It's for the stemless we got right after and during the pandemic. There is no catch and is for people who did not file. You can be on social security or anything but if you've never filed taxes they don't know you are so you file a tax return from 2021 showing that you didn't claim it and that you're a real person and go through the ID stuff. If you already got your rebate or have you been filing taxes all along then you don't have to worry they knew about you and sent you your money.
the sad part is that the poorest people could really use that stimulus check WAY more then those that are able to pay taxes!! it should be going to people on disability and those that can't work! people that need to afford meds but cant and people that need the help WAY MORE then some one that just wants to slap a new coat of paint on their car (or something else just as dumb)
In case you didn't know you did not have to pay out taxes in order to file for this money. Anybody even someone on social security is allowed to file for that money. But you have to file so the government can see that it's you and nobody else. It doesn't mean you have to pay out taxes they just want to see if you're alive. My daughter didn't even make any money but because she's old enough she files her taxes to show that and they sent her the rebate. And by the way it's not up to you to decide what somebody wants to do with their money. If somebody wants to buy a million-dollar Mansion or paint their car or whatever that doesn't make them evil because we're all blessed and different ways. You sound mighty righteous about something that's none of your business.
