Correction* The MG brand remains British, however SAIC has acquired managing shares of the company. The brand is built upon Volkswagen’s platform which is widely known as the “People’s Car” because of their built quality and reliability, since SAIC also has shares in Volkswagen. The interior is from Daimler who also designs interiors for Mercedez, Bentley, Abarth, Audi etc. So it’s manufactured by a chinese manufacturer but isn’t exactly chinese. Proton on the other hand is also not chinese. It’s built on Volvo’s platform and is equipped with their safety systems and powertrain which is world renowned for their reliability. Uncle is just bashing all these other brands because he obviously wants to sell his overpriced car. Nice car nonetheless but not worth the price in my opinion. Just my two cents.

Though Japanese automobiles are the best one, but its not good to say that there is no comparison between chinese & korean brands with japanese, i would still prefer buying tucson, sportage & mg or glorify, these companies are doing really well.
