I would say the zabuza scene was still more impactful to the viewer if you re watch it !! Haku is just like Naruto ! It was the first time he convinced the enemy that their view is wrong ! Also one of the first times Naruto shows it’s ok to cry for your enemy!! Also when you realize Kakashi father took his own life for having views like Naruto did and obito did before the rock fell on him the whole scene was really deep more than I think they intended.
@@juanbanda8052 I agrée and John did the zabuza scene no justice but what they were arguing is what was more impactful completely not impactful to the main character and that’s what John had confused. Asumas death , the slow shogi playing when he’s usually quick , the silence while trying to be consoled , then the break down!? everything was relatable to real life a deep message you take everywhere . It was for sure more tear jerking than zabuzas scence . Not saying zabuza scene wasn’t brazy to.
@@junespeaks9217 shikamaru definitely had a more real life feel to it on how to handle a loss. But I think that’s because we can relate to that more so than the zabuza scene. Not everyone is an orphan searching for belonging but everyone has definitely felt a loss before
@@juanbanda8052 I also agree, but I do not think Zabuza was evil at all, he was a hired killer who was trying to the best for his own village. His arc showed that the world of Naruto is a moral grey area which is brilliant writing, just depending on whose side you were born too. Zabuza's arc showed the absolute cruelties of war and how two forces that are against each other do no necessarily mean one side is good or bad, but the losing side will always be portrayed as the bad guy. Naruto and co were fortunate to be born in the circumstances that they were, because had their teacher been weaker, they literally would've died with him as Haku did his Sensei. This synopsis literally paints parallelism between the two worlds and how, at the end of the day each of these sides have more in common than one would originally think. Zabuza dying absolutely was more impactful because it shaped the theme of Naruto overall, that just because you think you are working with the perceived good guys, doesn't necessarily mean there isn't more to the story. The story comes back full circle at the end because it gives Naruto and the viewer early that there is a deeper subtext behind the war and helps us to (whether we agree with it or not) understand Sasuke's journey of betrayal to the leaf village and ultimately his redemption.

@@final2k565 the argument wasn’t weather the zabuza scene was better they was jus arguing over johns opinion mark didint like that that scene was johns favorite💀
I'm not finna lie, I kinda feel John's argument. After zabuza and haku died, and Naruto hit the "They were enemies, but ya know, I kinda liked em!" And then Kakashi smiled and hit the "I feel the same." *Shit had me in tears.*
I mean let’s be real, if Mark can bring up the Shogi scene with Shikamarus dad when he was talking about Asumas death then why can’t John bring up Naruto thinking he lost sasuke? That was connected to what Haku stated “being a ninja” meant, which also motivated him throughout the series. And that “Pick up the pieces.” Scene was good, but it was also filler, which is why it’s never expanded upon.
And to say Zabuza Arc didn’t affect Naruto going forward is WILD. Kakashi himself said that Zabuza gave Naruto his creed, you know the whole “I’ll never give up.” Thing that he started saying RIGHT after that arc? Yeah, where do you think it came from?
This 100%. I usually don't agree with John but he's absolutely right in this case. And Mark was trying to invalidate the fact that Naruto thought Sasuke died at that time.
This is all correct but that scene was better that was the original point but it got to impactful. It was team 7 first real mission but asuma dying as shikamaru sensei and sarutobi son to the akatsui and find out Kurenai is pregnant
John is 100% correct about the impact of zabuza arc on the entire series. This is the first time that naruto has experienced what it truly meant to be shinobi and the cruelty of it. Experiences like those is what made naruto want to carry on Jiriya's goal
I agree with John, asuma most important part is him dying unfortunately. Naruto the main character had a big moment one of his first lessons/experiences introducing him to the ninja world also one of his first talk no jutsu moments. Zabuza and haku in those few episodes left a bigger Impression than Asuma and the fact that its even comparable says it all
john is right, that zabuza scene is peak, the devil of the mist showing he has a humane side too after talking about shinobi just being tools of destruction and crying for a kid he raised and ultimately caused his death because of how he brought him up, up until the end of naruto that lesson stuck with him naruto wouldn’t be who he is if he never met zabuza and haku
Personally Zabuza arc was peak Naruto for me. It was violent and hand signs and it sucks they went off track. They should kept going in that fashion. Instead making people planetary.
The fact that you can cry or weep for your enemies is a powerful and touching moment. I get John’s and Mark’s point but I definitely give it to John because that was probably the first time Naruto ever witnessed death and this moment is what molded Naruto to be who he is.
I kinda feel where John coming from like I watch Naruto not the shikamaru show , and I didn’t care about asuma until he died like let’s be real he was cool in the games but yeah naruto talking mad to zabuza was a better moment for me
Oh you dumb ash if you think Naruto talking shit to zabuza is a better scene than asuma death scene for shikamaru just cuz he is a side character doesn’t mean he can’t get his moment and that’s what makes it 10x special cuz not all anime let side characters get their own arc especially a guy like shikamaru that never showed emotion and we seen that he never did all of OG Naruto and seasons of shippuden compared to first 15 episode of naruto like it really shouldn’t even be a comparison just cuz it’s a side character and not the main character shouldn’t Dictate your choice

And I can still make the argument that Shikamarus reaction was still not as impactful as Naruto’s reaction to Sasukes fake out death and honestly the way Zabuza went out after Hakus death was incredible. I gotta agree with John and if he was able to make his point without everyone yelling at him and dickriding Mark, he could have convinced more people.

If this is true, then I'd have to agree with John and petition for him to get his Naruto Card back. I'll admit I agreed for the Asuma scene at first, but with all the good points and hindsight, Zabuza may just be the better scene overall. OG Naruto wins again over Shippuden.
Y’all the only niggas keeping Naruto relevant the series been dead for years Boruto ass and John right the Zabuza scene is a 1,000x better then the Shikamaru scene
I love these guys, but the Zabuza scene was amazing, and I don't think there was another moment that did the same for me in terms of emotion. I think it's the fact that Naruto was only a child experiencing something like that for the first time. The whole thing was just super heartbreaking for everyone involved not just Ina-Shika-Cho when Asuma died. I'll never forget when Naruto was screaming at Zabuza about Haku while Zabuza (the villain btw!) just stood there quietly until he couldn't take it anymore. "Your words cut deeper than any blade"...gets me in my feels every time! no other moment in the series did that for me.
I feel like John was right. He just sucks at explaining himself. Its hust hard for him to do so when the rest of them keeps jumping in. He trying to get his 1v1. thts all. Both moments were very impactful, but Mark's scene only impacts a side character, John's scene impacts the main characters and the show moving forward. Dude has a valid point.
John made some valid points… the Death of Zabuset the tone for Naruto where there aren’t many strictly evil characters. They all have layers of their character that shows how they ended up in their current position. Also it taught team 7 what it actually means to be a ninja and what happens when you let the life succumb you… With all that being said Asuma dying hit harder because it was characters we already we’re accustomed to but it’s not as far off as mark is making it seem
I'd argue that in the long run the zabuza and haku scene has more impact. Because it develops young naruto and help shapes his world view. Which i would consider more important because the show is about naruto and we follow him around on his journey thus by extension because of what he learned early on from zabuza then actively shapes his character which leads him to the decisions he make later on throughout the show. However I will say if you just going scene for scene I would say Asuma has more emotional attachment.
Mark is wrong as hell quite often. But he's so boisterous and the squad gives him so much reverence that it often doesn't get called out the way that it should.

Nah John is right. Asuma is cool and all but he wasn’t relevant until he died, but zabuza definitely hold more weight. That whole arc changed the main character of the show and damn near molded him to the character he is for the rest of the series. Shikamaru crying and seeking revenge for his masters death is anime 101, but shedding tears for your enemy and being exposed to the harsh realities of the world you wanted to be apart of hits different.
John took an L on this argument lol. But he's ironically correct. The first arc was one of the most important parts of the series. It's literally the thing that gave Naruto his resolve and it's referenced until the war arc.
Mark is one of those people who scream and yell and say the same thing over and over without letting you speak in order to win the argument. There's no point in trying to argue with people like that.
@@ItsNothingRichy John yelled first for this specific argument. However, there are so many arguments when Mark is just yelling and saying the same thing over and over to make the person give up. That's not arguing. That's just yelling

Mark don’t do nothin but curse and over talk ppl. I gotta agree with John. That zabuza arc is where we start to see the foundation of Naruto and Sasukes brotherhood/rivalry. As well as having respect for your enemy even after a kill or be killed death match. An unspoken mutual respect for one another. There’s a reason why Zabuza is so beloved in the community. And he ain’t even a side character but yet he had major impact on the show and the characters involved. Mark is trying to compare all of that to some heart to heart between Shikamaru and his dad while he grieves for his sensei. Basic shit you see I an anime. Shit we just saw in My Hero with Endeavor but My Hero did it better. And as far as the Obito scene of him witnessing Rin dying, that’s typical anime shit too. Witness a loved one die or get hurt and boom, there goes a new ability or a new power up or both.
Zabuza was lonely, depressingly and all he had was the sword and eventually even that betrayed him and took the ONLY person he cared about and as a swordsman he fought to the end. If u feel that shit then you feel it.

The Hidden mist arc was beyond impactful and set the tone for NARUTO as a whole. Shikamaru's moment was just that... a moment. It doesn't impact anyone but Asuma's team and his family.

John is 100% correct about the impact of zabuza arc on the entire series. This is the first time that naruto has experienced what it truly meant to be shinobi and the cruelty of it. Experiences like those is what made naruto want to carry on Jiriya's goal
Hell nah
@@dhrvaysmith1757you don’t know ball. Naruto changed from that moment and forged so many of Naruto’s morals and key ideas.
I agree with John, asuma most important part is him dying unfortunately. Naruto the main character had a big moment one of his first lessons/experiences introducing him to the ninja world also one of his first talk no jutsu moments.
Zabuza and haku in those few episodes left a bigger Impression than Asuma and the fact that its even comparable says it all
They originally was saying which scenes better . And shikamaru crying was a better scenes Simple . Not who more impactful
Shika is still more impactful because that scene was pivitol in shikas role to bring naruto back from depression after he found out jiraiya died

john is right, that zabuza scene is peak, the devil of the mist showing he has a humane side too after talking about shinobi just being tools of destruction and crying for a kid he raised and ultimately caused his death because of how he brought him up, up until the end of naruto that lesson stuck with him naruto wouldn’t be who he is if he never met zabuza and haku
Personally Zabuza arc was peak Naruto for me. It was violent and hand signs and it sucks they went off track. They should kept going in that fashion. Instead making people planetary.

And I can still make the argument that Shikamarus reaction was still not as impactful as Naruto’s reaction to Sasukes fake out death and honestly the way Zabuza went out after Hakus death was incredible.

@@theoneandonly06 Fax. They all talked about it on stream like a couple days ago.
For real, if Mark just sat down and thought about, what did Asuma do before that arc that made us care about him fr?
Mark is wrong as hell quite often. But he's so boisterous and the squad gives him so much reverence that it often doesn't get called out the way that it should.

Johnz's not lying. After that they broke their own rules and dumped those hand signs almost completely. Made it a little dragonballee.

Mark argument not even valid frfr. But he’s a one piece fan so he easily gets attached to characters nobody give af asuma.
