- The Secrets of deep sea fishing for KOB in Gouritz. Unbelievable day of fishing the deep sea. With a small gap in the weather and good reports of kob in Gouritz we took the Gecko out. On a day where two boats flipped while exiting the estuary we had a very good launch and of we went.
Over 30 boats were packed together hunting for Kob there was not many fish on the bite. We managed to land one before i decided to move out of the traffic and search for them on my one.
I used the eco and was lucky enough to find a school an on with every single line that we dropped.
We eventually packed up and another one was on as we were pulling all the lines in.

Great video! 1 question, how do you get the stomach back in if you release them? Something they swallow by themselves again?
Hi Brandon. We poke a small hole in the bladder with the hook. It deflates and then it is said to heel within days, but i am not always sure about that. I try and do my bit to keep the fish stock healthy. the correct way is to have a rig onboard with a weight that takes the fish back down with a quick release system, but it is very expensive and time consuming to fish like that, so the other option is to puncture the bladder and let it deflate. Don't know if it works but the fish does swim away
