Get organized on future income sources and assets 5. Track your net worth
I have been reading and researching retirement books, blogs, podcasts, UA-cam and my own retirement resource center. Your UA-cam channel and resources have been the best I have come across. I am trying out all of your free resources and easily understanding the concise information. Some of the retirement resources out there are like swimming through mud to understand. They have tons of difficult pages to read and download. Also, having a purpose in retirement is very important to my husband and myself. Thank you for addressing that important first step of retirement.
You could do a lot when retired , especially something that soothes, well if really your retirement plan is worth the amount of how comfortable you wish to live. I plan embarking on numerous vacations, that is one of the things you do when retired and not now. Another thing being financially stable, I earn $90,000 dollars a year are all part of my plans
In retirement, I'm going to get back into woodworking. Was a hobby years ago. Already setting up my shop. If anyone is ever looking for me, I'll be the old guy in his woodshop.
Great! That partial retirement could be the best of both worlds. More time to pursue your passions while also easing into what retirement might feel like.
People that say they would be lost or bored in retirement are those who never worked a hard day in their lives. I have been a ‘Blue Collar Worker” all my careers. Just crossing the threshold, I will be fully retired at 59.5 yrs. then collect my Social Security at age 62. Make your money work for you, not you work for the money. I will poll the retiree’s on my block as they sit around when I am driving to work how they feel about retirement, I already know the answer.
Do you have any recommendations on how to allocate funds in a 457 plan 5 years before retirement. Should I still be aggressive or should I be moderate or start putting more into bonds?

Wow! That really means a lot. Thank you very much!
I'm glad you're getting value from it.
What will I be able to do in retirement that I can't do now? Not work and put up with all the nonsense at work. That is enough.
lol. That sounds good. Adding something exciting in there could be good too 😊
Thanks for the comment.
I feel the same. I can’t wait until the D day which is 3 years away.

I love that, Bill. Enjoy setting up the shop.
I'll point people to the wood shop if they ask for you 🙂

Great info but music really made it hard to hear you
Thanks for saying something, Hilary. I'll lighten up on the music in the next video.

Hi Dave: Nice video. Looks like the How to Find Your Purpose in Retirement download button isn't working for me...just opens png of cover. Thanks.
Thanks for letting me know, Susan. Try this link.

If I knew then, what I know now. Things would be financially different...
So true.
I may work for income after I retire but I will no longer be a wage slave. That is enough.
I just want 6 hours of sleep
A little vague. Not specific enough .
