Neither the Expendable nor Sabastian are the villain here. They are both people who are trying the best they can with what little they have. Both have a common enemy yet can't do anything about it. Also, since Sebastian's document can be purchased in his shop, this means he must have read it. And thus learned of his innocence.

He must’ve read his document after breaking out all the experiments, and gosh would that have been traumatising. He’d probably now have a new determination to get back to the surface, and maybe to do that he’s going to attempt to befriend us, well he already is but he may try to get us to join his cause. We aren’t the villains, the hadal blacksite is harming both of us and Sebastian knows it. Absolutely agree with you.
The animatic is phenomenal, but one thing that really stands out to me is how you draw human Sebastian. He just looks so... Utterly normal. Someone I could see on the street and not look twice at. And that makes it more heartbreaking.

If this ending were to make it to the game, they would have to add A LOT more character development to the friendliness and attachment to Sebastion as you kinda just see him once per run (not including possible death of course). I’m sure he’s sickened by the expendable program, seeing new people sent down every day and dying. But of course he has no faith in humanity as he hasn’t really seen a single one of his life

This gave me the shakes and made my heart drop omigod...To think that there was a scrapped ending and this is where it would lead up to. I was late finding out about the game, but the first time playing it and hearing his voice, I grew attached to Sebastian as a character, hook, line, and sinker. Getting to see him first time in-game and seeing so many people's fanart of him just cemented it more and more, and his history is gut-wrenching... I even thought the ring on his finger was a canon addition and I bawled my eyes out, believing that he had a spouse who didn't know that he was still alive (and I'm still seeing it as canon nothing can change my mind--). I haven't finished the game yet, but if this is what the game would've been led to, I think I'd be fine with not finishing... This animatic is beautiful, the vocals just adding to the haunting yet mournful scene. Even the way Sebastian smiles as he says goodbye, just 😭😭😭 And I am not ashamed to admit that I legit screamed when the player character brought up the bat. 💔💔💔

Also the fact how unreliable was Sebastian's transporting, so there was actually no impediment for him to start bloody massacre with breaking containment of dozens of terrible monsters that can destroy humanity if they want

They: killed without reason creator of p.AI.nter who was innocent, hurted p.AI.nter(they forced him to unstoppable hard work so his CD disk get burned, and they didnt even fix him), and also they literally did terrible inhumane experiments to Sebastian Solace, who was innocent too, and didn't even asked like "you'll die or we're doing terrible things to you but you surviving". Also the fact how unreliable was Sebastian's transporting, so there was actually no impediment for him to start bloody massacre with breaking containment of dozens of terrible monsters that can destroy humanity if they want
