I believe that the Merovingian was created in the nightmare version of the matrix as a balance of good vs evil and it went wrong. To be complete, the Matrix has to have a more chaotic being to oppose the mathématical équation way of thinking of both the Architect and the Merovingian (the logical cause-effect thing). There's a lot of Dracula symbolism with the Merovingian and his pad in the matrix franchise you even see a female vampire on tv and Cain (the one that ran to The Merovingian after Peresophone threatened to kill him after she killed Abel the werewolf exile) was a vampire exile and was killed after a one of Merovingian's statues swords fell on his chest killing him (like the vampire lore ) And they even have Vlad Tepes statues with fangs in the Merovingian's hallway where the exiles fight Neo Even his look in Resurrections is similar to Vlad Tepes' physical appearance (Long wavy blonde hair and a beard) Vlad Tepes is who inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula and when Neo runs out to the mountain area is a homage to Carpathian mountains in Romania where Vlad Tepes supposedly had a secret castle hidden
Different perspective. Thanks for this video. I always thought Merv as the core OS of The Matrix - the program that monitors information consumption and output across the application. Because he was some of the Architect’s foundational code he needed to migrate with each iteration and was deletion resistant. Cold and smug in knowledge of his essential role. Persophone was the foundational code generated by the Oracle for the understanding of human emotion and desire. They drifted apart because the Machines’ codes can only reconcile logic and emotion through the Anomaly or as a “bug” (Smith takes out his earpiece and removes his glasses before he tells Morpheus that he hates the Matrix). Human life is messy that way. 😊 The reason Merv appears in Ressurections as the drifter is because the Analyst’s “new and improved” Matrix needed very little of the Architect’s old code. Because the Analyst was a student of the human mind (and had the emotional bond of Trinity and Neo powering his system), he didn’t need Persephone’s code at all and she was deleted.
I have a wild theory about the Merv. That he was the anti-agent of the first or possibly second anomaly. He was the Smith to the first or second Matrix's "One". Maybe he won against the One making him extremely powerful and gained all the control and extra power he has. Rewriting his army of exiles as vampires and werewolves because of his taste in human literature. Once the architect reset the Matrix and then becomes the new Merv. Stunted but still powerful. Anyway that's my theory. There could be a whole comic series of the Mervs adventures through the different Matrix versions..😮😮
Yes.. he did not know what he was shown and by whom he was shown this path.. He was deceived to a point of no return.. He still has a choice to come out of it.. He was shown to take instead of giving unconditionally..
That was incredibly in-depth, and as this explanation was someone's interpretation, I'll have to admit that it was very insightful and that I totally missed it! Upon first viewing this scene the first time I viewed the movie I was captivated by the cause and effect idea, something the Jesuit order throughly explored, though I feel the empiricism ideology got side tracked along with the metaphysicists! So, in closing, this approach has opened up a whole new light on this subject! I always enjoy this channel and could philosophize about the Matrix endlessly!!¡¡ THE MATRIX IS REAL😮
Eh. The Merovingian is a representation of Jesus. And of Jesus' supposed bloodline in real History. And no one seems to ever want to admit this, but Neo is a better representation of Lucifer, than anything else that's biblical.
Morpheus was my favorite character in the first movie, but Merv is certainly my favorite in the second. In a way, they were both knocked down from their vaunted positions (in my eyes). Morpheus was a wise mentor who held himself with poise and dignity, but was later revealed to be a religious zealot. Merv, on the other hand, was the picture of power, wealth and decadence, but later lost everything and became a vagrant.
Yes, choices that are made and the consequences of those choices based solely on coincidence is only an illusion! What I've discovered recently is that: whatever path a living person takes (i.e.- the 'choice' that person makes) is completely governed by some entity from an invisible dimension...where the concept of "time space and matter" do not apply. For example, if you are, one night, driving along a dark trail on a dirt bike, and you happen to drive over an exposed branch...no 'coincidence' will determine whether you escape from it unscathed or if you end up breaking your neck on the downfall. Someone or something out there is weighing in a multitude of factors to calculate whatever consequences are in store for you. Faith and religion caste aside, nonetheless, 'coincidence' and 'choice' are illusions. Instead, we should believe that all circumstances are based on...'SYNCHRONICITIES'
one curiosity, if neo needed the keymaker to enter the room to get to the architect, and the keymaker died for creating and giving that key, how did the previous anomalies reach the room?
@@csehszlovakze really not a name but a function of a program ... the one that makes the keys hence keymaker :) the architect is not architect John Snow - just the function
@@iulius_august Is it safe to say that anything referred to as, “The” fits that description of being a specific function of a program? The function itself would still be present in each version of The Matrix, but in each version would appear differently? Maybe that’s why they introduced the element of Digital Self Image (DSI) in Resurrections? I know it’s essentially the core of Matrix Philosophy in general, but always love to dive deeper into it as well… So, “The”: Keymaker, Trainman, Analyst, Architect, Merovingian, Oracle, One In the current version of The Matrix, we see two of them that support this idea, The Merovingian and The Oracle. But only The Oracle has a different appearance (I’ll get to Sati in a moment). Is this because The Merovingian was exiled? An Exile is a rogue program that refuses to be deleted and returned to the source, right? Is the idea of “exile” in The Matrix one of *being* exiled (cast out as punishment), or in the sense of them essentially on the run and constantly hiding from the system? But then how does Sati become The Oracle without not having been exiled? Sati’s function of controlling the sky (or maybe sunrises specifically?) in Revolutions would be performed by a different version of Sati in Resurrections, right? If so, how could The Oracle be the same Sati from the previous version of The Matrix? But surprise…there’s actually THREE versions of those specific functions referred to as, “The” in the current version of The Matrix, right? The Oracle, The Merovingian, and…The One. With Trinity being the Seventh emergence of The Anomaly, and with different versions of non-exiled programs having a different DSI (you see Tiffany’s DSI in the reflection off the table in the coffee shop scene), that leads me to the bigger question… How can there be a version of The One in the current version of The Matrix if Neo refused to return to The Source, thus making The One an exiled program? Or are we to look at this version as whatever Trinity is intended to be an entirely new anomaly created as the result of a completely different mathematical error or other type of mistake? Did The Suits mistakenly fuck up the system by purging things left and right after the Machine War? I mean, we see how there are now “good machines” (Digital Sentients) and “bad machines” (The Analyst) and they’ve obviously reached a level of intelligence that includes them now being fully capable of acting purely on emotion (starting a civil war, showing empathy to and choosing to coexist with humans). Because of this, it wouldn’t surprise me if many of the purges were done so in a rash decision making way without thinking of the consequences. The Machines are becoming more human than they thought they would, with some ultimately becoming the very thing in which they absolutely hated the most at the start of all this. Maybe the Machines are what eventually evolve into “humans”, which then create AI, which then starts the entire cycle over again… That would then mean The Machines themselves are also within a Matrix, right?
To be honest I see Matrix Ressurrections more like a parody than anything else, similar to how The Coming 2 America Movie starring Eddie Murphy was more of a comedy compared to the more serious tone of the first film but now Covid is behind Us I’m pretty sure they will do a proper revamp of the Matrix Film Franchise that has a better cast and storyline.
@@GuardianAngel.. Yeah I didn't really like Resurrections and it did seem a bit like a parody, however my statement still stands. And perhaps we will one day see that proper revamp as The Matrix Universe has more amazing stories to tell perhaps an Animatrix 2?
I agree with everything except what you said about the 4rth film...none of that script is supposed to be taken as canon, that's Lana's own words, not mine.
I would have expected the Merovingian wears the Merovingian-Knot on his tie here 0:26 Because this tie 2:47 or this one 4:22 is knotted Merovingian-style.
I Hope that the Matrix has a Future we Need to Know what Happened to Agent Smith and if Hugh Weaving may Return, Also We Need to Know what happened and Where did the Merovingian go and what he Meant by He will Sequel Spin off When he Left? I Hope We will get an Answer to all This and More.
Then why does the key maker say "I can not go back"? Why is the last iteration of the matrix the one in which the key maker dies? According to this "devil" theory, who is the keymaker in that analogy? What "trinity" does keymaker complete? Since every character in the matrix is part of a duality and a trinity, what is the story on the keymaker? What are the relationships between "keys" and religious philosophy in the matrix saga?
I think you're close but a bit off. The original matrix was supposed to be one of Paradise. It was essentially Eden. The Merovingian is a program from the first matrix that was in charge of making everyone happy. The first matrix failed and they tried the horror matrix and rather than delete and start over they changed the Merovingians role to that of torture. With every iteration after his program was adapted. What was originally a worm type of program that spread pleasure became a serpent and eventually a dragon.
If “Lucifer” (not his angelic name, obviously), was actually so wise, he would have known that disobedience and rebellion, would have been foolish. But this is a whole other discussion. I disagree with your assessment for this reason. I think the Merovingian is intended to represent Hades, the God of the Underworld, not the Christian interpretation of “Hell”. Amd originally was created and placed as such, intentionally. He engaged in transporting “programs” from Their World to their “afterlife” world that he controls. Just as Hades did.
He's a metaphor for Lucifer, The Merovingian French dynasty, The Christ, Hades, Prometheus , The Dogan of the Zulu nation, Dracula, Djinn and many other evil or big evil archetypes
Merovingian was God of the first Paradise Matrix hence not even Deus Ex Machina could "Un-God" it for the "hell" version as basic programming; thus he overtook the powers of Hell within the new matrix as well (those of paradise he had already), hence after the emergence of the architect (the masonic rationalized view of God) and they both remained connected to the source vía sistemic implosion.devices, he could later create the trainmaker, his own God-program "down there", and it becoming the interface/portal "between domains". Most importantly the Merovingian effect is the root cause of the integral anomaly created by the architect and the analyst is likely the "son" of the oracle & Smith.
"Most jews do not like to admit it, but our god is Lucifer - so I wasn't lying - and we are his chosen people. Lucifer is very much alive." - Harold Wallace Rosenthal
the Oacle was the most evil character. She created the "one" with a cookie, which Neo ate the first time he met her, the Merovingian told him the truth about everything an even demonstrated how it was done.
This guy is always so off. Merv was the creator of the older Matrix that was governed by cause and effect. The Oracle came up with a better version so Merve was fired and sent to deletion. That’s why he wanted to kill the Oracle: to get his old job back.
He was the "oracle" of the nightmare program But like a djinn who offers you wishes for your soul Even djinns will "save" monsters from going to hell in Muslim folklore
Did the other “ones” die and comeback to life as well? Did the oracle want neo to go back in the matrix to save trinity? & did she know smith as a virus could have been used as a bargaining chip with the machines ?
We still live in the 1st matrix. Illusion is the parallel that we all exist in along with other parallels...BOOM! NEVER ENDING AND NEVER DYING. LIVING IS A CYCLE AND WE ALL HAVE AN ANGEL LIFE BUT THE ONLY WAY TO CONNECT WITH THAT SELF IS THROUGH DYING. FOR A SPLIT SECOND YOURE AN ANGEL THEN THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENS IS YOU BECOME REBORN UNTIL FOREVER.
Good video, I would like to see some more videos on the parallels between the biblical stories, and the matrix. However, I wish you would not refer to the story of Lucifer as a fable, but instead call it a story because some of us hold the Bible in high regard and believe it is truth.
The Oracle is the Bible. When Merovingian asked for her eyes, he implied that he wants the New Testament out of the Bible so that people won't be able to see anymore.

@ 7:44 ever since I watched this very shot, I was convinced by the analogy. If not the Devil, closer to Dracula.
There's a lot of Dracula symbolism with the Merovingian and his pad in the matrix franchise you even see a female vampire on tv and Cain (the one that ran to The Merovingian after Peresophone threatened to kill him after she killed Abel the werewolf exile) was a vampire exile and was killed after a one of Merovingian's statues swords fell on his chest killing him (like the vampire lore )
And they even have Vlad Tepes statues with fangs in the Merovingian's hallway where the exiles fight Neo
Even his look in Resurrections is similar to Vlad Tepes' physical appearance (Long wavy blonde hair and a beard)
Vlad Tepes is who inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula and when Neo runs out to the mountain area is a homage to Carpathian mountains in Romania where Vlad Tepes supposedly had a secret castle hidden
... the Merovingian is French. He represents Jesus and the supposed bloodline descendants of Jesus. 🤷
I'll be honest... never even considered this. Never even crossed my mind. But it has a massive ring of truth to it. Very interesting
What is great about this movie ... each one of us have his own explanation and interpretation for it ... the best movie ever ...
The reason Merv appears in Ressurections as the drifter is because the Analyst’s “new and improved” Matrix needed very little of the Architect’s old code. Because the Analyst was a student of the human mind (and had the emotional bond of Trinity and Neo powering his system), he didn’t need Persephone’s code at all and she was deleted.
The commercial at the end got me.
The coated cake at $6.66 is one virtually everybody can figure out but I wonder how many people understand the $101.
I’m new to this channel but I’m already like “ooo what else does he say?” 👍👍
I have a wild theory about the Merv. That he was the anti-agent of the first or possibly second anomaly. He was the Smith to the first or second Matrix's "One". Maybe he won against the One making him extremely powerful and gained all the control and extra power he has. Rewriting his army of exiles as vampires and werewolves because of his taste in human literature. Once the architect reset the Matrix and then becomes the new Merv. Stunted but still powerful. Anyway that's my theory. There could be a whole comic series of the Mervs adventures through the different Matrix versions..😮😮
Yep. He is the rebellious son of the architect. :)
Premiers in three hours!!! So far away
13 HOURS not 3!
@moonlambo5229 such sweet sorrow
M.E. CHEERS & SALUTE. THKS FOR KEEPING THE PARTY GOING!!![999]
Its surprising this channel does not have more subs. But keep it up.
Ending commercial is great
Yes.. he did not know what he was shown and by whom he was shown this path..
He was deceived to a point of no return..
He still has a choice to come out of it..
He was shown to take instead of giving unconditionally..
I missed this channel
WELL DONE……..🌟
Love the commercial at the end lmao
The clip of the art lady explaining art is hilarious.
I think Merv is more of an OS, an AI architect. The definition of devil is vague anyway.
Instead, we should believe that all circumstances are based on...'SYNCHRONICITIES'
one curiosity, if neo needed the keymaker to enter the room to get to the architect, and the keymaker died for creating and giving that key, how did the previous anomalies reach the room?
keymaker is a title, not a name.
Perhaps Neo's predecessors acquired their keys via the Merovingian rather than the Keymaker? After all, controlling and power are his MO
@@csehszlovakze really not a name but a function of a program ... the one that makes the keys hence keymaker :) the architect is not architect John Snow - just the function
@@agentbawa552 yeah it`s an idea, but maybe there is something else in matrix universe that can explain it :) would love an episode about it
@@iulius_august Is it safe to say that anything referred to as, “The” fits that description of being a specific function of a program? The function itself would still be present in each version of The Matrix, but in each version would appear differently? Maybe that’s why they introduced the element of Digital Self Image (DSI) in Resurrections? I know it’s essentially the core of Matrix Philosophy in general, but always love to dive deeper into it as well…
So, “The”: Keymaker, Trainman, Analyst, Architect, Merovingian, Oracle, One
In the current version of The Matrix, we see two of them that support this idea, The Merovingian and The Oracle.
With Trinity being the Seventh emergence of The Anomaly, and with different versions of non-exiled programs having a different DSI (you see Tiffany’s DSI in the reflection off the table in the coffee shop scene), that leads me to the bigger question…
How can there be a version of The One in the current version of The Matrix if Neo refused to return to The Source, thus making The One an exiled program?
Maybe the Machines are what eventually evolve into “humans”, which then create AI, which then starts the entire cycle over again…
That would then mean The Machines themselves are also within a Matrix, right?
I know he's meant to be a villain but it was kinda sad seeing how he went homeless in Resurrections as he essentially went from riches to rags
They explained why he "fell" the Analyst said he purged everything even exiles
LoL!
“Le Vrai”
“The truth”.
I agree with everything except what you said about the 4rth film...none of that script is supposed to be taken as canon, that's Lana's own words, not mine.
one of your very best videos
I would have expected the Merovingian wears the Merovingian-Knot on his tie here 0:26
Because this tie 2:47 or this one 4:22 is knotted Merovingian-style.
loved the little comercial
No, they were VAMPIRES, at least his bodyguards were.
Heheh he wrote it himself was always a good one. Matrix explained is still king of the hill on the matrix universe
Does that painting in the Merovingian's chateau have a name?
He's my favorite character in the movies.
After seeing all the movies we can easily conclude he was the only one with plan so yeah is very easy to like him. Neo was just puppet.
Merovingian would make a cool prequel
Have you ever covered the connection between the terminator and the matrix because it seems they are connected! If it's true it's very important!
Supposedly John Conner is Neo and the T-800 and T-1000 are agents
She created the "one" with a cookie, which Neo ate the first time he met her, the Merovingian told him the truth about everything an even demonstrated how it was done.
this is a great theory!
I was so like matrix reloaded when I was younger in my childhood and also as a teenage
Like it was yesterday. Can't believe this movie is old.

This guy is always so off. Merv was the creator of the older Matrix that was governed by cause and effect. The Oracle came up with a better version so Merve was fired and sent to deletion. That’s why he wanted to kill the Oracle: to get his old job back.
I caught this the first time and every time since. 😂
Interesting! He does run the underground, the outcasts..
I've always wanted to see segments of the nightmare matrix implemented in the films. Hopefully for future films and games they make a new matrix
He was the "oracle" of the nightmare program
But like a djinn who offers you wishes for your soul
Even djinns will "save" monsters from going to hell in Muslim folklore
Just because he perfected trolling, doesn’t mean he can replace the SOL, the true Godness of the Universe
The Merovingian is the operating system of the Matrix. That is why he is so powerful.
You're all over the map with the Merovingian. "Was he the One?" now, "Is he the Devil?"
Did the other “ones” die and comeback to life as well? Did the oracle want neo to go back in the matrix to save trinity? & did she know smith as a virus could have been used as a bargaining chip with the machines ?
I wonder if the Merovingian was the first "anomaly" in the first matrix...?
We still live in the 1st matrix. Illusion is the parallel that we all exist in along with other parallels...BOOM! NEVER ENDING AND NEVER DYING. LIVING IS A CYCLE AND WE ALL HAVE AN ANGEL LIFE BUT THE ONLY WAY TO CONNECT WITH THAT SELF IS THROUGH DYING. FOR A SPLIT SECOND YOURE AN ANGEL THEN THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENS IS YOU BECOME REBORN UNTIL FOREVER.
Makes Perfect Sense
Very very beautiful movie!
I can't believe it's a simulation!
I wonder what its like to feel good
After watching these videos and hearing about the first 2 matrix programs, seems fitting that the mwrv would be "the devil".
I’m jealous you’re ahead of me. Cause , effect, or Coincidence 😝
Merovingian is when you have had enough to the point of having zero Fs left to give so YOLO...😂
Persephone is the names of his wife. In Greek mythology, Persephone is the wife of Hades, the god of the underworld.
Do a video about the oligarchs in the matrix, the only humans who survived the war and stayed free
I wish i can get my hands on that matrix tv show from canada
Good video, I would like to see some more videos on the parallels between the biblical stories, and the matrix. However, I wish you would not refer to the story of Lucifer as a fable, but instead call it a story because some of us hold the Bible in high regard and believe it is truth.
1:46 Demons and Lucifer are not in hell, they were actually sent to Earth, and when Hell is finally opened up Lucifer will be the first one cast in.
The Oracle is closest to the devil as the devil gave humans choice, allowing them to leave the place that the architect had made just for them.
The Oracle is the Bible. When Merovingian asked for her eyes, he implied that he wants the New Testament out of the Bible so that people won't be able to see anymore.
The Merovingian is Saturn, chronos, El, in matrix 4 neo sees it and says oh my god!
