The unravel isn’t animenz’ arrangement but it is quite similar with the exception of the guitar solo bit near the end of the piece where akmigone’s arrangement is much more similar to the original than animenz’. It’s a very impressive arrangement for only 3 minutes of practice 👏
As a new player and fan of a number of big UA-cam piano channels, it's a huge breath of fresh air to hear what a professional sees and thinks in great detail.
My favorite video from Akmigone is the opening of Westworld, but this Oppenheimer cover was pretty amazing too, i did'nt know about it! Most of the time i am also disappointed when other instruments are added to a piano cover, especially when the pianist is so good, i want to be able to clearly hear everything. I specifically remember the Ori game theme covered by Akmigone, it was amazing but the strings were added way too soon to my taste, i would have loved to hear more of the piano alone. It is very nice to know that you two are in touch :) As always, thank you for the video!
It’s a tricky one to balance, I can understand wanting to add them to build the piece of music beyond the capabilities of just the piano…but I agree that a piano cover is its own thing, the limits of solo piano are what make piano covers great 😊
the cover of how to train your dragon is just insane, he wrote the most insane epic cover of how to train your dragon, hope you'll react to it next time it's so interesting for beginners what he made with that piece is great to learn how to arrange etc that's a crazy arrangement he wrote i really hope u're react to it
Very nice and analytic video. Akmigones videos have most certainly been at least one of the motivational “kicks” i’ve neeeded 4 years ago to start playing the Piano. I would love to watch and listen to your opinion on “Gibran Alcocer” who most likely arranges and produces the most viral TikTok piano pieces like “Idea 10” or “Idea 22”
Omg yes! I bought all her music on iTunes. My favorite video by her is the Amelie suite she did 👏 She’s not as technically skilled as the UA-cam virtuosos but her playing is still superb.
I had to search to see which part of the piece this was 😂 but yes!…. The section is essentially ascending and descending arpeggios, so I would practice it in two ways. Firstly, work out what the chord is that each bar is outlining. For example, bar 178 is outlining an F# minor triad. Then practice the arpeggios independently as an exercises at a slower tempo. Secondly, practice in hand positions, playing very fast but leaving a pause after each hand position group. So in bar 178 the first 4 notes make up one hand position so play those notes fast, then leave a pause, then 4th finger over to play the next 3 notes fast etc.. doing this will mean that you get practice playing it accurately at speed with the correct fingers and you get to know exactly where the fingers cross over. When you can do this comfortable for one chord, then join two groups together at speed etc… 😊
Hey man love your channel. Idk if u are going to read this or if its even a good idea or im just being dumb but, a video idea: I was watching la la land and i thought that Mia and Sebastian Theme song is similar to lift me up by Rihanna and i have no idea why. So u could maybe do a video of songs that are similar to each other and explain why, idk. Thanks for the hard work love your vids
There were actually quite a few mistakes in the Tokyo Ghoul one. It was played at about ffff for 10 years and felt like you got shot out of a bazooka and the slapped round the face 10 times then pushed into a ice bath while eating Mcdonalds it was the musical equivalent of a sensory overload. Good playing, some mushy pedalling and incredibly boring to listen too (Overly predictable). But other than that it was good. One thing to keep in mind when creating an arrangement is to have not only a variety of texture but also dynamics, maybe even try changing the chords. It's funny, the only way so called "musicians" can get praise is if they do a "show off" piece, play in octaves in the right hand high up with the melody, octave bass notes with fast arpeggios all while deafening everyone around, it doesn't need to be that, where did beauty in simplicity go? For me saying that's amazing and getting all impressed is the complete opposite of how I feel about it. Just being honest. It was the same for Animenz and I will be consistent with it. Enjoyed the video though. The piece after was better but still similar to the last one, listen to these arrangements back to back they are the same as they go through the piece just getting louder and louder and harder and harder. ( JUST MY OPINION)
I have a question. As far as I have seen a few pianists, the sound that comes out when playing on very cheap and ordinary pianos gives a very acoustic and royal piano feeling. But in reality, that sound does not come out of that cheap piano. How do they do that?
They connect the piano to the computer and use software to re-render the played notes with sounds recorded from a higher quality instruments. Examples of such software: Garritan CFX, Keyscape, Vienna Symphonic Library pianos
Check out Joshua Kyan Aalampour channel, he's a young composer and as far as I know he's a self-taught. Definatelly worth making the reaction video or sth like that
He doesn't do it for the views. Personally, I'm interested in what an experienced pianist like him has to say about my idols like Vinheteiro, Patrik Pietschmann and Träum. I play the piano a lot too, but he's a professional and I find what he has to say about them incredibly interesting. And to be honest, I'm completely happy for him to get the views. You know what other nonsense is on UA-cam and they get 10 times as many views. We pianists have to support each other
This was such a blast to watch, love how you explain and explore the various pattern and styles. Keep creating awesome content :D
I’m glad you enjoyed it, your videos were fun to watch and talk about! 😊
Shoutout to the shaky piano stand. We all have/had one.
It’s a rite of passage 😂

A minute longer than needed if you ask me 😉

@@matticawood great thx keep up Matthew
Hi! I would love to see you analyze his Pretty Hard Arrangement of Davy Jones Theme. That arrangement is absolutely insane.
Thanks for the Mondays emails with tips. Very helpful
No problem! I’m glad you like them 😊
You need to see "Dream Battle Black midi"
Its cool because it shows real sheet music instead of "falling notes"
I really like He's a pirate ! One of the song I learned to play years ago when I started learning piano :) But haven't played the piano in a while 😢
Cool Video! Keep the work up man! Hope you'll get 100k asap! ❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for your videos. You helped me a lot.❤
No problem! 😊

Interesting, il have a look…I haven’t delved into TikTok pianists too much before! 😊
@@matticawood that would be awesome!
You should check out Katherine Cordova. Such an underrated pianist. Her version of the Oppenheimer theme is the best I've ever seen
Omg yes! I bought all her music on iTunes. My favorite video by her is the Amelie suite she did 👏 She’s not as technically skilled as the UA-cam virtuosos but her playing is still superb.
Il check her version out, I haven’t heard of her before 😊
@@matticawood that's awesome :) She has some amazing covers. Two that I recommend are the succession finale and her arrangement of golden hour
He's not good, he's insane 🧙🏻♂️
His piano can barely keep up with the skill 😂
It does look like his piano needed to sit down afterwards 😂
Speaking of piano battles, you should check out the piano battle from the movie "Secret" by Jay Chou!
Still waiting on your top 10 hardest piano peices
I’l definitely get it done at some point 😊
Thank you!
Im learning moonlight sonata 3rd movement
Do have any tips on bars 179-188

What your thoughts on Victory TSFH by Akmigone? Would be glad to heat your opinion as I am learning this.
you should react to Flavio Belardo, he's a really great pianist.
You should do a reaction to Jarrod Radnich's arrangements. He is such a genuis
Good stuff
