Imagine that this piece which includes the insane passage at 26:15 ends like that at 31:08. Kind of genius. It's so funny to feel the tension as the audience is in disbelief that this is how the final movement ends.

His first concerto is more concise and packed while this one is more "sparse". However, I find the orchestration of this piece to be exceptionally brilliant, and one of the hallmarks of Shostakovich's late style.
