It's funny how we used to fast-forward through these when they originally aired and now nostalgia beckons us to look them up on UA-cam almost 30 years later.
Wow. l don't remember much from the 80's, as l was too busy raising my children. I thought I would remember these commercials. Having kids not only ruins your body but turns your brains to oatmeal.
Sandy Lynne Castrini were you living in Indiana at the time? This channel broadcast company was unique to the area and I don't think these commercials got a lot of airtime on other broadcasts cause I don't remember most of these either. Maybe I'm wrong
I understand...I had twins and didn't sleep for 2 yrs. My brain turned to mush....one time at the grocery store I started singing nursery rhymes to the cashier....I clearly needed more adult conversation LOL
@@kjk7611 HaHa! I love your answer! And yes, l was too busy raising 3 rambunctious boys. You’re constantly adjusting to new realities while on 4 hours sleep. I do, however, remember my A,B, C’s and can count to 10. 🙃
Great collection of ads! I really liked the contrast between the ads and the news breaks. Especially the one on unemployment followed by "It's easy to get lost in the fire, isn't it?". The spot with Jodie was neat too.
These "commercials" aren't all they're cracked-up to be. They're arranged in a post-produced way. Lack of local commercials...I.e. used cars, local news breaks, network bumpers (there'd be alot, lot more), local station bumpers, radio station bumpers (alot more), TV show promos (many, many more), political ads, etc. These are 2010's, edited together, "old commercial."
How completely strange. You put on a commercial you've not been exposed to in literally 32 years. The last time you viewed/heard it, you had crimped, permed hair in a banana clip ("mane"), metal braces on Buck teeth, was going through puberty...but upon hearing & seeing these commercials it's like you've been listening to them yesterday. You know every last word, the earworm you had 32 or even 40 years ago reignites. The oreo song, ugh, it immediately jolted me. I'm in December 87 again, Jr. High. One thing I'm eternally grateful for? I hit young adult hood in early 90s, after the whole, ridiculous douching craze. "Mom, I don't feel fresh..." please, spare me.
I WAS 16 IN 1987 WHEN ENTERTAINMENT WAS EVERYTHING RIGHT DOWN TO COMMERCIALS NOW THIS GENERATION HAS A NO TALENT KARTRASHIANS FAKE REALITY TV AUTO TUNE MUSIC HORRIBLE MOVIE AND ITS A JUSTIN BIEBER OR SELENA GOMEZ CARDI B THAT IS CONSIDERED A SINGING SENSATION PATHETIC 😂😂 THANK YOU LORD FOR LETTING ME BE BORN WHEN I HAD REAL TALENTED ENTERTAINMENT IN MY GENERATION ALL THAT WANNA GO BACK RAISE YOUR HAND🖐😂
my real one is Retrotv Classic, I changed it because I like finding out when classic 80's moments of the years, days, and months happened, it takes a lot of work to do it, but I'm not always that good at it, if it has an airdate, I usually leave it as it is, if it doesn't, that's when I do the hard work as best as I can.
Yep, Jr. High. I remember wearing Forenza rolled neck sweaters, tight Jean's, scrunch socks, and having an ice cream party in December cause 7th grade sold the most magazine subscriptions. 13, soon to be 14 in 88.
1:35 Morris the Cat was voiced by the great John Erwin. 23:05 the voice-over for Cover Girl is by Len Gochman, one of the all-time best VO artists. 18:40 this is Michael Bell on the Fisher-Price voice-over, another all-time great VO talent. 34:46 the great Alan Bleviss on the voice-over for Mountain Spring Dawn. 13:30 the iconic voice of Burgess Meredith for Florida orange juice.
17:20 When Radio And DJs Played Real Music By Real Singers Rock Bands And Musicians Now They Just Play Same Crap Over And Over And No Talent Artist And Its Auto Tune Crap😒😡😝

The same can be said about life
You’re right. We need it.
The Pillsbury Microwave ads are ahead of their time. Very early 90’s vibe to the jingle. I love those two.
I forgot how much I liked those Pillsbury ads! Very catchy!
Remember the next yr? Pillsbury microwave brownies? "1 minute in the microwave? Right Jimmy?" "Right Bobby!" 👍
I love Willie & Lester! 0:52
Thanks for sharing this. Year I was born!
COOL😁
I wish I was 10 again.
Amen to that I really miss those days everything was more real like true , now it seems like I'm stuck in a nightmare this reality is horrible 😭

My mom (b. 1949) says this all the time. I'll be like, "Mom, remember?" And she'll be like, "I was too busy raising children".
You were THAT BUSY⁉️

31:45 - Peter Scolari in the Ivory Soap commercial.
🤗
So cool to see some local Indy commercials!
A future DJ in the making in the second fisher price commercial!

Yea, I was surprised to find that Jodie Foster clip in there. A lot of neat stuff pops up in these old tapes.

Commercial time stamps now in description.
The AM/FM radio. I had one I wish I would have thought about being a DJ with that
I love how this is a Indy news commercial segment
Love commercials of every decade !

The MASSENGILL commercial gets me.
1:35 The great 9 Lives Debate, where President "Garfield" (that'd be Morris) is quoted as mewing "Read my pussy lips!" (Lol)
These are from 12/4/87, but after The American Treasury segment, I have no idea when those aired.

13:30 the iconic voice of Burgess Meredith for Florida orange juice.
Thanks for all the info!
My pleasure, and thank you for posting such wonderful content.
A young Janine Turner is in the shampoo commercial towards the end. She went on to star in Northern Exposure & Cliffhanger with Stallone.
44:14 before tellapromters where invented 😆
21:00 Who's singing the Fruit Wheats jingle?
I've never known her name, but the actress at 37:30 is to me one of the great commercial actresses.
18:41 I should had asked for this for Christmas
29:37 Announcing! For Le Jardin du Max Factor, the woman who really allowed 007 to live and let die,(wink noise!) it's...JANE SEE-MORE-BOOBS!!!
Wow and all these years I thought Big Lots was just here in the South...
Anyone know who did the voice over for the OJ commercial at 13:30? I feel like he was in tons of ads in the 80s and 90s.
+Reluctant Dragon I'm not sure but I do remember that voice from all over the place. It would be nice to know.
+Reluctant Dragon Sounds like Burgess Meredith. He was Rocky's trainer, and The Penguin (Batman TV series.)
+Kyleigh Midnight Blue He did indeed to voiceover work in his later years. Wikipedia confirms it.
+Barney Fife Looks like he did do Florida Orange Juice commercials. www.imdb.com/name/nm0580565/otherworks
Hey barney fife ! You seen Otis or Ernest t lately ?! Sorry I couldn't resist love that show
6:35 🤣🤣🤣 👉 {{ ( ) }}
53:32 Joe Biden.
2:42 - also by the time he’s 19, the World trade center will crumble
CBS did news breaks as long as 2008.
Really Wow😁
september 2009 at 3:56 ET after the final episode of Guiding Light. Katie Couric anchored the final installment.

+Wispier Tetrahedrons I should've been more clear thanks. It's just fun to say "baby Joe Biden"
I remembered him being in there but forgot where it was so I just scanned through it and saw it right away. :)
I Remember mst3kanita hurt my feelings.
