My interpretation - It is not that it is necessary, it is that you wanted to come here and experience the place of "death and decay" Why? Because you came from a place where you knew this place isn't real. Overcoming the human experience means to pass on and return to pure joy. What a feeling it must be.
We actually go through so much darkness just to find the light was within us all along. It’s all been a play . We live the Bible characters or their consciousness until we get to become like Jesus
