i am from darrang district..my respect and affection goes to the beloved people of Barak...bt sometimes we become disheartened being seen the hatred to assamese language and Assamese people....as we are living in the same state...the people of Barak also bengali originated assamese....

Nabajyoti Ray First of all, correct your GK atleast related to your state. It's a shame that you know of river of your own state. And, Bengali as a culture is so rich that it cannot be superseded by any culture( Assamese no chance) . I hope you learn to respect other culture too.

If u search on internet about it, u will know the history... Assam rifles jawan killed almost 11-15 persons in barak valley instantly in 1960's I think.. So that's the reason why Bengali is official language of Barak valley... Those persons were protesting silently to declare Bengali as official in barak valley and govt. Of assam gave order to kill them. From then on Bengali is official.
This is coz everything related to Barak Valley will be portrayed through Bengali only. Its our own official language. Why should it be in Assamese!?? Its not a state language as well.. Atleast we showcased some themes related to Bihu in beginning.. but if you watch Namami Brahmaputra, you certainly won't find anything which can be related with Barak Valley.

But you can't deny Chinese invasion of North East India. Sukhaphaa was not Indian because yunnan is a province of china.
