  • Elvis recorded this song on : January 13 ,1957. Between 16:00 - 19:00 O'clock.
At the Radio Recorders, West Hollywood, California.
Elvis had already once recorded it, at the sun records in 1953, but wanted to make it again.
So this is obviously the 1957 version.
It's written by: William J. Raskin, George Brown (Billy Hill) and Fred Fisher.
    It's aviable on :
Elvis' Golden Records, Artist Of The Century - Elvis Presley, The King Of Rock N' Roll - The Complete 50's Masters and on ELVIS Original Recordings- which is where this version is from.
    (Lyrics)
    If you find your sweetheart
in the arms of a friend
    That's when your heartaches begin
    When dreams of a lifetime
    must come to an end
    That's when your heartaches begin
    Love is a thing
    you never can share
    If you bring a friend
    into your love affair
That's the end of your sweetheart,
that's the end of your friend
    That's when your heartaches begin
    Disclaimer: NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!
I just make some little movies, with some clips, and pictures and tunes, because i love elvis and think its fun! :)

His recitations on this and on "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" are similar, and both hint strongly at his acting ability. Elvis most certainly was the complete package. Felt terrible when I heard of his death back in '77. Miss him 'til this very moment. He had such an impressive impact on so many lives.

@EZ Z What actually happened Is Elvis's "full-spectrum singing" allowed for musical freedom. Scotty then discovered or invented the power chord, i,e. blueprint for rock, heavy metal, and punk guitar.
Elvis pumped out these opera to guttural scream vocals all in one song which signified to his band, who were well seasoned knowledgeable musicians, that they could play whatever they felt.
Don't misunderstand me, the sound of Scotty Moore's guitar was ALL the power in the atmosphere of the music. But Elvis's singing was ALL of the power in conveying the emotion that mesmerized the people. No two uniquely impactful ingredients have ever come together since.

Элвис пресли. Несёт в себе гармонию, массу любви и тепла. Ты живёшь в своих песнях, а твои песни живут в нас.

This song by Elvis featured on the very first album I owned. A a schoolboy it was not my thing. Now I think it's wonderful. I've finally got around to making my version: It's here:
ua-cam.com/video/h7iV8RWc800/v-deo.html It's more understated than The King's version. Relax and enjoy! David. 🙂
