So the URFE clip makes it a sliding paternoster rig then Mike? I fished yesterday at Pen and the only rig that didnt get weeded up was a short sliding pat. Tried pulley and gathered weed straight away. As for braid give the cheap spectra ebay special a try. Been using it for years. 20lb braid to 70lb braid shockleader for beach and 60lb straight through everywhere else. Great stuff and never had a crack.
No, the urfe clips makes it an urfe rig / Portuguese rig. Cols rig at the beginning i would say is a sliding paternoster with the way the beads are set allowing to slide the snoods up and down the trace.
@@thatsabite It's crazy how many rigs have different names but exactly the same, can be said of knots too. What I meant was the running paternoster, that's what I used to beat the weed. Really helps to stop the bait getting covered in weed and obscuring it from the fish.
I've used them twice now when fishing over clear ground and fishing for flattys and bass and really like them. Rich has had bass to 9lb and double figure smoothy on them.
Had something big on at Moelfre on the rocks I have no idea what it was but it felt really big my spinning rod was bent right over the fish got a way I did not even see the fish it was putting up a good fight I was yousing metal spinners the fish got away I think it was a big bass
J braid is good but expensive temu have got some 50lb 13 quid 1000m comes recommended by someone who just drags cod up walls haha. Just done two reels myself in it
Nowt better than a last cast blank saver Mike. Tight lines
Isn't it just, figured it out in the end. It's definitely a rig I'll be using now, simple yet effective.
Another enjoyable video mike ,Well done to not a blank lol ,can't wait to get out bud ,be a while yet for me
Go on buddy a blank saver on the last cast 👏 🎣
Tough session! Figured it out to get one on the bank mind 😂
@thatsabite deffo they all count lad 🤣

That's a bite😂
A valued bite! 🎣
Can you fish with garden worms sea fishing
I don't think they would turn them down, flattys would certainly eat them.
What do you think of yuki rods I no you have one ?
I've used them twice now when fishing over clear ground and fishing for flattys and bass and really like them. Rich has had bass to 9lb and double figure smoothy on them.
I have got a yuki a8 and have had thornback rays on it around the 9 lbs .... find it so easy to cast
Stermat will now be sold out of wire 😂😂
You know the score 😂😂

That's a place I haven't fished yet believe it or not. Sounds like your heart sank at that moment, devastated for you. Thanks for watching pal!
Have you ever tried making your own riggs
I tie my own rigs often but I'm toying with the idea of expanding things a little.
Only peckers on the platform tonight, a few flattie knocks, but poor tbf.
A peckers a pecker... Are you still there or back at home?
❤
👌👌👌
No need for a shock leader on a fixspool just put 70 pound braid on job done 🎣🎣
What braid would you recommend? I've only recently started using shocks as I had a few crack offs.
I'd use 70 or 80lb shockleader.. using both braid and mono.

@kevslife think I'll stick to this bullet proof and shock, it's doing well to be fair.
@AshKing-h8g ok mate, although now I'm using this bullet proof line, I'm really liking it with the shock. I'll definitely take a look
splash point ?
Nope, Prestatyn then is mate 👍
