You need to watch them perform live. Virtuoso, all 5 of them. I'm a 51yr old metalhead from northeast USA. Seen all the big bands of the 80s...none compare to Lovebites. Yes, the bands of yesteryear pioneered metal and these ladies blew the roof off metal, leaving skies the limit for these ladies. Just the beginning for you. Thank you for the reaction! LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".
And Asami of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm Download Festival UK 2019, singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's "Love Bites" again after Japan.

The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).

Well..we know Lovebites. It's their trademark 'not to be cute, but to be heavy'. 👍🤘
I am a 63 year old who has been listening to metal since before it was even called metal. Who would have thought that the best power metal band to form within the last 10 years would be an all female band from Japan. I never would have guessed my top 10 metal albums of 2020 and 2023 would include albums from this same power metal band, Electric Pentagram in 2020 (my favorite Lovebites album) and Judgement Day last year. I was in my 20s during the 1980s and my favorite metal band was Iron Maiden. When I discovered Lovebites four years ago, I was taken back to when I discovered Iron Maiden as a college kid. Based upon their first four studio albums (Awakening From Abyss, Clockwork Immortality, Electric Pentagram and Judgement Day), Lovebites is on track to become a band that will be mentioned along side Iron Maiden. Lovebites will be making their US debut this September in Atlanta at ProgPower. They have 2nd billing on the third day (out of 6 bands that day) right behind Amorphis. In fact, I believe that Lovebites is considered the #3 band of the entire 4 day festival, only behind Winger and Amorphis. I am traveling over a 1000 miles from Texas to attend days 2,3 and 4 of ProgPower, mainly because of Lovebites (even though I am much more a Prog Metal guy than Power Metal). To make this fall even more special, I am seeing Iron Maiden in November.
The song Stand and Deliver is a very important one in Lovebites history. It is the first song cowritten by the guitarist Miyako and the vocalist Asami. I hope it is just the first of many collaborations between those two great talents (Miyako might actually be a generational talent).
I always wonder if its just me (59 btw.), or only a german thing, that all the bands that now are labeled as "metal" when i were young were just called "hard rock". Like Deep Purple, Rainbow, AC/DC. I think the label "metal" was just becoming popular with Iron Maiden and Judas Priest maybe and somehow find it weird when these older bands suddenly are called "metal"
@@beldin2987 I agree that the term heavy metal was first used in the early 80's with bands like Maiden and Priest. I started listening to Black Sabbath in the early 70s and they were the first true metal band. I don't consider Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin to be the first metal bands because they were blues based and that is hard rock. Black Sabbath was something totally different even if they originally formed as another blues based band. BTW, I consider In-A-Godda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly to be the first metal song.

You're in for a whole lot more, because LOVEBITES is among the best metal bands of all time. You've just got started, and every song they do is awesome. Midori and Miyako are elite level guitarists who do phenomenal solos or harmonized duets in every song. Now do Judgement Day.

The only other band (that I'm aware of) that could even come close is Dream Theater, but they don't have dual lead guitarists.

Stand and Deliver seems to have more energy as a live song as do the other songs they released from this two day show.
All the songs released give different aspects of playing styles but are no let downs. These gals rock from beginning to end and do not know the meaning of slowing down.

I agree, but I'd suggest it is better to listen to the older version of "Swan Song", as it has the Chopin Intro, and also a better sound mix allowing us to hear Miyako as soon as she jumps back on the piano at the end of the song.

Miyako, the dark haired guitarist is a classically trained "concert" level pianist. You absolutely need to check them out playing live. They have about 60 original songs, several of which are legitimate masterpieces, and would not be out of place in a list of the best 100 metal songs ever written. As well as Power Metal, they also do straight out thrash. My favourite thrash song from them is "Break the Wall" ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html It has a Slayer / Testament feel with a Gary Moore inspired solo (you'll know it when you hear it).

Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. It debuted on #4 at iTunes album charts worldwide and #1 at metal charts in 8 countries.
Recently their album „Judgement Day“ was voted #15 in best metal albums of the year 2023 by readers of Metal Hammer UK. Also „Stand and deliver“ was voted on #15 for best metal song of the year. What are fantastic results for a still relatively unknown and foreign band.
LOVEBITES finished touring Japan last October. They will be on a WORLD TOUR this year. First dates are already announced for this summer. They will appear at several festivals. For example they will play on main stage at Hellfest/France, one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe (with 60k tickets sold). I really wish someone would change their wikipedia entry to that people will stop calling them a power metal band. They are a heavy metal band that plays several genres of metal, one of which is power metal. This song isn't power metal at all, it is straight NWOBHM and a nod to Motorhead. A few days later, someone else(s) edited the text, returning "power metal" and other errors. And this happened several times! Adherents of the power metal sect do not want to admit the obvious.
