Thanjavur was Capital city to entire Southeast Asia during Chola's period.
(countries include Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, philipines, Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam, sri lanka, laos, combodia, maldives)
Also Chola Empire is Longest ruled Empire in world history 300bce to 1557ad over 1600 years.

If you need to enjoy summer days come to Madurai Chithirai Festival for Free Food, Water, Butter mils, Rosemilk, Rasna, Juices, Tamarind Shake, and much more celebrations in and out of madurai city. you can see the whole city crazy with absolutely zero crime in name of Queen Meenakshi. Thanjavur was the capital of the mighty Chola empire. The most shocking thing is the Gopuram(minaret) weighs 80ton and it was placed on the Top by building a ramp which was pulled by hundreds of elephants stretching to few kilometres😮.
There are hundreds of temple marvels in India.
Trichy, Mahabalipuram, Madurai are some of the places you have to visit for stunning temple architecture.
In fact India has 42 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

No church or mosque in the world is built by 108 CE. ( they started building then from 4th and 7th century) .
There are many ancient Hindu temple temples in south India , older than 108 CE but they need to establish.

Visit Indonesia, combodia and if you spot similar sculptures or statue over there they will never agree its similar to indian tamils work or anything in india, our culture history was right there in the hands of those countries but they don't want it to be seen 😅

Modern thanjavur is just another run down tier 2 city . Ancient Thanjavur was a different story altogether. The Big Temple is one of the few standing structures that stand testimony to this. Unfortunately that glorious culture is no longer there otherwise Thanjavur wouldn’t be so run down . Ppl have given up on ancient ethos and practises that promotes neatnesses and aesthetics. The result is the run down cities that u c in India that all seem so distopian and run down with plenty of pollution.
