      Isn't it just, figured it out in the end. It's definitely a rig I'll be using now, simple yet effective.

    So the URFE clip makes it a sliding paternoster rig then Mike?
    I fished yesterday at Pen and the only rig that didnt get weeded up was a short sliding pat.
    Tried pulley and gathered weed straight away.
    As for braid give the cheap spectra ebay special a try.
    Been using it for years.
    20lb braid to 70lb braid shockleader for beach and 60lb straight through everywhere else.
    Great stuff and never had a crack.

      No, the urfe clips makes it an urfe rig / Portuguese rig. Cols rig at the beginning i would say is a sliding paternoster with the way the beads are set allowing to slide the snoods up and down the trace.

      @@thatsabite It's crazy how many rigs have different names but exactly the same, can be said of knots too.
      What I meant was the running paternoster, that's what I used to beat the weed.
      Really helps to stop the bait getting covered in weed and obscuring it from the fish.

      I don't think they would turn them down, flattys would certainly eat them.

    What do you think of yuki rods I no you have one ?

    • @thatsabite
      @thatsabite  4 дні тому

      I've used them twice now when fishing over clear ground and fishing for flattys and bass and really like them. Rich has had bass to 9lb and double figure smoothy on them.

      I have got a yuki a8 and have had thornback rays on it around the 9 lbs .... find it so easy to cast

    Have you ever tried making your own riggs

    • @thatsabite
      @thatsabite  2 дні тому +1

      I tie my own rigs often but I'm toying with the idea of expanding things a little.

    No need for a shock leader on a fixspool just put 70 pound braid on job done 🎣🎣

    • @thatsabite
      @thatsabite  5 днів тому

      What braid would you recommend? I've only recently started using shocks as I had a few crack offs.

    • @kevslife
      @kevslife 5 днів тому +1

      I'd use 70 or 80lb shockleader.. using both braid and mono.

      @thatsabite  5 днів тому +1

      @kevslife think I'll stick to this bullet proof and shock, it's doing well to be fair.

    • @thatsabite
      @thatsabite  5 днів тому

      @AshKing-h8g ok mate, although now I'm using this bullet proof line, I'm really liking it with the shock. I'll definitely take a look
