This fool didn't told you everything. If you launch a nuke it will hit the traget next turn so, creatimg tension and also giving you time to counter attack or launch your own nuke. Also, after your satellite is launched the whole map is visible to you. I advise you the official vedio directly
Should have talked more about the nuke system itself imo--I think the turn delay is really interesting. Nukes actually matter for the first time in a 4X game, rather than either being just big damage and maybe a big debuff with no real consequences for the aggressor.
Agreed. The prospect of an actual representation of MAD is so simple, yet so genius. In HK, you’ll probably want nukes not for an “advantage,” but simply as a deterrent.
I agree. I like the idea of every player seeing "player x has launched a nuclear weapon!" and being able to respond, especially if they weren't at war but had some tension with a few powers.
I'm actually gonna cover the delayed nukes in a seperate video, that's why I didn't touch on that much here. You're right though - it's SUPER interesting.
The way artillery works is just god....so damn good. As someone who's always a pacifist unless forced to go to war. Being able to build military units and set them up in a way to really help the front lines is such a neat concept. In CIV artillery felt like they were way too close, here they actually behave like artillery. Far away from the action but can still do devastating damage. Only thing that worries me is if you can spam artilleries and just block of the front lines and be insanely strong turtling.
That's exactly France's WW2 doctrine - you're not wrong, Humankind thought of that before. And Humankind easily found a way to counter that - flanking. 🙂
This is what modern warfare is about. How to ensure your areas are protected - and that means space, lots and lots of space. But even space is not enough.
In Civ 6 not only you can transport a unit from an airport to an airport (you need a certain building in both districts for the option to be available), it also counts the adjacent tiles for transportation. Thus you can move a whole army to the other side of the map in just a turn or two.
thats actually code from the first civilization, where Gandhi's aggression level was set to 1, the lowest value. researching nukes lowered every civ's aggression level by 1, resulting in Gandhi being on 99 Aggression. As it became a running joke of the game, they kept it in every iteration of Civilization after the first one even though it was originally a bug.
I'm so damn excited for Humankind! I've had more negative experiences with Civ 6 than most games. I will admitted that i'm not the best at strategy games like this, but I find them fun and when I was playing these kinds of games with friends we would mostly goof off and do whatever the hell we want. Civ 6 multiplayer was just boring and it didn't feel fun at all. I'm hoping Humankind can be multiplayer and be more fun if it does.
8-10 hexes range is probably overkill considering the scale (i mean the usual today is some 30kms for artillery). but I can see how that can make late game more interesting.
It going to happen a lot in the first month of Multiplayer someone launches a nuke to test it the rest sees the nuke assumes that the nuke if for them and everyone launches nukes to the person that launch the first nuke. Oh boy late game multiplayer is going to be fun.
Just like in Reallife. Its on you to decide, if you assume its comming for you, or its a mere test (or is not direct towards you, if it is a multi alliance war) You haveto decide, if you want to retaliate or, if you take the chance, and potentially suffer the consqiuences.

The late game seems really intriguing, I'm excited for your first full playthrough !!
You and me both! 😂

@@LyonPercival I mean flanking is going to be hard later on, since u know where they are and have vision.
Artillery being overpowered is historically accurate :)
@@cumunist2120 Sure but may not be fun to play against lol.
"Nuke isn't worth it"
the player base: press X to doubt

I'd say the orbital laser cannon at the end of the tree will be far more powerful
Tbh the nuke animation is cool in shape, but ugly and low resolution... I prefer the flash of the nukes in Civ V/6.
I agree, even with the art style being what it is. I feel like the explosion portion doesn't look all that great. The fire just looks off.
I kind of agree, a bit artificial or something

CIV 4 allowed you to send units from airports to airports I believe. I remember complaining about it not being in 5
In BNW atleast you could do this.
Civ 6 has it

Yeah civ has messed around with it, and of course has airports and railroad tile improvements but it's never quite been a full experience somehow.
Age 1-5 Actual Pacifist Gandhi
Age 6 Civ Atomic Gandhi
Actually Nuke gandi is much older than you think, believe he was actually coded wrong so he'd be extremely aggressive late game.
Hahahahahaha that's me every game I swear

It's over Anakin, I have the High Ground...
I love watching these break down videos. The hype is real for me.
over 9000
I love how after the battle is over, the city is partially destroyed from the combat in it.
Just 3 days left! :D
Sooooo cloooooose!
I love the content, please keep the updates on Humankind coming! I cannot wait to watch your first play-through. :-)
Will do! :)

I just wanted too GRABBBBBBBBBBBBB this screenshot 🤣🤣 I died. Where did you grab this screenshot? From hell?
I don’t know if it’s just me but I was still kinda hoping for nuclear bombers and nuclear icbm submarines like in civ
I suspect with 129 units (and absolutely more to come) we’ll see those
Maaan that is amazing animation right there. It's kinda looks like cartoonish. But stil amazing nonetheless.
is there a covid in a late game :D ? Is there a global warming effects? great looking game
Yes, well it has a pollution mechanic that causes destruction of the world
Gimme the game lol
right!!
