I experienced this the other day when I tried a blue instead of rose madder and it shot everywhere the moment it touched the water. It was a new to me color and it reminded me that paint behaviors have to be learned. Fun though.

Thank you because I haven't heard anyone explain the difference in the dispersion of the paint colour before. You sure are highly skilled at making your brush strokes into gorgeous flowers. 🌸

That explains a lot about why some flowers look so much better than others. When l looked up colour substitutes for rose madder however, l learned it is such a fugitive colour that it's not recommended to be included in one's palette. Indeed, many of my paintings that use lots of red fade more quickly, l now notice. Still excellent advice regarding dispersion.

    What watercolors do you use?

Thanks a lot this wonderful demonstration. I definitely prefer brands like Holbein that are easier to control and allow techniques like this one. Also DS watercolours are a bit too „loud" and in your face for delicate watercolours.

Thank you for not using music. It’s a bad trend and very distracting.
