If you guys are in California at some point it would be fun to do a collaboration course vlog together! Keep up the great work. Course and weather looked amazing.
Please send some to North Devon! Love the videos and content. Love the course blogs, but Tech Tuesdays and Finch Fridays are my favorites - Great analysis of questions, structured answers with common sense approach, with fun banter thrown in (Brilliant!).
#cominginfrominsta Can't wait for these 2nd hand challenge videos, one of my favourite videos and it's at a course that I'm a member and work at. Buzzing!!
Love watching the videos you make, you should try out radio mics on the course. Just so we can hear what the player is saying when being filmed from distance.
Peter Finch Golf At 62, old habits die hard...but a bad back is making it a necessity! I'll keep at it and let you know. Just want to play as long as I can. Any particular drill you'd recommend?
Thanks for the response!! I've been a huge fan of both you and Rick for a while and thrilled to get a response from you. I have improved my golf game so much because both of you!! I have also learned that I don't like Nike apparel thank to Rick..don't tell him that though...Galvin Green all the way!!
I guess this comment section is there to give honest and open comments about the vlog we have just seen, on that basis, I appreciate that you guys are working and t times it becomes a little same old same old, but quite seriously, if you guys are really trying to qualify for the "Open" then with all respect, I personally think that youre miles away, There is no doubt that you guys have a great channel with a lot of super informative material, looking at the lessons you've had , swing changes etc, its clear that one needs time to bed them in, I still see a lot of very quick movements in the swing Rick, and the putting?? Just making my opinions clear, I guess that's what this column is here for, I would love to see you both qualify, would come and watch when you get your teetimes and course!! But I guess.like many other followers , we all want to see you guys do well!! Practice, practice , practice!!!
The Biff Biff is a made up term basically meaning hitting it really hard. You will find a some of us Brits [and probably others] use similar terms on such occasions; for example - Give it some wellie [a wellie is a Wellington Boot] - Give it the full bhuna - I am going to Muller it out of sight Cheers
May I suggest that in your 'Quest for the Open' both you and Rick no longer take 'GIMMES'. In fact, It might be a nice ADD to your WHITE BOARD. I realize that you don't always give putts, but when practicing for stroke play compititions it is always best to putt the ball in the hole no matter how far. There are NO easy shots in golf, especially under the stress of tournament competition. Good Luck in your QUEST....really enjoy your channel Pete!
I know you guys haven't talked much about AimPoint (and I'm just learning about it) but I was just wondering if the methods you show standing over your line (see Pete around 6:17) are how it's taught. If so, I wouldn't use it in competition. I believe what you are doing is in violation of USGA Rule 16-1e (The Sam Snead Rule (due to his odd putting stance)) - when on the green, you can't stand on or astride your putting line. I may be misinterpreting something but I don't think you can walk towards the hole with your line between your feet.
Christopher Lyons I agree with you in this. You can straddle your line but cannot stand on it as Rick did on the last. With aimpoint you are supposed to stand to the side of the line where the putt breaks, if it's a left to right break you stand to the right of the line. The only time you straddle the line is where the putt is under 6ft or straight.
Are you sure aim point allows tramping all over the putting line? When there is considerable break then you are almost definitely stepping on the putt line........ Pls advise.
Ofcourse I do but when its 4 or 5 feet with a break its not a gimme. The "Quest" is all about challenging yourself so you could argue Matchplay isnt the game they should play. Ultimately there are no pressure putts and there will be plenty of those in the "Quest". The best moment in this vid was Ricks putt on the last. Two awesome putts under pressure.
Obviously we understand the concept of matchplay, but when you title your main objective as the quest for the open you should play more strokeplay. They do matchplay in basically every vlog, which would be fine if they were doing Quest for the Ryder Cup, but they are qualifying for a strokeplay competition and so it would be good to practice short pressure putts in matches like these.
Wow, some of the commenters in here, should find a rope, and use it to end the misery of those around them.. Pete, Rick and all the other PGA pros, should be applauded for keeping up with these monsters. Pete, I love all the work you and your fellow men put into this, please stay strong, and keep doing what you're doing! Ps: I know you can't press like on this, due to my first line:P (just needed to blow off some frustration, I obviously hope they get help with the hatred somehow else)
Meandmygolf are a lot more professional but golf needs to be fun and entertaining, so I have given up watching Piers and Andy and find I watch Peter and Rick. At times I think it might make more sense if Peter and Rick watched some of the Meandmygolf.com videos! But I am sure that would end up creating less entertaining UA-cam content..
love the channels and you guys are great, but i honisly feel you guys really give the wind too much respect and play alot of shots with the wind in mind and it very rearly effect the shots
Wow!!! What a great finish to some great course vlogs 👌 2 fantastic putts and deserved of a half in the match.🏌🏻
cheers bud
Loving the full 3 video one day releases. Wish they could happen more often.
we'll see, it takes a lot of effort to film and get the vids released like that

Nice Round!

You know where yo at!!
Huge putts by both of you at the end. Way to steady the nerves, see the putt and then roll them in!!
cheers Richie

You guys should repost these old vids to your new audience. Quality content
Over-gracious gimmie...
⛳Last hole birdie: Ohhhhhhh!

Brilliant birdie/birdie finish. After watching so many vlogs, I thought I had the jargon down, btw, but what on earth is a diff-biff? ;)
The Biff Biff is a made up term basically meaning hitting it really hard.

@Dan Sorry, I wasn't aware anyone reads the comments before watching the video.
biff biff means whacking the ball :)
Pete's toooooo nice with the gimmies
nice guy :)
Finally, some putts that go in , applauso guys
at last! :)

Seconded.
matchplay allows for gimmes although I do understand what you are saying
Absolutely, I don't think he's saying It's wrong to take them. Just that it would be a good idea to practice the short ones for The Quest.
Rick you would have been ok if you fell into the pond on the 8th because those shoes your wearing are like flippers😂😂😂😂😂
Meandmygolf is a much more professional duo but these lads are still entertaining to watch
Good ol' biff biff?! That's a new one for me.
Pete's game is slacking the last few months
What balls are you currently gaming Pete?
bit of everything at the moment

how you liking those one length irons??
yes good, I've got my new ones through which I can't wait to use more fully
Peter Finch Golf that's good, just watched the fsx skill challenge vid where you talk about them more in depth, very cool
@peterfinchgolf is that a rogue silver 70x in your fairway wood?
indeed
Peter Finch Golf how much is it tip trimmed? Does the shaft feel whippy? Or stout?
Are you sure aim point allows tramping all over the putting line? When there is considerable break then you are almost definitely stepping on the putt line........
Pls advise.
Hey Pete, what happened to the Osmo?
we never had an osmo, just a gimble, I've still got it
Maybe a silly question - but why is there a second little flag on the pole?
Paul Collins it's to tell you where the pin position is, up high is at the back, middle is middle and low is at the front
Thank you very much for your response. 👍
pin location
I clicked on this video because of the title and was expecting something completely different...
how many viewers were looking for the over swing and tumble on 8th? could have been finch vs shiels gold
I thought it was going to happen!
Got to give up the gimmies if you're serious about the quest. Way too generous. Couldn't do it in a competition
Matchplay,do you understand the concept ?
Ofcourse I do but when its 4 or 5 feet with a break its not a gimme. The "Quest" is all about challenging yourself so you could argue Matchplay isnt the game they should play. Ultimately there are no pressure putts and there will be plenty of those in the "Quest". The best moment in this vid was Ricks putt on the last. Two awesome putts under pressure.
Fraser doesn't understand the idea of match play. It's fine.

Was that a Texas accent (at 11:50) for Pete???
I do a pretty terrible all encompassing American accent haha
Wow, some of the commenters in here, should find a rope, and use it to end the misery of those around them..

peter i love your work but you need to speed up a bit .. keep up the good work
As long as he meets the pace of play what does it matter?
Meandmygolf are a lot more professional but golf needs to be fun and entertaining, so I have given up watching Piers and Andy and find I watch Peter and Rick. 8:55 its like they expected the wind too draw ball back but it went dead straight, too bad you landed short shieldsy
what are the clubs that rick uses?? they always sound like he tops or blades the ball. Not a fan of the sound.
iBlades, a little harder feel than some others
Why’s rick got the cocaine coughs???
nowadays looking pete's putting stroke really looks weird... is me or he just look not fully comfortable and committed with his putting...
Can I have a shout out
shout out
Pete that American voice is so annoying
Fake pga pro Rick
