I found this video to be riveting It was obviously made before the DSM five came out . I think there is truth in both sides. I work in addiction, recovery and I myself live in long-term recovery. I’m very thankful to have reached out for help and gotten licensed clinical help rather than sty, religious viewpoints and suggestions
Life long recovery sounds like the process of sanctification but without God. Self strength instead of Holy Spirit strength. I could be wrong I guess that would come down to the individual and their beliefs. I agree the practices and workbooks of some psychology and addiction recovery works but to be true to the process of sanctification and faith it must be a reminder of reliance on God using biblical truths while in the process of it. That's how I feel at least.
I am a Licensed Social Worker who does not agree with the secular world. I see a lot of homelessness, alcohol/drug addiction and mental illness. It seems like these people had no religious upbringing, whatsoever. They may have been born to parents who abused alcohol or drugs during pregnancy; or grew up in an abusive family environment, and so on. The point is, If Jesus had been the center of their life, they might have grown up to be well-adjusted and self-sufficient adults today. It is just my personal opinion that schizophrenia is some form of demon possession. Every schizophrenic client that I have known always says strange things about Jesus/God and the devil. The voices they hear are obviously coming from demons who are encouraging them to kill themselves or somebody else.
@@larrywallace8575 I'm fine. Hope you are doing well also. Please pray for my two youngest adult children to return to Jesus. I thought they were saved as kids, They loved the church and read their bibles, but they started living a very sinful lifestyle as young adults and even got into some New Age garbage.
@@MsOliveLeaf I definitely will do, I'm sorry tjat has to be devastating. I know it must be difficult. Is your husband a believer? Dont get discouraged hang in there and never stop praying for them. The prayers of a righteous person availeth much. That new age stuff is just satanic packaged too look like something harmless but Its from the pits of hell.
It is quite amazing, that you use the time frame of "2000 years." Could you please tell me what Church was ministering and guiding the Faithful in 500 AD, 800 AD, and 1100 AD? I just want to hear you say it.
The facts are, most Christians assume they understand or completely reject the Gifts of the Holy and many times operate in none of them. And they certain do not operation in a clearly Supernatural ability of the Gift of Love, which Apostle Paul clearly identifies.
What about the saying, “Your depression or anxiety is caused by a chemical imbalance?” Is that not an illness? Seriously seeking answers, not disagreeing with the video at all.
Mental illness is a metaphor. It isn’t physically detected in the brain. When the brain is physically damaged one is recommended to a brain surgeon, not a mental health therapist.
There's Spiritual/Demonic influences behind the imbalances, demons can influence and attack the body, the mind, etc to bring about illness, disease, Deliverance is what God gave us to set us free, restore and heal us.

I'm a Pastor and minister and that is the best thing I have ever heard anyone in mental health say
@@larrywallace8575 Thank you!

Great video 100%agree
The church has truly been hoodwinked!

I delight in the fact all that wander from the Way will remain in the congregation of the dead.
It is sad that you would rejoice in the destruction of others. As Christians , we are called to pray for those who are lost.

That could be called a brain illness in my opinion because its in the brain

Chemical imbalance is a fraud to justify medicate people and make huge money out of it.
