First day of the New Year my wife and I got up at 3 am in Mexico City to catch the 4 am airport shuttle to check bags and get to gate 28 Volaris 7:06 am direct flight to Denver International - four hour flight - but the time change made it 10 am, we passed thru customs got lost looking for baggage went back to customs found our baggage - Daughter and Grand kids picked us up and took us to Calvary Church - we got there a little late - but in time to hear this New Years Day Message - It was another sound and profitable word from the Lord. When I look back on my 31 years of sobriety all I can testify is that when you turn your will and your life over to God's care He will always "be mindful of you" He will always do that thing - that thing that you can not do for yourself ...He will fight your battles, because the Battle does Belong to the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. God provided the shuttle which navigated the traffic - We waited in line - got to the gate on time - God provided the flight on time- God provided a Airport Volunteer who walked us back to the baggage area inside Customs - This man was not on the payroll, he walked us back stayed with us until we got our baggage - even when the Customs officers was yelling at us to leave the restricted area - God gave us wonderful children and grand children - who were determined to start the new year off with a ride to church. I have no excuse now for not getting to church in the new year - I mean really all I have to do is suit up and show up.

Knowing what else is recorded about Saul, I think he wanted David to wear his armor so the Philistines would think he was coming out to fight. Why else would a very tall full grown man offer his personal armor to a young teenage boy?
