- Tool - Invincible (Live Premiere May 5th 2019)
On May 5th 2019, Tool performed a new song called "Invincible" for the first time at Welcome To Rockville 2019. The new song will feature on the new Tool album.
I'm sorry that this is a little late. There wasn't a lot of material to work with to be honest. These 2 new songs are absolutely phenomenal in my opinion. Imagine hearing the studio versions.
Who are you? Haha is this a official tool UA-cam channel?🤔🌀
Man how do you get the quality soo good?
Better late than pregnant.

I chortled so loudly at this.
How rude of the band to play, while the people are trying to carry on a conversation.
I know, right? I can barely hear the dialogue.

That's what I think people thought in the 60's about a bunch of bands. Crazy that this is the only band I feel that way about currently. Trent Reznor being another artist I feel that way about. Both saved my life at different times in my lifetime so maybe it's just me.
Adam Jones literally came into my work almost 2 years ago. The nicest guy ever. Stopped to talk to me for a second. Told about some shows coming up. Ask him about when the new album is coming out, jokingly. He pauses and smiles. Looks at me and says, "Soon."
This happens 6 years ago? (I'm kidding of course)
Lol, two years later and we’re still 3 months out!
Well.. We finally figure out that for Adam "soon" is about 2 years lol
James Sams
Sounds just like tool to me got to love it
Yeah bro, he totally is, what do you do for work where he came into? In 2013 in Sydney, I got the VIP experience ticket. It was the best things still to this day I've ever done. We got to go to sound check in an indoor stadium of 15,000-20,000, depending on set-up, they did 4 songs, there was only 20 of us. Then they put us in this classroom sized room, and said one member will be with you soon. The 20 of us sit there, and in cruises Adam. He was so humble, sweet, honest. He opened with something along the lines of 'hey guys, I'm Adam, this isn't a question and answer session, this is just a bunch of people having a chat. . He spent like an hour talking with us, then had his guitar, we all got to hold and play it, then showed us how he wrote jambi..just a genuine dude!
"I paid over $150 for this ticket to see an artist that has an incredibly passionate fan base. Sounds like they're playing a new song--that hasn't happened in 13 years. I should probably talk through the whole thing" - +30% of the audience at this show, apparently
It’s a festival so a lot of people are not necessarily “Tool” fans
@@derekrohan9619 yep. festivals tend to be mostly just people that like to get drunk and not real fans of the music.

Good to hear the Jambi-style riff used again. I've always admired Adam's unique way of playing that riff.
His pull through technique is phenomenal. You better have that timing on lock to do it as well as him. Very underrated guitarist
The progression from Undertow to this is absolutely mind boggling. Some friends of mine said they didn't dig on 10,000 Days as much as previous work, but to me it was so much more complicated, more indicative of the progression of a man's life, or rather his perception of the progression of mankind through his years. This has so much feeling for me.
Rosetta Stoned and Jambi are two of my favorite tracks. Idk how anyone can hate on 10,000 Days.
Just wish the audience would shutup but hey ho. I'm grateful for new tool. Thank you toolarchive your the og
Yea. Everybody should be a mute at a concert so that people watching on UA-cam can enjoy the show

@@kilmoturtles1 Not just those on UA-cam, those in the audience too. It's annoying that people feel the need to chatter away in quiet sections of songs.

I fucking love what I’m hearing now. The proper version will be orgasmic
Exactly, Tool songs don't just come out of the gate and slap you in the face. They take time to develop a relationship with.

TOOL doesn't make songs, they make productions. Each song is a journey. Unpredictable, and very artistic.
Literally all their songs sound the same tho. I often wonder if Adam knows his guitar has more than three strings.
@@rowhaus5478 I'm a tool fan I can agree but even then with something minor it's still solid maybe simplicity is something he prefers
@@rowhaus5478 I'm not going to argue with you there. Even more so since Lateralus. However, songs don't need to be complex to be interesting and speak to you. Take NIN "La Mer" for example. Very simple, yet wonderfully crafted to invoke emotion.

Why does every version of the lyrics I’ve seen say: “ bellied in” ? As far as I know, that’s not a real phrase, and since I don’t really hear the last “ed” of it, I’m tempted to think the actual lyric is: “belly in”. Just makes more sense to me. Anyone have a reason to say otherwise?
Holy hell, I can feel a Lateralus-level album coming. This sounds more how I thought 10000 Days would sound before it was released.
Thanks for the lyrics.
I feel like this song connects with Jambi somehow.
I actually can't believe how much this song had my jaw dropping. They've fucking nailed this.

Tool is transcendent so how can you not believe? Do you not have faith in Tool? It should not be a surprise. Any amount of jaw dropping was not enough (just like you can never have enough cowbell) :P.
I always come back to this video. It still gives me chills. I was the type of person who checked reddit every 20 minutes for 5 years waiting for shreds of info on the new Tool. Never had any doubt. This is what four humble guys - setting the 'Bar' even higher - a loyal base willing to wait however long it takes, I'm 65-years-old, trust me, I'm the program director who refused to play Tool edited. Last station I owned is to this very day still #1...
Not defending him or the nature of this, but when becoming this popular it’s hard to stay humble. I greatly respect anyone who makes it the world stage and doesn’t get full of themselves for even a moment. It’s just human. Now being able to keep your ego in check while all of that goes on is incredible. I can’t say for sure if anyone does that, but it seems like Keanu Reeves might be one of them
@quartzlcc I mean he can write some pretentious lyrics but he seems like a grounded dude. Just is a bit of a jerk to fans and half of that is him trolling. After listening to interviews, reading stuff that people who have met him have said and observing his lyrics, I just think that he's got his own persona. It's not the outgoing nice guy one but one where he chooses to seclude himself and enjoy life with people and activities he values. I've never heard anyone close to him, musician or otherwise, really speak negatively of him. I think that says something.
Also check out his video series The Art of Work.
That crowd is the reason i dont go out anymore. Tool playing a new track- yep lets talk all the way through it ffs. Half of them dont deserve to be at that gig. Flame me

It's still so unreal I got to see Tool for the first time live front row for this show! I had to stand in my spot for 3 hours, and it was worth it beyond words. They sounded absolutely flawless, and Invisible is one of my favorite songs now. The lyrics and instrumentals are equally perfect. Can't wait for the album!
The sheer brilliance and artistry come from 4 people totally and completely understanding what each other brings to the project, and a deep understanding of how that dynamic plays into each of their own ego's. Music and mood first, then Maynard attachs vocals to it that he feels represent the feel of whatever he feels. Its a literal simple process but it grants us musical, and artistic genius everytime.
Forty 6 And You well said sir couldn’t agree more
The bass is still killer as ever. Rock it Chancellor!
Honestly, after a few days of listening to it I'm convinced that, to me, this is going to be one of the best things they ever wrote.
100% Agree...

Dude, not even...
*cough* *cough* lateralus bottom n reflection? *cough*
lol calm down. I'm sure everyone is going to be saying that it's called the honeymoon phase.
The passion, the emotion, the endless power of Tool! 👍🏻
I love how the polyrhythms that Danny plays in this song create a sort of ostinato that's easy to "latch on to" and follow along with while they're playing in odd time signatures. Absolutely brilliant.
So freaking ready for this album to drop!
You have no fucking idea how excited we are man
this is like going on a date and actually liking the other person. It's been a while, and i can't wait to get more of this !!!!
This is like having crush on someone and having that person crush on you as well
Hell yeah I see what you mean man
@@Kokose and it took you 13 years to find out XD
@@Kokose that's physically not possible.

Just wish I could see them live... Their music has helped re-lift myself. Their uniqueness cannot be understated
I love this set up: guitar & bass out front, drums & vocals in the back. No frontman. Put the focus on the music.
Long in tooth and soul
Longing for another win
March into the fray
Weapon out and belly* in
Warrior - Struggling - to remain - consequential
Go* around
Bold and proud
Where I've been
Here I am
Beating chest and drum
Beating tired bones again
Age-old battle, my
Weapon out and belly* in
Tales told
Of battles won
Things we've done
Come give your love again
Beating tired bones
Tripping through, remember when
Once invincible
Now the armor's wearing thin
Heavy shield down
Warrior - Struggling - to remain - relevant
Warrior - Struggling - to remain - consequential
Cry aloud
Bold and proud
Where I've been
Here I am
Where I am
Warrior - Struggling - to remain - relevant
Warrior - Struggling - to remain - consequential
Tear in my eyes
Chasing Ponce de Leon's
Phantom soul
Filled with hope
I can taste
Mythical fountains
False hope perhaps
But the truth
Never got
In my way
Before now
Feel the sting
Feeling time
Bearing down
Chuggathon (Jambi...except better)
Tear in my eye
Chasing Ponce de Leon's
Phantom soul
Filled with hope
I can taste
Mythical fountains
False hope perhaps
But the truth
Never got
In my way
Before now
Feel the sting

Walter Pinkman are you some kind of lyric wizard? How the hell can you get all that from this shitty phone recording. You’re legendary
Iron Man would love this song
Dear God. I might weep.
Weapon out and back in, that completes it.
@@kjohansen4088 anyone who's got some ear training (say from playing an instrument) can probably pick it out
Everytime I listen, it gets better
The greatest heavy metal/progressive metal band to ever grace your stereo.
Not greatest heavy metal. But progressive, absolutely.
Adam Jones is the coolest motherfuckin' guitarist ... period.
Check out devin townsend
Robert Fripp is cooler
I cannot wait for his artwork for this album which he prob had done 2 years ago....
Adam is the fuckin coolest!!!
Nah brah...i vote Alex Jones from infowars!
8:16 when Maynard creeps back in with that sludgy riff. Starts the Ponce De Leon stuff, man this is so amazing. LOVING IT!
Maynard only sings. What?
Sean Wilkins when he starts singing again after being absent over that riff
Gave me chills....
The new Tool sounds boring.

Heard one Tool song you heard all. Most overrated band ever.
These guys are unbelievably good live performers. Their sense of timing is on another level entirely. That drumming!!!
Can't wait to hear the new album.
have you checked out meshuggah live? they also fit that description pretty well
This song seems to have parts of older stuff and something new. Love it!
@9:25 That is just the coolest sound, so goddamn crunchy, it's like eating cornflakes with no milk while giving your cat a death stare.
Literally impossible not to bang your head
You win today
FUCK YES
Lol, that is one weird description for crunchy
@@Kekorock1 actually it's the only description for crunchy that I've heard that makes sense.
this is better than descending
Honestly I'm just surprised I'm still alive to witness their new album. At the time of lateralus I didn't have plans to fade away silently, I was on the path to burn out bright. My how things have changed! For the better I might add! Glad to be here!!
glad to have u with us
Justin with his rocky power stance, Adam in the zone walkin over to justin, Maynard crouching despite the hip injury and in the centre, Danny the piledriver holding the reins. This made my entire year. Thank you Tool, the most honest band. Thank you ToolArchive, distributor of happiness.
Oh the emotions are so intense!!! Maynard has perfected his vocals! Its like inhaling a drug! Wow!
