This was one of the best limited edition bikes I have ever seen launch and giving the rider gets the impossible to buy team cranks and team shifters. Also the team sponsor of red bull to the sport of cycling is kind of historic especially if your a nerd like me. Anyways I hope you enjoy
Fuck no. The idea that at those prices you're stuck with whatever size cranks and cockpit the stooges at Specialized decided to slap on in is preposterous. All high end full builds have the same problem. It's beyond absurd.
Absolutely agree. It should be standard to customize bike touch points especially at this price point, even something simple like offset and zero-offset seatpost can make huge diference to bike. That is why I always buy frame alone and build it myself.
But you can actually do a fitting in your local bike store where you buy this bike. I have a Sworks SL8 52. The bike shop change my handle bar for free.
@@yo5666_ Some shops will, some won’t. Also, very often you have to wait for weeks or months for a different size cranks or cockpit. The bottom line is this should not be a back end fix. For that kind of money you should be able to order the bike that fits you from the manufacturer, not then have to spend time, effort and even more money to replace components. It’s absurd and untenable. It frankly lacks common sense.
Not that this makes it any more desirable at that price - but in the UK I believe you also get a Hammerhead Karoo 3 with it? I could be mistaken. Kind of love the paint job, had too many BoB bikes.
I get why somebody might like this, but I would want this team to win something in order for me to collect their stuff! Jokes aside this paintjob just isn't doing it for me, it's cool with the hidden/not-hidden logos, but I prefer the SDworx and Soudal-Quickstep colorways.
yea I agree, if the team performed and was outt there winning right now, for sure it would have more hype around it but the bikes are selling, we sold 4 of them already
I saw in another video and photo tarmac sl8 front fork and wheel center offset few mm to right (non disk side). Do you think this will real issue or not?
Exactly. I don’t see the McLaren Venge selling for 40k. I can remember when that was released it was LTD edition and sold for double the price of a standard Sworks, they did sell out!
lmao I dont know, who knows if redbull has that kind of pull but i cant see even if the bike is sitting there for so l;ong brand new it is not going to go up in value
Do people who care enough about bikes to spend $16k have a high opinion of specialized? I'd think they'd want something with more prestige and less stigma.
man I am a tarmac sl8 believer all day, I have the pro model and I love it, it is so comfortable and lightweight and fast. the bike doers everything so well
I cant think of another bike that has been released recently that actually justifies its price. That is worth every cent. A bike like this despite having a fixed crank length etc. you arent buying for marginal gains. This is a bike purchased purely for the enjoyment, appreciation of the art and nothing else. NOBODY is buying this to race it so those complaining about fixed parts regarding lengths at this price, you've completely missed the reason for this release and if you had the money to buy it, you simpley dont deserve it.
@@lee1210mk2 Investing is subjective. Thats the thing with "investing" you just never really know for certain if you will get a return and what makes this different is that Red Bull VERY rarely comes to the consumer market with product and that alone makes it a subjectively good purchase and if Bora gets a stage win at this years tour, ever better.
That external screw on BB does not belong on such a modern bike IMO. The Trek internal screw in style (whatever it's called) seems like the best of all worlds.

Man i love redbull logo. I don't drink their product, but that bull looks badass
the bike and looks of this bike are topt ier
Saw this bike in person during a ride in NJ. Best looking bike I've ever seen.
That bike is dope af… that price is insane af too…
hell yea but i mean its the price of an sworks anyone looking at an sworks bikes should have an idea of what the price is

Probably the best bike you've ever shown GC. Great job getting us a good look at it.
bike is pure sexxxxxxx I wish I could buy just the frame
That is too rad. Love to see it in person. Thanks for taking the trip to shoot this video. Happy 4th brother. 🇺🇸
Thank you so much!! yea I had a blast!!
With that price I dont need the SLT, I need SRT (Self Riding Technology)
😂😂😂😂 right!!!!
Awesome deal. If i had 16.5k laying around, i'd travel and ride all of europe, sucka!
lmfao
You forgot to mention that it comes with the new Hammerhead Karoo 2 😉
karoo 3 but yes you are right
These will sell out instantly
they are selling fast we sold 4 already
Plastic S Works Road Bike! Phenomenal!
lmao
Pro themed bikes and kit for pros. Would rather have a plain pearl white bike 😅
I love this
For that price they should of put on the team edition cockpit with the white Roval logo
yea that would have been nice the white logo
Not that this makes it any more desirable at that price - but in the UK I believe you also get a Hammerhead Karoo 3 with it? I could be mistaken. Kind of love the paint job, had too many BoB bikes.
so special spec is just the paint. Wow :D
yea the paint is gorgeous
@@GCPerformance18 your opinion, on my point of view its horrible :D
So how do they make weight with this bike? Add weights in the seat tube ? Literally?
It will add weight with bottle cages pedals and garmin mount
Yeah they do. At least the cube team (intermarche wanty blablaba) do so
@@GCPerformance18 when is the Limited Edition GC Performance Tarmac coming out?

This isn’t team spec though? They have the blacked out crankset not one with aluminum details.
Killer super bike super cool 😎 🚴♂️ great video as always. Top tier 🚴♂️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful this is an f1 bike. Love it
any alternatives to ceramic speed SLT? I don't like the brand and the price of $149 for a bearing...
you can try local bearing makers who make hybrid ceramic hybrids
It’s very cool but no story to tell. They better start winning races. Sagan’s bikes were nice too but he was winning on them. They had a soul.
yea I really thought the team would be a little more competitive this year, I know tadej is here but you can still compete and be up there with him
@@GCPerformance18 great videos as always. Keep up the good work!
I saw in another video and photo tarmac sl8 front fork and wheel center offset few mm to right (non disk side). Do you think this will real issue or not?
no issue, they come like this to offset the disc brake caliper on the very skinny fork
@@GCPerformance18 Thank you for information. That's make sense!
Looks insane...😍

16,500...what a bargin
I'll have two
24 k in Australia
SLT …..I will get this for my girlfriends. I had to make this comment 🙈 my inner 15 year old told me…
lmfaooooo
Fantastic !!
Awesome video and Team Edition bike but the price is incredible.💯👌🏻✌🏻🚴♂️
It really is!
are these like those special edition sports cars where they actually hold their value or even go up in price over time?
NO and NO

lmao I dont know, who knows if redbull has that kind of pull but i cant see even if the bike is sitting there for so l;ong brand new it is not going to go up in value
i am buying it! here is my kidney
If only... I will just keep upgrading my non sworks SL7 one piece at a time. Bottom bracket is next, any recommendations?
Dont buy any of this ceramic garbage

Oh my what a beautiful beautiful bike!
😍
21mm internals on the new wheels? New for what yr, 2018? Come on!
21 mm inner width is standard for modern wheels??
I mean it is still pretty big but yea I Would like to se a little bigger but we will see
@@RylHango nah 25s is the new standard.

I think thats just the sun to be honest

Thank goodness it doesn't come with batteries. Prolly take it to 20K
hahahah bateries are stored in the store
The SLT headset bearings are steel, not ceramic.
all these pros are riding 165s now...really??? No! Al bike fitters are recommending them, but most pros ride 170, 172.5 or 175 - still!
Tadej and Jonas riding 165 and remco
@@GCPerformance18 yes - but they both are rather small, ~175 cm, so that is not a surprise

$16,500. WTAF
If I bought that it wouldn’t be going on the wall haha

damn super nice
Putting Red Bull paintwork on a road bike is like putting Velveeta logos on an electric shopping cart.
lmfao
Nope it's not the coolest it's simple
Now the new Trek is way better and the Colnago c68way better
