@@Skyprince27 I've seen where people are doing similar things already. No CV's spotted yet but plenty of subs, destroyers, and cruise liners. Most of them are being done up as RC too.
When I saw that you posted the .stl, I nearly screamed out of joy. I'm gonna 3d print this tomorrow, as soon as my current print finishes. You've gained a sub bro.
Very impressive, since the canopy is a single component I hope you also do a version with an open canopy as most of the time they dove with them open in case they had to bail out.
@@fab365_official They also (Pilot and Tail Gunner) used open canopy as when they dove the rapid change in temperature from inside the cockpit to the outside would more than often fog up the cockpit.
I want so many more of these. The one I've suggested on the website is a Fw190 A, but I'd also like to see just, generally more WW2 Aircraft. I'd gladly pay to be able to print them and put them on a shelf to stare at and play with. My (mostly) full list includes the P-51H, P-47 D25, B-29, Bf-109 G, Ju-87 D, Me-264, Yak-9, Il-2, Pe-8, Spitfire Mk V, Mosquito Mk VI, Lancaster Mk III, A6M2, D4Y2, and Ki-49. I know that's a lot, so if you do make them, maybe do one country or type of aircraft at a time whenever you want, we'd much appreciate them. A lot of people love WW2 aircraft, and I really look forwards to more.
3D printing is changing the face of a few hobbies. Most interesting for me are scale modeling, tabletop games , and RC Edit got to wonder how long before the big modle makers get smart enough to start selling modle and parts print files
I think the big ones are going to see some serious lag, because their bread-and-butter is still the hobbyist who'll spend up to $50 on a kit ($100, if they're feeling fancy) but isn't in a position or mindset to buy and support a 3d printer. I think we may see it starting in smaller companies where 3D printing means they only have to do the research and design, letting the customer do the manufacturing. That could especially be the case for companies like Custom Dioramics where they're coming up with a lot of their products, so they can focus on creating eighteen different kinds of walls because they don't have to do research.
Amazing! Brilliant! Incredible! I need more words. Very good work, the moveable control surfaces add a lot of realism to the model. I'm an aviation nut specially for the WWII airplanes. Congrats. Well done.
Dang! It's like you made an entire Revell model! I still have my Revell model, but I've never got to building it. Do you have part downloads? Edit: Never mind. I saw you have the part downloads. What programs would you use to open them, though? I'm not experienced with 3D printing.
Guys this is amazing, I love Douglas dauntless since forever! I want to buy a model already printed. I'm not interested in drawi gs for printing. How much for it. Please asume shipping to Mexico. I'll pay in advance. Kudos! Excellent work!

You should stop printing everything in the same spot in the middle of your heatbed. Otherwise you will wear it down and loose bed adhesion at this spot really soon.

And if a 3d print of the canopy could be made from _clear resin_ and be printed thin enough (read: 'hollow' i.e., not a solid 'plug')... 🛩️😊
