I agree! There's nothing that they are adding to the spirit that changes it, or that would not develop naturally. I don't know specifically about "caramel coloring", but some producers add a naturally occurring chemical called Boise. The Boise comes from the barrels that the brandy and cognac are aged in, it adds more age to the spirit which keeps it at a lower price since it is added instead of having to get the spirit to extract it from the barrel.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I especially appreciate the education on the Boise which comes from the barrels. Very interesting and I knew nothing about that. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 Your post is greatly appreciated 💯💯

Ive found over the years with Cognac that the Smaller Cognac Houses have Better Product than Offerings from the Big 4 that have huge marketing budgets. An older gentleman that worked at a Beverage Distributor told me this Simple Fact about Booze... If you need to Advertise to Sell Your Product It's Probably Not that Good.... Good-Great Booze Sells on Word Of MOUTH ALONE

Absolutely. There are plenty of cognac houses that produce an amazing product outside of the big ones. What are some of your favorites? I think my top is Hines and Pierre Ferrand is next on my list of favs. Thanks for your reply and watching 💯💯

I want to get the Pierre Ferrand SDA for my grandpa on his upcoming birthday. Would you say the Remy Martin XO is more bitter than the SDA? Thanks

Thanks for watching and commenting. In short yes. But I wouldn’t necessarily call Remy XO bitter at all. Nor is it sweet. It’s a very refined version of Remy. If you like Remy vs or VSOP you will love Remy XO. SDA on the other hand has a sweet flavor profile that Is fantastic. You can’t go wrong 💪🏾💪🏾

Remy Martin ads color that's the reason why the SDA Pierre does not add colors it's 30 to 55 years old and look at the Remy Martin color which is only about 12 years old Remy adds color and it can't come close to the taste of the Pierre
